  1. You know, I was just looking at that picture and thinking about mankind. It really takes you through the generations. Think about it. It takes you all the way from the lightbulb to space travel.
  2. *Ahem* Come on, Gallion, don't give the guy bad thoughts. Seriously, I'm married to the woman I've been with since I was a wee lad (just starting high school). We didn't get married right out of high school, but not too long afterwards. Actually, we got married Las Vegas style when we were 21 (well, she was 22). We had us a REAL wedding not more than a couple of years ago, just to appease the families. My point (I do have one, you know) - don't let those naysayers take you away from the woman of your dreams!
  3. Steve, don't worry about it. It's NOT infringement. 1 - You're not making any money on it. 2 - You're not claiming to have written it. 3 - You're not claiming to own it. You only have to take it down if the author/owner asks you to.
  4. Actually, an HTML or .txt file was never put together to the best of my knowledge. However, check the archive section of this board, and you may like what you find. Never mind that. The archive was deleted. Darn. [This message has been edited by aramike (edited 02-21-2001).]
  5. LOL! Epsilon5, I assure you, we did not get a double agent. There are still a great many things in the BC universe that go on behind the scenes, and you don't know about. ------------------ Vice Admiral Michael Kristophers ICV-Intrepid, Spectre (Antis) Fleet Leader Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand." 6. Reminds me of the original Metal Gear: "Uh, oh. The truck have started to move."
  7. Spectre Fleet, you have your orders from the man himself. Hit 'em. Hit 'em hard. Hit 'em where it hurts. Just don't forget to raise your sheilds (RP Tags). ------------------ Vice Admiral Michael Kristophers ICV-Intrepid, Spectre (Antis) Fleet Leader Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand." 8. quote: LOL! I will admit to being the oldest veteran who has not declared yet! I toyed with it a while back, but I couldn't bring myself to decide. Too much of a Federation loyalist, I guess. But that was then and this is now, so who knows? I may succumb to the Dark Side yet! Get on it! We ain't the Dark Side, GALCOM is! ------------------ Vice Admiral Michael Kristophers ICV-Intrepid, Spectre (Antis) Fleet Leader Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand." 9. Yeah, Steve, btw - I still want you in the Insurgency! And Kush, you too! We need good commanders! Send email to [email protected] with questions. [This message has been edited by aramike (edited 02-19-2001).]
  10. Happy B-Day! I remember when people didn't have to start their own birthday threads... Everyone, update yer ICQs!
  11. [RP] Civilian Gallion, you are hereby granted an asylum under authorization from Insurgent One and the office of Spectre Fleet Commander Michael Kristophers. Make yourself aquainted with Spectre StarStation and be in my office by 0700 tomorrow morning. We have much to discuss. 12. Actually Thomas, we were helping Epsilon5 get aquainted with the distinction between RP and the rest of the board. Anyway, back on topic. Tips only in this thread.
  13. quote: I made what I consider to be friends and had my picture posted on mars, I believe, thought I don't remeber how to get there. And a beautiful picture it is! If anyone get's a chance, go to Mars on ActiveWorlds. Check Rattler's den. The whole lot of oldies are posted there. Speaking of which, where is Den Dee?
  14. Not real interesting, but here goes... I found BC3K on some shelf in Babbages, really cheap. I read the box and pretty much fell in love with the game right there. Not being an avid gamer at the time, when I saw "A Derek Smart Simulation" on the cover, my reaction was somewhat like "who the hell is Derek Smart?". Anyway, I obviously bought the game, installed it, and decided that I needed some tech support. I was wondering why the hell I couldn't orbit. So, in the manual I saw the site and visited (it was bc3000ad.com at the time). I had a couple topics deleted, figured my way around, and made friends with a whole heckuva lot of great guys (Derek, Rattler, Gallion, Blades, Charles {Chavik}, Ron {Akira}, Eclipse, etc.). More than I could possible list here, as a matter of fact. To be honest, Rattler was the first - he's always stuck it out for people who are subject to unfairness. And he's the most noble gentleman I've ever met. If you get a chance, have a quick chat with him sometime. Anyway, as I kept coming back, I became aquainted with more and more newcomers and oldies alike. People like Wold, Echo, etc. The point is, that while the game keeps me playing, the people keep me here. Yeah, this can be a place with strict rules, but how many flame wars have you seen here as opposed to the other boards? None. This place is clean, fun, and not only that, here we get to interact with the developer of the game as opposed to the flooded boards. So, IMO, this place is a win-win situation for everyone.
  15. [RP] Hey Blades, you gonna muzzle this guy or do you want me to, personally. Listen to this smack: quote: The bigger, the easier my missile will make bulleye!Or this smack: quote: They won't need a paint job, there will be nothing to paint. All this from the guy that says this: quote: (In response to selling spare parts) And when an enemy is gonna beat your a**, you will regret it.And he thinks he'll take on the WHOLE Insurgency, which, by your own admission, has FAR more experience? I won't blame you for shielding your ship with this guy. But, for your sake, I wouldn't advise it. 16. quote: Originally posted by Epsilon 5: Sorry. But I think I lost my rulebook... Well, now you know the rules, and you will have to play by them. Like I said, we're not Insurgents/Galcom in here - only in RP. Believe me, the rules work.
  17. quote: They dont just hand super carriers to any Tom, Dick and Aramike...LOL! 18. quote: Originally posted by Epsilon 5: At least it make us worthy opponents. There are less insurgent commanders than Galcom commanders, but their skill may do the difference. I'm glad you're alive, so I may kill you therefore. Rule #2 of the BC universe: outside of RP, we are ALL gamers. In other words, if you're going to bash someone in RP, do it within the RP tags ( [RP] [/RP] ). There has been an instance or two in which someone was banned for not following these guidelines. So unless you're in RP, you're not an Insurgent, a GALCOMMIE, etc. We're all gamers. Why else do you think Insurgents would help you out?
  19. quote: And when an enemy is gonna beat your a**, you will regret it.Wow, he asks for advice then gets argumentative about the advice he receives. I'm wondering who the experts are... Anyway, if you're a GOOD commander, much less a MERCHANT one, you won't need to worry about the enemy kicking your ass. Learn to use the CLOAK effectively, and the safest trading routes. Plus (hint: check Tips and Tricks), if you're a commander worth your salt, you'd realize that if you sell your spare parts properly, you can end up with one hell of an upgraded BC, which makes it even HARDER for the enemy to get you. In fact, IIRC, you can even FULLY upgrade your BC simply by selling your spare parts. And you can get some radine off to the side. I believe in Tips and Tricks, Tac has put together one helluva table. If not, check the archives - it's there. One more tip, commander: don't ask for advice then argue with the pros that give it to you. ------------------ Vice Admiral Michael Kristophers ICV-Intrepid, Spectre (Antis) Fleet Leader Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand." 20. quote: ...too strong for a newbie like me.[RP] Heh, Blades, you've got recruits going after the Firestorms. He's thinking that it may be a bit "too strong" for him. Heh, I thought that assault rifle you asked him to carry to the loading dock was too strong for him. You may want to see about placing this recruit on a semi-lucrative shuttle run. 21. quote: Just out of curiosity, would any of the other fleet commanders be considering getting their hands on the other fleet domain names? Not a bad idea. Let me consider it. ------------------ Vice Admiral Michael Kristophers ICV-Intrepid, Spectre (Antis) Fleet Leader Spectre Fleet "You can only love or hate something you truly understand." 22. quote: Pentium-S 100MHz 32RAMYour processor doesn't meet the minimum system requirements. Also (as was noted earlier in this thread), post all your system specs.
  23. quote: Based upon being sharp and lethal - but you'll get to know all about that in good time.[RP] Yeah, I heard about that "lethality" of yours. Too bad that kitten couldn't fight back. And sharpness? Your about as sharp as that overused razor you shave your legs with. The real sad news here is that Orion Fleet is a great representation of its commander. Just look at Savage (Blades). He sits back, hits on women (getting turned down even when he ORDERS that girl to buy him a drink), and boasts of how, for us to get to HIM, we'd have to get through his fleet first. Yes, join Orion Fleet, kid. I mean, everyone has to start SOMEWHERE. Just watch out for your FC - he may use your ship to shield his ass.
