I've been out of the loop for a while but I am catching up as fast as I can... I have moved three times in the last month and I now have no computer. I was wondering if we Insurgents shouldn't discuss ideas about New America and it's location here. It would be fitting seeing how it is our forum. New America needs to have a good plausible theory for being where it is and regardless of how it ends up getting there we need to figure out how we are to keep the anti-social aliens from taking it from us. I have to agree with Karl in everything he said. Good job pointing that out! I have a few questions I would like to pose. I thought that Galcom was supposed to stay out of internal/civil conflicts? Isn't the fight to overthrow UFN what we Insurgents are all about? I know Galcom has to keep us from terrorizing Earthcom vessels while they are in Galcom space, but Solspace? The way I understand it (and I could be wrong) is that if the Insurgents had the resources to construct a station around Uranus, then the only group stopping them would have been Earthcom with maybe a little support from Galcom. (Does Galcom really spend all of it's time hanging out in SOL?) How the HELL could anyone think that EarthCom could stop the Insurgents from building Destiny if it was almost finished when they found out? Furthermore, the Insurgency is made up mostly of Galcom defectors/mutineers. The Insurgency has resources that are supposed to match alot of Galcom's, at least insofar as capital ships and the like are concerned. Would Galcom come to Earthcom's rescue all the time? Galcom isn't run by Earth is it? It's an alliance made of THREE different alien races. Would the Empirians and the Vesperons really want to keep spending their resources fighting Insurgents that just want to go home to live in peace without tyranny or oppression? I'm just trying to get out as many questions as I can right now. I figured on just doing my best to question everyone's logic so that you guys could make the scenarios you've come up with a little tighter. I really think everyone is doing a great job coming up with ideas but we need to be realistic here. Does there really have to be a deep story to all of the points the SC listed? Can't we justify everything simply? There is no need to make it complicated. I hate to be the guy to throw a monkey wrench in the works if I did. Without newbie commanders there will be no one worth shooting at. Besides, one of the reasons that you can join the multiplayer games in the POV of a marine is so that people who don't want to hop right into a giant whoop-ass starship can still play...and have fun doing it! I haven't seen even ten games in the last five years that were both complicated enough to be challenging and fun. I mean, GTA was loads of fun but there wasn't much skill involved in mastering that game. BCM, however, will let you play how you most feel comfortable. Anyways, there's no point in boot camp either. I would just practice at home till I had it down and then run through bootcamp in record time. It would most likely be a waste of programming. Is there any information about which of the models are supposed to be the newest thing out? I mean, if some of the Insurgent stations are supposed to be new,then wouldn't it make sense for them to actually be new? That is the funniest thing I've read in weeks, Nighteb. You definitely have some issues you need to talk to someone about but that's a good thing I think. I'd settle for a bicycle if it meant I didn't have to walk around all over the place carrying my rocket launcher, sniper rifle, machine gun and extra grenades. Them things would sure get heavy after awhile. Hey that makes me curious...BC does the amount of gear you're carrying have any effect on your FF? I suppose it would make sense to just assign commanders to stations. And while you guys are all sitting in your humvees of the future I'll be cruising by in a vehicle that floats. If I had my choice of running around on mars in a hummer or a floating-who-even-cares-what...well, I'd pick the floating-who-even-cares-what. Instead of building the story around the ship, why don't you try building the ship around the story. It would be more plausible to start off with a good reason to build a huge ship and then decide just how huge it is going to be. The end of the world thing is a good approach but it has been done. If I had two-hundred years to get everyone off the planet because a giant asteroid was going to hit it. Hell, I'd just slap some big engines on old mother Earth and push her outta the way. Has anyone been assigned anything like patrol zones? It seems to me that if we had Insurgent ships assigned to patrol specific quadrants/sectors/systems, that we would always be prepared to defend areas of interest to our cause. I for one would be much more relaxed knowing that if some crazed battle group of Galcommies jumped into Barnard's Star system, we would have more BCs available to defend all of our assets and not just those of us that are gaurding/commanding the station at Sygan. Has something like this popped up before?
