  2. Logistix is only supposed to be accesible from WITHIN the CC. Yes, remote access to the Launch Control power systems would be nice but, if I remember correctly, it don't work that way, intentionally. Why delete it? It's good reference material for those that know how to use the search function.
  3. quote:Originally posted by Eclipse: Well If I remember right Arima is MUL/RAI Tulon, hense they jump to the station or ODS and get blown away. Giving them a defend mission should keep them from doing that. It has been quite some time since I played through that one and when I did I would always launch a shuttle to tow the diplomat and drag him to Majora. I seem to remember that this isn't allowed anymore but I'll have to try it to be sure. It's allowed but no where near as fast. Shuttles towing a CC travel at ~550 instead of their usual 2000+ (Hey, what is the speed rating, MPS? I never can remember.) Peter, do a forum search on Diplomat1 and you'll be amazed at all the help you'll find.
  4. quote:Originally posted by ralph: Thanks for the prompt reply Tyre! I eagerly await the new patch!! GReat Game!!! You're welcome. Impressive, a n00b that recognizes a kurt response not as a flame but as the helpful response it was. BTW, it's Tyran in RL and Tyrn (no that's not a typo) Marcel here. Seeing the Tyre caught me a bit by surprise.
  5. First, you can read the VCF and search for Commlink to see if this has been reported and then you can wait for the patch to be made available. I'd also suggest searching the forum for commlink as you'll learn something from it. Thread closed.
  6. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: [snip] its not like 3 year olds are easy to control and be able to do things against their will.LOL...Now that is a universal truth. Just ask my 8, 5 or 4 year old. The littlest one is only 4 months, so she really couldn't say at this point!
  7. quote:Originally posted by Sir John Falstaff: Oh yeah... I tried that. For some reason my AE spins in a circle to the left. Only in first person mode. The shuttle flies fine. It's never done it before, so I'm assuming its a problem on the computer end. When I rebooted I didn't have a stuck key error. I dunno what the heck is going on with that. Maybe my AE is so stunned by his crews incompotence that he's reeling in disbelief. LOL.... Unfortunately, I know of no other way to salvage your situation. Of course, I have been known to be less than all-knowing.
  8. I have to agree whole heartedly. In all reality, isn't that exploitation?
  9. quote:Originally posted by Sir John Falstaff: I found a nice little patch of moon to set down on last night. Right out in the sunlight, early AM planetside. So I turned off my reactor so it wouldn't burn my Radine as I sacked in for the night. I guess there are clouds on Earth's moon. Sometime during the night solar reactor power dipped below 5. Life support went off. Now my crew has the IQ of a bowling ball. They'll turn on every friggin system they think is important, but they can't figgure out how to refire the reactor or reactivate life support. I can just imagine the deck officer sitting in the freezing dock listening to his AC/DC wondering why nobody has turned the heat up, but unwilling to turn off his sterio and realocate power. I got up this morning to find a totally fatigued crew and a couple of cadavers. But solar reactor power was higher than when I went to bed. So I was a little frustrated. I reactivated the reactor, got in a shuttle and went to buy a little radine to get them through the day until I could come back at lunch. Flew to the station, got it, flew back.... My estimed flight officer had turned off the launch control in my absence. I could not land. And I can't tell them to turn off the damn sterios and realocate power to the launch doors you HOLES!. So, unless there is a way to get back on board I've just wasted a whole night. Is there any way I can get a job and be paid to play this game. My work is really getting in the way of having a successful BCMG carrier. Exit your shuttle and re-enter your CC, manually turn on launch control. (If you don't know how to exit/enter a craft in first person, read the first person section of your Game Commands card).

"Sir, on route from my last mission I...ah...got lost, sir. The Navitron comp was disabled. I...er...mistook it for a microwave oven." "Well, that explains that messege from the chief engineer about cheese and tomato sauce in the circuit boards. You may...do whatever it is that you did, Commander...Whiny? Wipe-it?" "Whisper, sir. Commander Whisper." "Right. Whatever. Dismissed." /rp LOL...welcome home, can you grill salmon with that thing?
  11. quote:Originally posted by Tac: Derek, Epsilon5 just volunteered to translate the entire manual and PDF appendixes to french. Really, thats what he said LOL
  12. quote:Originally posted by mihau: Yes, it's possible to deploy sfm's in BCM. There's only one problem - I can't extract them if the shuttle returned to CC. If you leave it there with a halt order, your marines will find a way back to the shuttle and come aboard. Eclipse, I thought that might be the method you were hinting at but I remembered a number of issues with doing that like the one mihau mentions. I'll poke around with it this evening and post any oddities in Area 51.
  13. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: Cool sig Tyrn. . I want one just like it. Easy to do Chavik, just hop on down to the local GALCOM recruitment office and I'll pull a few strings!
  14. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: Now, however, IF you change this I'd hate to put my shuttle on top of drone 3 when I ordered it to pick up drone 1; only to find out drone 1 is in Asia and the shuttle will take hours to fly straight there to retrieve it.Exactly my thoughts as well, although I usually group them in the same small area just for ease of deployment/retrieval anyway.
  15. quote:Originally posted by Eclipse: Actually, tyrn, you can deply SFM's as well as extract them in space. Well, give some details Eclipse...don't just throw something like this out there without details. Now I have to go work on the how of this little addition until you pipe up.
  16. quote:Originally posted by Private Cyberoket: Does "recreating" it mean start a new game and report the exact steps needed to reproduce the CDT in question?Yes. You don't have to recreate the same IN GAME situation, you just have to be able to recreate the crash itself in a new game.
  17. quote:Originally posted by John Stone: Also, does anyone know how to speed up the passage of time in the game. Real-time is cool, and great, but most sims provide a way to speed up time, especially for travel or waiting at a base / planet / systems / etc for attackers. Traveling on the surface of the planet can become a real bore as hour upon hour of nothing to do but fly in empty airspace drags on until arrival. I've actually gone to bed once waiting for things to happen, got up in the morning to resume. Repairs and mining would also be great benefactors of such a sped up time passage. If such a feature is not built into the game, it should be. Would there then be any way to 'tweak' the game to make it do such?In the start menu folder for BCMG, you'll find a sub-folder called docs. This is where all the documentation is hidden (you can also find it in the install folder in a sub-folder called....docs). Read the Troubleshooting FAQ (file bcmgfaq.html) and search for cheat. WARNING, the -cheat commandline is not officially supported. Use it at your own risk.
  18. quote:Originally posted by Shadow: I have noticed occassions where several marines engage in space combat around orbitting stations, and I am unable to deploy assistance in the extermination of the assailants. Is there some particular method to deploying my space marines, or has this ability been prohibitted in BCMG? It seems kinda silly to have a military force capable of doing this kind of combat, to watch the combat, but not be able to deploy forces to join (or speed up) the combat. On the same note, I have managed to capture several enemy stations, but what do you do about the remaining supply stash? You can't seem to destroy it, collect it, or anything else. Is there a way to capture it? Topic moved Space marines cannot be deployed. If you want to clean up the the enemy marines, might I suggest STS-Questors? Do you mean the supply station? No those cannot be captured nor can they be destroyed.
  19. Shuttles have extremely fast recharge times (on the median of 30 seconds, if I remember correctly). CCs tend to be much longer. And this is all covered in the appendix as has been mentioned.

HMMM...are you talking about a trojan as in software or a Trojan as in latex? Seriously, that site hurt my eyes as soon as I opened it. 24. quote:Originally posted by Damean: I started as a STARCARRIER and for some reason my PTA System never fires even though i could be on top of an enemy. Is their a reason for this eg my Tactical Officer isn't that skilled to fire the system can anybody help with this Each CC has a unique PTA sweet spot. Find the sweet spot and you're sure to make a kill with PTA's alone. Be forewarned, however, that not all CC's are created equal and so a ship with three turrets will not be as deadly as a ship with more PTA turrets.
  25. Great read! Can't help on the BCMG issue but great read!
