  1. I might not get it but as I haven't seen either Matrix flick I think I have an excuse.
  2. You can eyeball the sweet spots using BC studio but I would then suggest tesing your theory out on an enemy ODS. I don't believe that the actual firing arc is viewable anywhere as an image, I could very well be wrong on that though.
  3. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: ack! I need to probably plug that I think. You shouldn't be able to send prisoners to any location other than detention hold. What I'll do is plug that hole, then allow the stations to search support crafts for prisoners when you dock. I'm just going to throw in my 2 cents: I liked be able to send prisoners to the medibay to be patched up before putting them in the brig for eventual transfer to station security. I understand the reasoning behind removing some of the orders that could be issued to prisoners (piloting a shuttle with a prisoner is a very good example of a clear exploit) but beaming a prisoner down for marine target practice is actually something I would expect a Raider to do. What's my point? I'd like to see a limited amount of prisoner ordering. I know that's borderline whish list, so I'll quietly walk away now and pretend that I wasn't even here.
  4. quote:Originally posted by Pugwash: only in my case I have them up on another PC html and JavaScript (still not converted the javascript for other browsers yet. IE only) WOW....You win. Yup, you win. PS...works as is under Moz 1.3.1
  5. In the same vein as Chavik: You know that a Y as in Procon vs Procyon makes a galaxy worth of difference. You have maps showing both locations visible from your computer. You reference those maps during game play rather than the Navitron because your maps have notes attached that the Navitron doesn't.
  6. quote:Originally posted by aggressor27: Are you being controlled by advertizements? Does Corporate America imbed ideas and thoughts into your head, subconsiously forcing you to spend your hard earned money to indirectly fund them? Do you really care?! Me neither, but these are interesting, actually. The plus side: it's a great way to waste time while you wait for that webpage about Equus Caballus: Mating Habits to load since it's bandwidth is so crappy during peak hours. Watch, and enjoy this Flash about subliminal messages in advertizing. It's only about a minute long. And the wierdest and most surprising one is the second to last ad from a mom-and-pop type grocery store. You have just earned a spot on the the Falcon's most wanted list. Now please excuse me, I have to change.
  7. quote:Originally posted by Kasey Chang: Actually, I *think* I resolved it. There is this separate screen where you can see your crew and their locations (NOT Crew under Tactical) and not Perscan, and somehow you can order the prisoners around from THAT screen, but not the Crew screen. After a bit of fiddling there, the prisoners are moving themselves (huh?) from SHUTTLE 1 to Detention Hold. How, exactly, do you get to this mystery screen?
  8. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Besides, nobody's going to ban you for politely expressing an opinion. Polite being, of course, the key point there.
  9. quote:Originally posted by Ghostrider: Hi I have a serious situation. I was playing tod2/m5 the one one about the rescue of a doctor and after they were save on board I saved the game. When I hit resume it took me to the new game page. Same thing if I use restore. Acording to the folders in 3000ad the games are there. Can anyone tell me how I can load them again? Thank you Here's something you can try which has worked once for me. I will warn you though: This is NOT officially sanctioned support I'm offering. IF it works, great. If not, thems the breaks. Copy the files in the save folder to a new folder Note the number of the save files (like player0.x) Start a new game in the same slot as the number of the save game files (first slot = 0, second = 1 and so forth) Save and Exit the game and then quit to desktop Move your copied files back into the save game directory Start your game back up and hope this worked. I repeat, this is not an official nor a sanctioned method to restore your game. It's just something that worked in a pinch for me.
  10. There are now five (unless I've missed someone?) Wraiths among the beta testers: Emmett, Whisper and myself (there was one other, but he gave in to the dark side ) from days of yore and now Bandus and Dreada. Congratulations gentlemen, congratulations. PS, Yes, I know that this is somewhat old news but it came out as I was preparing to leave so I didn't have a chance to really do this justice (IOW, I was having a hard time tying my own shoes) at the time.
  11. Although a bit scraggly I am home and life is good and well again.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Grizzle: I think the music in BCMG is great, but I prefer to play in silence. I do the same for most games I play. I'll listen to the soundtrack for a few sessions then turn it off. In BCMG I want to hear the background noise and other game sounds to help with the immersive experience, in other games (mostly FPS) I want to hear each footstep and other sounds to know where my enemy is. You know what else I think BCMG music would be good for... hang gliding...though I never have done it myself, it seems like it would be a great fit. I treat the music just like I do at home, when I'm busy with commander type stuff, it's off. When I'm playing on a planet surface or making a quick run in a shuttle, I go into config and turn it back on.
  13. quote:Originally posted by DREADA: But when you've stopped counting your number of posts and **WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME** have successfully used the search function to resurrect a thread at least two years old and still posted, you're on your way!! LOL n00bism ends the moment you read someone's post and think to yourself: Silly n00b Be kind, he's a n00b What a n00b! I remember doing that when I was a n00b!
  14. quote:Originally posted by Talen: I am writing to figure out what people are doing in the downtime between intergalactic trips. For instance, when I am taking my ship through 11 or so jump points, I map it in the navitron and hit autopilot. I cannot leave and let it do its thing as situations can come up during the transit that needs to be monitored. There is only so many times you can double check your engineers and marines. I personally try and RP it, being a new commander and all, and use the time to read the manual over and over. I picture the commander sitting at the ready mulling over status reports and all. However, some of the more veteran commanders are probably well versed in the manual so I am curious as to what everyone else does. Do you just stare at your screen? I catch up on the forums on a second machine or whatever...I just make sure the speakers are loud enough for me to know if there is a problem that actually involves my craft or crew.
  15. Welcome ThinkAtomic to the fleet. He's assigned to the Wraith Wing.
  16. I've been running myself ragged the last week in the real world. Normally, I'd just slate two days as BC and go take over the Gammulan Quadrant. This time I'm just wandering off into the wilderness (literally) for a week. No cell phones, no laptops, just a fishin' pole, a can of worms and a knife (well a wee bit more actually but you get the idea). I'll be back on Thursday of next week.

    Wraith Roster

quote:Originally posted by DREADA: I remember conjuring up a roster some time back for WHQ... perhaps I could dig it up Quickly, Fleet Wars are coming soon. PS, the thread's called Wraith Roster only because Roll Call's make me nuts
  19. Hopefully, you have all read this and this. As such, it's time to sign the roster folks. Post what you're running (BCM or BCMG) and whether you can host a server for small skirmishes. If you're looking to joing Wraith Fleet, send email requesting permission to join. You must be registerd on the forums to join. All new recruits are automatically assigned to Wraith Wing. Cannot host a server...yet. I need to do some testing tonight and tomorrow. [ 06-02-2003, 03:56 PM: Message edited by: Tyrn ]

  21. quote:Originally posted by Shado: In BCMG how do you deploy a cargo pod into space?Currenlty, cargo pods can ONLY be deployed into space via a shuttle. Climb into a shuttle, load it with the cargo you want to deploy, launch. Click the cargo icon in the shuttle HUD, select the cargo you want to deploy and transfer it to a cargo pod. Note the shiny new cargo pod spinning in space.
  22. Also went to see this with the family yesterday. I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. As mentioned, the CG work is breath-taking (no pun indented). Make sure that you stay until the very very very end of the credits, while there aren't any out-takes - yet - the antics of the "cast" with the scrolling credits are fun for all and the last morsel with Chum's (shark with the hook in his head) fishy friend is worth a good belly laugh. 9/10 The first half is too slow for younger kids and they get restless. The second half so entertaining that even my 4 month old didn't even wiggle. Dory: Hey, you speak whale! Whish I could speak whale. The audience about busted a gut. <rant> One note, I was very upset at the previews, A) they took nearly 20!! minutes. The first one was for Pirates of the Caribbean. While it looks to be a flick I want to see, decaying pirates marching across the screen freaked out my kids. Nemo's a kids' show, what fool thought it a good idea (ethically not marketing wise) to throw such a preview on the screen?! Morons </rant>
  23. quote:Originally posted by Eclipse: That is what Tractor beams are for kinda like a nonlethal way to break up a fight I just send in a fighter to harry the offender(s) and once the fighter has their attention, I recall the fighter. The offenders follow the fighter, giving their target time to safely exit the scene, and when my fighter docks the offenders have no one else to harass and usually issue an RTB. The only exception is if the offender is in a fighter, those I disable as they just don't seem to get it...ever.
  24. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: Unless they are a neutral race to you but a raider. I hate those b@astards. Target something friendly and you'll get "I'm picking up a signal from that target Kara" if close enough. My worst nightmare is a merc or assassin targeting a diplomat. Ignoring that is a good way for a MIL aligned player to end up in negative EPs fast.
