  1. I went in expecting a very cheesy B-Type movie. It was (Nothing wrong with those every once in a while)! I liked it a lot, some parts were very funny even if they weren't ment to be. The movie trailer accurately represents the movie. If you got a laugh from the preview trailer (like I did) you should also enjoy the full movie.

You can even command the uniquely massive Stormcarrier Super Carrier if you so desire! For fun things to try out as this Race/Caste, get a lot of money, buy OTS missiles, and complete a massive assult on the planet called Earth.

My advice for those people, get something else to do to fill up your time.LOL, so true.

I sure am paying them enough to go there, might as well get some of my money's worth and put up a BCM server using their bandwith. [ 07-13-2002, 10:31 PM: Message edited by: LordDavid ]
  8. Saw it and I liked it though one disappointment.... Warning: Kind of a spoiler..... I was expecting some massive dragon vs military war to happen, but it never did. It would have been cool if they showed a big machine vs dragon battle, or the dragons reigning terror on big cities instead of just showing some Time Magazine covers of it happening.
  9. My 1 Ghz Thunderbird with Geforce 3 runs everything I have great at 1024x768 or higher with full detail (everything besides Morrowind that is, but it IS perfectly playable at least.) I usually don't think of upgrading until systems are at least twice as fast as my current one, and right now AMD hasn't quite reached 2 GHz yet. [ 07-13-2002, 06:46 PM: Message edited by: LordDavid ]
  10. I agree with you all the way on what you just said Dredd.
  11. Ok, I'll be the leader that I am and step up and go first. From what I read of the documents, there is NO NDA. It says though that you can not take screen shots of the game and send them out, nor reverse engineer it. Thats bacically it. They had no NDA for me to accept to play the beta. If I get kicked, then oh well, no loss to me. I played the beta for about 4 hours total and I think I've played enough of it. I have NO desire to play it any more. I just don't think it is that FUN. Games are made to entertain, to make us have fun. I just don't think this is all to fun. First off, it is EXACTLY like Everquest in space but with more missions to do. I had the strangest sense of Deja Vu. You go around, kill stuff, get experience points, raise your skill, repeat. Sound familiar? Now where have I done this before? Nothing new here, I've played it all before. The combat is also like Anarchy Online and Everquest, I don't think it works the best with space ships. So much for that huge realtime furball. Second, its skill based. See my rant in the topic "Showdown in cyberspace" Third, I feel limited in this compared to even BC3k. You only get to fly a 1 person fighter. No big battlecruiser for you with multiple support craft, no crew to manage, etc. So to sum it up, I would not pay $10 a month to play this. Thats all I have to say for now. I'm going back to playing BCM. Nuff said. [ 07-12-2002, 03:00 PM: Message edited by: LordDavid ]
  12. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: [*]I am going to have dedicated servers that don't cater to all that rank/skill based nonsense if you don't want to pay attention to it. You logon, you play, you logoff. And since you can have more than one persona, you can have separate characters on different servers.Sounds good to me. Rant mode ON. I don't like the skill based nonsense of Everquest, Anarchy Online, E&B, and mostly all other MMORPG's out there. It dosen't make sense to me why you have to kill something to get better at non combat abilities. This is what I like about Daggerfall, Morrowind, and even Ultima Online more than Everquest. You get better at what you practice and not have to just kill something to get better at a totally different skill. Look at what they said IN the Daggerfall game manual that came out in like 1995(?). "One of the biggest differences between Daggerfall and other role-playing games is the method for tabulating experience. It never made sense to us that a thief became a better thief after killing a troll, but he would never become better at lockpicking, no matter how much he practiced, until he killed another troll. If a thief practices and uses his backstabbing, lockpicking, climbing, and pickpocketing skills, he will become a better thief." Also with the skill based characters of Everquest, it takes practically no skill at all. You just click rapidly on enemies weaker than you, you win, you get better, and you can attack stronger enemies. If you want to see the more cool stuff in the game, you need to spend ungodly amounts of time to get your level up high enough. If BCO has no skill increasing stuff, then people will have to actually use skill and BRAIN POWER to make a difference. People will have to form into groups/fleets if they want to make a big difference in the world. With no skill based leveling this will prevent people who have no life and spend 24/7 playing the game becoming unfairly superior to those who just casually play the game for fun. 13. Things on this board are going a bit slow now, but will most likely pick up when the multiplayer patch comes out. Anyway, for the time being I would like to get a count of all the currently active among our ranks; so all Gammulans and other commanders who are going to, or are very strongly considering having a Gammulan AE, post here. If you post here and it is not reguarding the above, your messasge will most likely be deleted. [ 07-14-2002, 12:42 AM: Message edited by: LordDavid ]

  16. Happy Birthday.........Fellow Gammulan
  17. I think it would be fun to have a MASSIVE Gammulan VS. GALCOM war. Then throw in the Insurgents, nah, throw in every other race. Lets have a massive universal war with everyone getting involved with various motives. Gammulans are trying to conquer earth, GALCOM trying to defend earth, Insurgents kind of sort of using this oppertunity to take advantage of GALCOM when they are pre occupied, GALCOM's allies come to aid GALCOM. The Zelons use the massive war to earn a profit selling supplies to the highest bidder. And who knows what devious plans the Syrions are thinking up. Lastly, the Empirians smuggle the ale into the scene and host a big party for the winner. This sounds something like the Federation VS. Dominion war from Star Trek: DS9. The Dominion trying to beat the Federation, jumped through the wormhole and captured DS9. Eventually the Federation drove them back. Then the Dominion came back with the aid of the Cardassians. The Klingons fought along side with the Federation, etc,etc etc. One big party with everyone getting involved some how. All the Fleet leaders could get together and plan one big Roleplaying scenerio, start it off, and let it play out based on every player's actions. And once the scenerio plays out, John Ballingar can write a book about it. The possibilities with this great game are limitless. (I don't know about you, but I'm getting pumped just thinking of all of this!) [ 07-11-2002, 02:04 PM: Message edited by: LordDavid ]

I think he will make up some diffrent name to use.I think he will advertise his rank (and cheating abilities ). The bulk of BC players are allied with GALCOM. GALCOM players would not attack their own Supreme Commander. Now Gammulans (and Insurgents) on the other hand... . If he makes a different name I bet I know what it would be......... (Warmonger).
