  1. Guess I missed something, been very ill since last Thursday not seen anything in 3kchat mailings about Shingens forum / site since Remos objection to it and your reply that it was ok dated 30 October that's a month ago now. Was something posted you objected to because the reasons given don't seem to ring true? Looks like I'd better remove my site then as I don't have "expressed written permission" nor am I in the BC web ring
  2. quote:Originally posted by Fred-Z: but now i have a real problem. almost all my crew is tired, but when they stay in "off duty" the fatigue factor increase like on-station. this factor only increase, my crew will start to die. N.B. The most probable reason for this is your CC still has battle damage check PERSCAN and see if the crew members are getting to their respective quarters. Only if they reach their quarters will FF reduce. quote:Originally posted by Triton: I noticed that too... When I let my mining drones run overnight, I usually put all non-essential personnel (everyone) in the medibay because their fatigue rises while off-duty. I thought this was because there wasn't enough space in the quarters, but I checked and there are just enough rooms. FF does not rise if crew are truly off duty, it will reduce. To check this start a new roam game command career with the cheat parameter added to the shortcut Once launched from the station open PERSCAN and press SHIFT+T to elapse time. Now watch your crews location, AI, FF, HF, how these values change and how they rotate under the instructions of the officers. I tend to micro manage the Officers and Pilots i.e. send them off duty when FF reaches 10 but I let the officers manage the rest of the crew.
  3. Adding the cheat parameter to the Target line of the shortcut works fine i.e. code:"C:Program Files3000ADBattlecruiser Millennium FREEWAREbcm.exe" -cheatIf you have done it correctly the word "CHEAT" will be displayed top right of the screen while in game. This is the hot spot for the drop down cheat menu. Shift+T will then advance time at a greater speed.
  4. It reminded me of this Topic: Do you know Jack? I just had to search and find that link again now whatever happened to that mad cow flash.
  5. Although the order looked like it failed to process correctly I received an e-mail conformation for the manual and keyboard sheet order time stamped 19:36 so every things ok
  6. I had multiple session time outs then an exception when I tried to order quote: type Exception report message description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request. exception javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet execution threw an exception root cause java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/bmtmicro/orders/CardProcessor com.bmtmicro.orders.OrderProcessor.processOrder(OrderProcessor.java:762) com.bmtmicro.orders.OrderProcessor.doPost(OrderProcessor.java:113) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:709) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802) note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the Apache Tomcat/5.5.9 logs. Guess I have to wait a couple of days and try again.
  7. Just spotted this (Warning: Don't Buy This Game ) over at DC. I'm not totally sure the posters actually talking about UC although its posted in a UC thread their boards never been the same since it got "hacked" The reason I question this is he say he paid $40 for a game that had a MSRP of $19.99 more than a year after its release. What the hell I voted yes anyway
  8. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: He's going for the record. In fact, I'm quite surprised that you folks haven't restricted his posting rights yet. Perhaps we're just waiting for the full on perma-ban? I was so close to deleting his (Cmdr GamKiller) profile He's just so lucky I decided to read it before deleting it. As he has taken the trouble to setup a web site and has filled his profile with appropriate information apart from the missing GRI from his signature I guess I can wait a couple more days for him to read, digest and follow the rules of the board. As he is trying to join the Insurgency Jamotto will be trying to whip him into shape.
  9. @ Cmdr GamKiller Way to go 11 posts and 9 deleted already . It's a bit pointless asking me a question via PM then adding me to your ignore list so I can't reply. The answer to you question is contained in this link Topic: Do NOT post without a valid Game Registration Info in your sig! just read the SC s post especially this link it contains Topic: How to add your system profile to your forum sig

    Script CTD

quote:The #1 rule for using my tools, is to know wtf you're doing.but you wont know what you're doing until you've been tooling around. bit of a catch 22 situation there.

    Script CTD

quote:I did reproduce one problem every time, and eliminated it from the script.Well what was the lines of code that caused the problem or was it an programming/logic error on your part?

    Script CTD

quote:Anyone else using GBS3 having intermittent Crash To Desktop problems? A script I was working on,and seemed to work just fine, now generates intermittent CTD's.Nope but then I haven't been doing any scripting lately. You know the drill by now you need to [*]identify the exact cause. [*]be able to reproduce it every time [*]get the problem verified by someone else. First rule of thumb when this sort of thing happens [*]full uninstall, manual delete of dir, clean install [*]Re download GBS, extract files. You may have inadvertently changed one of the data files while viewing it. [*]Reparse script check the output for any warnings /errors as it parses. [*]Play script. quote: Never had a script that would compile (parse) successfully ever generate a CTD. I have particularly with GBS 1 and my first large script and again with a later version with code revisions / additions but back then we had access to the debug logs so tracking down the cause was easy quote: Plus, this is a simple script. If the above doesn't fix it cut it down and make it even simpler. i.e. cut and paste sections of your existing code into a new script create 1 NPC without orders etc keep building it up and playing until a problem occurs. I've not seen any reports of the original game scripts (ACM or IA) CTD with the latest RC so I would suspect the problem is at your end.
  13. Check the install directory for error logs *falerror.log, *debug.log or similar names. Try running in debug mode if its still supported edit the shortcut and add /d4 or /l4 param. levels are 1-5, 1 bing low 5 being highest. Check the debug log if one is created but at the end of the day if anything useful is found in the log it will only confirm the video card is not adequate. The is a subtle difference between something being compatible and compliant.
  14. Stilzkin may be confused with the difference between the OS running DX9.0c and having a video card that's DX8 compliant. I'd guess a 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 is DX6 (maybe DX7) compliant but certainly not DX8 or later.
  15. If your profiles details are correct though lacking most info the problem is your video card. I wouldn't have expected UC to even load with a "Nvidia Riva TNT2 model 64 plug and play" UC requires a minimum of a "32MB DirectX 8.1 compliant graphics card with Vertex Shader 1.1 or higher" Edit This thread UC Pixel and Vertex shader requirements is worth reading as is the link to a handy comparison chart on Beyond3D [ 02-05-2005, 02:14 PM: Message edited by: Pugwash ]
  16. Looks like DC got "hacked" saved this earlier today. Guess it will be a few hours before they get the board backup as it was.
  17. @Pyro Ok I've been into the registration database found your incomplete profile and added the link to your forum profile. Now all you need to do is go back to and login to your Game Registration update and complete the System Info. remember dxdiag.exe is your friend.
  18. Try Intel® Chipset Identification Utility it has two handy utilities. They will also work with none Intel manufactured motherboards. or get the bios string during bootup, if your getting a company logo / splash screen rather than a post screen you may need to go into the bios and disable it. Then visit somewhere like www.wimsbios.com and track down the chipset and manufacturer.
  19. This is the sort of thing that makes the SC and the rest of us quote:From the playmod.txt file distributed with GBS-II, QUICK START section Sample PLAYMOD files are included. A sample PLAYMOD1.BAT file is included in this archive. Here is how to use it. 1. Unzip this archive into your BCM folder where the game is installed 2. Start a ROAM or ACM game profile (or use an existing one). Launch and then quit the game. 3. Open up an MS-DOS session, go to the BCM install folder and execute PLAYMOD1.BAT You can also use Explorer or even create a shortcut for this file on your desktop. 4. Resume the game for all cheats in the PLAYMOD1.BAT file to work OK I'll admit that the document is not upto date it says unzip to the BCM folder but I don't think it would be to hard to realise that maybe you should just copy all the playmod files into BCMG installed folder and then continue with the Quick Start instructions Guess what file is also in that folder none other than the bcsetup.ini N.B. If your going to use your current game make a backup copy of the "SAVE" folder before you run playmod so you can go back. You can't use a playmod version designed for one version of the game with any other version.
  20. Has been discussed several times before.
  21. quote:Originally posted by dingbat91: playmod is not on the download pageGBS-II / GBS-III both contain a folder called Tools inside Tools is a folder called Playmod inside Playmod is a file called Playmod.txt read this file. Edit:2 Depending which distribution of GBS you have the Playmod.txt file may be in a subfolder named docs GBS-II for BCMG is included in the BCMG v1.01.02 (and above) patch from the file download page. GBS-III for UC is available to anyone who has registered a copy of the game via Register/Login page. EDIT:1 No longer available see this post It works the same way with UC as it does with BCMG, BCM and BC3K. Read Aidan Tylier's post or the included Playmod.txt file. I suggest you also follow the instructions in the Welcome.html (Read This Now!) before your posting privileges are removed. [ 10-24-2004, 04:10 PM: Message edited by: Pugwash ]
  22. quote:Originally posted by Darkness Incarnate: where do we get PlayMod? is it available for UC? Although not directed at you the advice given by the third post is still valid. quote:Originally posted by Kalshion: You're question can be answered by doing a search for 'playmod' You may then have come across this post concerning UC and GBS-III quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: I released this last night with the 2.00.16 patch. Check the registered user downloads page. This lite version is like GBS-II for BCM Gold and can only be used to create scripts. Nothing else. From time to time I can field questions here and will one day get around to actually documenting some of the script command usage in the gbsIII_qref.pdf file. Though the kernel is different, most of the tutorials in the GBS-II thread are valid. The distribution also includes: Sample scripts, the script parser, some docs BCStudio for viewing models. Copy bcstudio.exe and bcstudio.ini only, to the game install folder. Playmod for hacking cheats into an existing saved game. Copy playmod.exe to the game install folder. No, you cannot modify the INI files in the DATA folder. Try that and you will invalidate your game. EDIT: I have updated the VCF on the downloads page to reflect sample usage for the new commands included in the 2.00.16 GBS-III parser. I also re-uploaded the zip file. It now contains PTEstudio which can be used for finding mzone locations for planetside scripts. In case you missed it GBS-II 'Lite' was released with bcmg patch v1.01.02, bcmg_gbsII.zip which will have been placed in the game install folder.. quote: From BCMG VCF v1.01.02 - 02.28.04 GENERAL Now includes a limited version of the UNSUPPORTED GBS-II system for creating mission scenarios
  23. quote:Originally posted by James Cornell in a now deleted thread: UC features great and intense gameplay with stunning graphics and a boatload of awesome features. I only have one complaint for it, but it doesn't effect my outlook on the game itself. The original bc3000ad features much more whistles and bells. One namely was the eject sequence, and ability to control more aspects of units and supplies. UC doesn't feature many of the things the original did. If a new space simulator was made I would recommend basing the same aspects of UC and BC3000AD together. It would be really kickass! Anyways thanks Derek for such a great selection of games. I truely enjoy both UC and BC3K although I fear it wasn't as good as it should have been. I look forward to more of your games. -------------------- Owner of: Universal Combat, Battlecruiser 3000AD Computer specs: IBM Thinkcentre A30; 2.80GHz P4, 768MB PC2100 DDR, 128MB NVidia Geforce FX 5200 (2x + DVI) @ PCI, 120GB Western Digital 7200RPM IDE + 8MB Cache, Windows XP Professional SP2 multiboot Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 (Sarge) @ KDE + Gnome.
  24. Something is wrong at your end then, I have just tried downloading it and it's ok. The file should be called uc20013.zip try renaming the file you have. If you can then unzip it, it should contain 2 files the uc exe and a md5 checksum.
  25. What .php patch file, I thought all UC patch files are .exe or .zip What are you trying to patch? What is the full file name of the patch file? Where did you get the file from? "PHP Hypertext Preprocessor" is a server-side web scripting language for building dynamic and interactive web sites. So if you are trying to run a file with a .php extension you need a PHP enabled webserver. Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick, this has nothing to do with UC technical support and will be moved to another forum, but first I'll wait for your reply.
