  1. It "sounded" like you like you where having a good time. Took me a while to get my teamspeak started though. Kinda ccol though only picking up the radio traffic while you guys where engaged in battle.
  2. Do like to play though. But keep having to learn in the evening and do exams for work. If someone could send me a PM or mail when a MP-game is planned i can play (most likely in the weekends). If i have to check myself i fear i'll stay inactive.
  3. quote: Originally posted by Steve Schacher: Think of New England as Gammulan space and Texas as Galcom. California is the insurgency and Florida is the independent mercenary force. Illinois and Pennsylvania are the criminals and raiders. Does that help? Hmmm gotta to to ISS CIOPS about this. I got myself a very diffrent intel report. The states don't match.
  4. One of the few games i'd like to buy. I was just wondering if there were still some sims being made. I was just in the thread "What games are you looking forward to?" couldn't think of anything. But this is one 'll buy besides the UC/BC games.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I haven't bought anything recently but this is good game. quote: As I understand it, after you finish the campaign with one of the Roman factions, all of the other factions will be unlocked (according to PC Gamer anyway). Yeah got a whole lot the choose from now. The egyptian chariots where annoying. But now i can annoy someone else now sieging a city is cool. Great game.
  6. You need to read at least the gbsIII_docs.pdf. For details en some history on gbs scripting the gbsII docs and gbsII forum.
  7. Cool! Noticed you added some nice new scripting options (i.e.2.00.16)
  8. Just received this movie. Thought is was funny http://www.xs4all.nl/~mfxsfa/Voting_Machine.wmv
  9. Read about this in Michael Moore's : Stupid White Men. Maybe not unbiased but interesting anyway. United States Commission of Civil Rights: http://www.usccr.gov/pubs/vote2000/report/ch1.htm http://www.usccr.gov/pubs/vote2000/report/main.htm It has a lot of newspaper sources (Washinton Post, Newyork Times, The Nation, LA Times). This is from 2001 you'll have better books now i guess.
  10. Downloaded it (new version) i must say not a bad game. Played it for a coupla hours. I like the dawn - dusk transitions while you are playing the mission. launching flares against stingers is fun. 1st game (compared to OFP, BF1942, etc) where you can fly the chopper with keys kinda nice if you're not a simplayer.
  11. Was looking for some new sims but the're hard to find. Maybe Dangerous Waters will be cool. It looks cool anyway. Or fly a harrier since i can't recall having played a harrier-sim.
  12. I'm all for it!. Does this mean that a player won't be able to oversee the entire seamles mp region (from TACOPS)?
  13. A variation on the idea based on that of Shohasi and Scarlet. Think escort is cool too though. Capture(tow) the Flag(ship) Each time has an object in their region that should be towed by the other team to their won base. Team A (terran) has a ship_A near the starstation of Team A and Team B (gammulan) has to tow ship_A and deliver it to the starstation of Team B. On a succesful delivery it gets a point(or wins) and visa versa or based on a timer, Has to be near their base (or in their region) for 1-5 minutes. Same could be done on a planet. And if Team B has towed ship_A to their starstation and has towed ship_A_planet to their Starbase B then Team B wins.
  14. Yeah, but reading Tanenbaum's response is funny . http://www.cs.vu.nl/~ast/brown/
  15. It's nice for your ego but i doubt this test anyway. Like some said before they now increased the size of their spamdatabase and you can buy the report for $12.95. That's why i have a hotmail account. It should have a time constraint for each question. I assume my number will be significantly lower then. But it's fun. ---------------------------------------------- Your IQ score is 131 This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others. Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others ÔÇö and at anticipating and predicting patterns.

  17. Heh, cool. Looked for a link yesterday but didn't see one.
  18. GALCOM Command Vessel (GCV) Insurgent Command Vessel (ICV) Undesignated Command Vessel (UCV)

All new to me.
  20. Thought this was cool. Noticed this on http://slashdot.org.. It Think the X15 reached highest speed so far (in the atmosphere). "The X-15 aircraft made a total of 199 flights over a period of nearly 10 years from 1959 to 1968. It set unofficial world speed and altitude records of 4,520 mph (Mach 6.7) and 354,200 feet. Information gained from the highly successful program contributed to the development of the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo spacecraft and the Space Shuttle program." Maybe it i'll be different tommorow . "The unpiloted 12-foot-long X-43A vehicle, part aircraft and part spacecraft, will be dropped from the wing of a B-52 aircraft, lofted to nearly 100,000 feet by a booster rocket and released over the Pacific Ocean to briefly fly under its own power at seven times the speed of sound (almost 5,000 mph). The flight is part of the Hyper-X program, a research effort designed to demonstrate alternate propulsion technologies for access to space and high-speed flight within the atmosphere. Hyper-X is inherently a high-risk program. No vehicle has ever flown at hypersonic speeds powered by an air-breathing scramjet engine. In addition, the rocket boost and subsequent separation from the rocket to get to the scramjet test condition have complex elements that must work properly for the mission to be successful. View the live NASA TV Coverage which will begin at 12:00 p.m. PST on March 27, 2004." http://www.nasa.gov/ram/35037main_portal.ram
  21. How about a more futuristic approach (more BCMG/UC like )? Like a small version of this laser as defence or a vulcan mounted in te rear (like the CIWS: phalanx or goalkeeper). Airborne Laser: http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/abl/ http://www.fas.org/spp/starwars/program/abl.htm http://www.airbornelaser.com/pics-clips/turret_nose.html http://www.airbornelaser.com/whatsitdo/
  22. Sadly i didn't have that much time but someone (Cc ?) could have a go at this. I have to create some time to create some missions but creating time is harder than i thought. Anyway i should make this mission (it's not really finished) harder but i like to see some people take swings at this and have some nice ideas for missions. Place it in the C:Program FilesDreamCatcher3000ADUniversal Combatmods http://www.xs4all.nl/~mfxsfa/aegismod_scenarios.zip Instant Action : IA220 [rescue pows] btw: can't add topic in GBSIII so i placed it here.
  23. Seems the u-35 has some (plasma)stealth features. Well that shows how much i know http://www.stormpages.com/jetfight/wwwboard/2061.html Its Radar. (When) will it detect a stealth fighter? Su-35 Radar, which can be assumed to be the starting point for the Su-37,has a range capability put at 400 km (220 nm) for air targets and 200 km (110 nm) for ground targets. It has expanded its simultaneous track capability from 10 to 15 air targets and can engage up to six all at once. The radar also has a low altitude terrain following / avoidance capability. It will have the ability to operate in "group combat actions" which tells me it will have aircraft-to-aircraft data link in conjunction with the Su-30 or MiG-31. It also will undertake the "Effective suppression of current and future air defense electronic systems" which tells me that it will utilize on board defensive warning and active jamming systems as well as the capability to employ some or all of the many ARM air-to-surface missiles developed by the Russians. http://www.sci.fi/~fta/Su-27.htm And also interesting: MIG-39/1.42 MFI (plasma stealth) http://www.warfare.ru/?linkid=1608&catid=255 and S32/37 Golden Eagle http://www.warfare.ru/?token=|26387107&catid=255&linkid=1609
