  2. I generally i launch missiles first until its shield is breached and finish him with lasers. Don't shoot until you're really close 'cos he will jink once he sees lasers pass his cockpit . Check this topic http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...ic;f=3;t=000140
  3. I found my copy on my desk today Gonna install tonite.
  4. UPS was at my door but i wasn't there : ( Will have on monday i think.
  5. Just ordered mine. Kinda late. Anyway Gallion and Gum you're gonna keep us up to date right ? I wanna know what's it's like multiplay before i get my game [ 04-09-2003, 12:18 PM: Message edited by: Mano Faber ]
  6. My intial response was "MAKES NO DIFFERENCE TO ME EITHERWAY" however when i think about it some more you the fans should just buy it. I mean think about it a hardcore game like this how many have been released recently? How many are there going to be released? (waiting for www.lo-mac.com though) I 've got a lot of games of the Janes series but you should check www.janes.ea.com now!. Games like this are just not that profitable (generaly speaking). Check the price of updates/missionpacks for mission Ghost Recon , BF1942 or OFP. I think think we should just buy it.
  7. Suggest you move your message to BC Game Builder System discussions. It has a bunch of scripting examples. [ 12-28-2002, 08:00 AM: Message edited by: Mano Faber ]
  8. Check it out! the Marauder is waaaay too cool! You can provide excellent support with this baby. Can't wait for this one
  9. I really like the idea of teamplay. I've been thinking about and you've removed some of my fears 3. i'm for point (b)anyone going through a DJP will be invincible to weapons fire for a period time and they cannot use their weapons either. quote: 5. Since most threat units in mp will be player controlled (e.g. if a SAL is firing, it means someone is in it), it is going to be up to both sides to protect their assets. Does this include BCM? I think you need airdefences for the offensive force as well (like in domination). Assuming people will not fly HAGs/LAGs all the way to attack the enemy base i think they have a clear disadvantage. Assume the enemy base goes on the defense they can attack the friendly groundforces with fighters,HAGs,LAGs and enemy groundforces. If it also has static airdefences it makes it even worse. Maybe a static/mobile SAL/SAM near the spawnpoints might compensate. AI or player controlled. The FAQ says: USE OF THREAT ASSETS NO that's why i ask. 6. I think it should be an "armoured train". They will score a lot of points if they destroy the shuttle. Maybe using smaller a shuttle (4-8 players/OCs) with a higher rotation will stop them from attacking the "shuttle-train". Interesting 13 points. Will think about it some more. [ 10-06-2002, 03:48 PM: Message edited by: Mano Faber ]

Hi Sebbit, Just uploaded a script so you can some surfing. It takes off and it keeps flying circles on farstar. You can install one of these ways: Make a backup of the scenarios.zip file in C:Program Files3000adBattlecruiser Millenniumdata and copy this scenarios.zip here. The shuttle flies lower with this scenarios.zip. It only has 1 bcia-mission so you have to replace this file with the orginal scenarios.zip if you want to play the original missions. scenarios.zip or you can download the bcia0035.zip and extract it in C:Program Files3000adBattlecruiser Millenniumscripts it leaves the orignal missions intact but it flies at a much higher altitude. bcia0035.zip If i have more time i'll make some "real" mission scripts. Have fun surfing

I think I have an idea what kind of mod you're trying to create....and I know it involves my new navigate command Ok, thanks will do that . quote: Dunno if this has anything to do with anything but gmax is like a poor mans version of 3d studio max and you can import 3ds files to it and edit em.. I think it might be useful. -------------------- "The simple things are always hard." System Profile Info Thanks Carl, but i've tried this already some time ago. It looks good but it's the exporting to the .3D format that gives me trouble. In the GBS-kit there is a plugin to convert to .3D from .MAX. (i think) Gmax export only to gmax-format or you'll have to buy the developers edition for more and we're back where we started. Unless i'm mistaken but i think the .3D format is specialy for the Battlecruiser series so if i want to use it in the game i'll have to have a .3d object.
  13. Don't know if the offer still stands but can someone look at models like: a tent (camp), bridge, tank, gunship , ship, and a guardtower? or just a tent to start with. I looked for 3d studio max but is way over of my budget. I found a site with lots of 3DS models it's at: http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/meshes.asp
  14. Excellent, just got me a AMD XP1900+ to test it. [ 06-22-2002, 09:18 AM: Message edited by: Mano Faber ]

Yeah, you should see my friend's logs.. he got megs of logs from DoS attacks either from people or Code Red-type viruses. That tends to slow down his internet conection... and he has the same as mine (120kb/16kb kilobytes no kilobauds) Don't know if it's useful but i like snort Intrusion Detection System a lot. Can create big logfiles though if you log all packets. It is opensource and has various rulesets. Detects CodeRed, Nimda, portscan with superscan, nmap etc. Works on most unix verions an on windows too. snort
  16. quote: Originally posted by Jaguar: And Mano, you had better check those tax rates again, you're a little off I believe. Your tax rates are from 33% to 60% of income, based on Income level. This is just personal income tax, then you must add the corporate income tax of 35%, which of course as a consumer you pay as well. Hehe, you're absolutely right. I didn't want to go into details but i was doubt if i should use a fourth or a third. The 60% has been changned to 52%, see it's much better - which is only for the higher incomes -.
  17. Originally posted by Epsilon 5: In Canada, you have welfare itself, and "working insurance". You get working insurance when you lose your job and wait for another, or when you have a seasonal job ... working insurance gives you about 2/3 (I think) of what you got when you were working (average). In Holland this about the same. Unemployment insurance: It's about 70% of your last earned wage. You need to have worked for at least 5 years to have the right to use it longer than 6 months. Welfare itself is for when you cannot work before quite a while for some reason. You get the "survival minimum", which is somewhat lower than the minimum wage. In both situations, whenever possible the government will try to get you off and make you work, which is normal. Same here. Other kinds pf "funding" you can get is the family allowance, which is an amount of money given which depends on the age and number of kids you have and the income the family has. It's a booster for lower income families, which we actually get here at home. Same here, we call it "child support". It's for additional cost that come with education etc. The odd thing is it is doesn't depend on income as all other "insurances" do. But wait there's more , this will be a nightmare for some ( or most) of you , additional "collective insurances" - insurances that are available to everyone - such as; healtcare insurance: If you have to go to the doctor, dentist, or have a broken leg. disabilty insurance: I you are a carpenter and you have accident, fell of a roof, he now has a tranverse lesion and is unable to continue his work as a carpenter. Elderly insurance: If you're above 65 you receive a basic-pension. Education: Is free upto 16 after that you'll (most likely the parents) have pay about USD1000 + books a year. If you go higher education or go universities this is much higher. You'll have to loan and/or work for it. In additon you'll have a scholarship which depends on the salary of your parents and if you live at home (with your parents) or near the campus/city of the univercity. They also have a card to freely use public transportation with some resticions. So i guess we already have a welfare-state and i support it . I think for the average taxplayer (s)he has to pay a fourth of his monthly gross salary. I've seen may definitions but i would like use the definition by my websters dictionary: "...Democratic solialism stresses the political aspect , accepting a compromise in the economic field between state and private enterprise. All forms of the theory (solcialism) agree in being opposed to the uncontrolled capitalism and seeking equality of opportunity for all members of the community" It doesn't have to be "equal" but it has to b "fair" if it comes to healthcare or education , which had too many budgetcuts here. I also believe the state should keep a close eye on the public services such as public transportation, powersupply, waterdistribution since the last two are vital in todays world. I don't see how competition could give me "better water" or "better electricity" or they should always be good. Btw, I'm a liberal, if you haven't noticed. Me too, i wouldn't use liberal though. I associate them with the more conservative "liberals" here. So my question to you. Which service of the services above are you willing to pay for for your people any why? or why not? ps: Jaguar you're welcome to live in our country oh and you aready gave some indication of your salary some threads ago Btw if you think the taxes are high you hust do what some rich dudes do. You let your money go through Cyprus (company resides here) they have low(er) taxes and The Netherlands has some kinda trade-agreement so you don't have to play taxes here. Well maybe it has changed (with EU) but that is how i know someone did it in the past. He worked in Saudi Arabia for a while or some other rich people got to Belgium just a few miles from the Dutch border.
  18. I really like music so i buy a CD quite often but i didn't notice the "doesn't play on PC/MAC" label. I noticed it at home. I was kinda pissed to see them restricting my freedom. First thing i did was to booted my machine in linux (engineer habbit if someone says it can't be done you need to test it if it's true ) , it thought they might have added some win32 program on the 1st track or something. It keeps spinning in the CDROM. However my A-Open DVD/CDROM player has a "play" button so it works just fine. I don't need software to start the CD. Once it has started playing you can do a "refresh" of mplayer-like tool and it will see the tracks (RIP-tool) works too though. I really don't like these restrictions i found a workaround though . With some trouble i now have made me a backupcopy. Just some time ago my lifehouse CD was damaged on track 6 ( forgot to put my disc-man on shock-protection ) and a made a backup. This is the one i put in my car now. My backupcopy "does play on PC/MAC adn windows" so i can play my music while i'm editing/scripting or browsing the net.
