  1. Final Fantasy 10: PS2, all 3D Final Fantasy 11: Supposedly for PC as a multiplayer game, possibly MMOG. Final Fantasy 12: Never heard of it. Of course, I could be getting confused with FF11. There're so many!
  2. quote:* Spuzzum is well-learned in the arts of Final Fantasy. However, he is also confused as to how if it is "Final", how in the HELL can they have 12 finals?! I can field this one. Back in the 1980's, when video games began to emerge, Enix released its series known as DragonQuest (Dragonwarrior in the US, the first RPG for NES). Well, Enix was doing extremely well. They were the first company to churn out some quality RPG games, and Squaresoft was quickly being buried under. Squaresoft was running on fumes when they decided to create a game on a last-ditch-effort, having nearly no finances left, but wanting to leave their mark in the RPG industry. Since the company had nearly no hopes of survival, they gave the game the name "Final Fantasy," since it would be their supposedly final game. Fortunately enough, the game sold quite well, pulling Squaresoft back into competition with Enix. Final Fantasy didn't sell nearly as well as DragonQuest, but the numbers were high enough to keep Square on its feet. Thus, being so successful with one Final Fantasy, the company continued to churn out more and more of these phenomenal games. While Squaresoft might not have gone under twelve times in a row, they simply want to keep a tradition of good RPG's. Does that answer your question?! [ 07-03-2001: Message edited by: Delgard ]
  3. Nintendo didn't really make that many Final Fantasy games with Squaresoft... only three for the major consoles. Playstation took the rest because of the better graphics and could playback movies.
  4. No, the movie is not related to any of the other Final Fantasy games. Any of them. The movie is set much farther in the future than any of the games ever were, for Nintendo, Playstation, PC, or Gameboy. quote:Or am I just totally wacked? Yes.
  5. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: In fact, I intend on making an Orion battle training pack. Hey... that sounds nice.
  6. Excellent demo. I like the much better speed and graphics. However, I keep running into these problems: After reentry burn, the tail fins and one of the PTA turrets of the BC-Mk2 floats above the model for the rest of the time I play. In some collisions during FP, my gear falls around their legs and ankles, and the character animations stop. This happened in Ep. 1 as well in space. Jaggies around Alderon in 16 bit. Flashing ground when close. During cloaking and hyperjump, model looks like set of pleated window blinds and doesn't fade right (could be my drivers) No contrails. I like the flames though. The drivers for my vid card (STB Velocity 4400) that I am using are the Detonator 12.40 Reference. They are not beta. Aside from all these, awesome demo! Much better than the last.
  7. quote:First off, if you care about old DOS games, don't go Win ME! Win ME doesn't support DOS games at ALL. That's not true. I have Win ME and even a game like BC3000AD seems to work better than it did in Win 98SE. I've also tried many other games that need "pure DOS" and came out around 1992 and they too seem to work fine in Win ME. Mostly. But this could just be me. [ 06-16-2001: Message edited by: Delgard ]
  8. I second that. While I don't own a Radeon, Windows ME has yet to give me any problems with BC3000AD. In fact, I personally think it runs better than Windows 98SE. Could just be me though.
  9. Client? As in Earthlink, my service, or my program like Outlook Express?
  10. Need a little help here... I was assigned an orionfleet.com address, but I can't seem to access it! Some error comes up saying my password was rejected. Any suggestions?
  11. I see the huge BCM box at Electronics Boutique, and I have now laid my money down for the game. I'm not wasting any time to get this game. I have no idea about the popularity of the game in my area, so I figure it's a good idea to pre-pay and guarantee myself a copy a soon as it hits the shelf. Anyone else feel the same with me here? Or are you waiting for something else...? [ 06-08-2001: Message edited by: Delgard ]
  12. Perhaps it's all part of some elaborate setup... Nah...
  13. You said "acquisition range." You can gain lock on any target pretty far away, but until the label in the HUD changes to "LOCK" the missile is just too far away to fire correctly. Acquisition range is just when the missile can "see" the target. If that little label in the HUD says "LOCK" and you fire, but still no hit, then the target could have: Shot the missile down with a PTA laser or missile (stations, usually; PTA beams are hard to see) Moved out of range (if the target is mobile) Used ECM until the missile exhausted itself trying to chase the target, thus self-detonating ...I hope that answered your question. If none of the above seems apparent, then, I don't know what is wrong with your missiles. Perhaps you can return your missiles to get a refund. [ 06-05-2001: Message edited by: Delgard ]
  14. It's very, very likely. 700MB can cram in a lot of compressed data.
