Let's say I watch the 1st movie in London at 3pm, it will finish around 6pm, then to the airport by 7pm. Take off with concorde around 8pm, get to NY JFK at around 5.30pm. Custom and security check and find a cab. Should be in Manhattan by 7.30pm. Watch 2nd time LotR. Finish around 10.30pm. Back to airport, take off around 1 am next day! Nope, it would not work! I would arrive in London on the next day, even with concorde. Ok, take it from there, take off at 1 AM, arrive in London at about 9 AM, customs etc, and you can be in the theatre at around 11 AM, movie finishes at 2 PM. Seen the movie three times within 24 hours Guess it depends on your perspective of _when_ a day starts
  2. quote:Originally posted by Stephanos: Ok, I've got my air-ticket! And this is my plan: 1) Fly from Milan to London. 2) Get a Cab to the first movie theater showing LotR. 3) Watch the movie. 4) Loving it!! 5) Get a cab to go back to airport. 6) First Concorde to NY, go go go! 7) After landing in NY get a cab, quickly to Manhattan. 8) FInd a movie theater showing LotR. 9) Watching it for second time in a day! 10) Get a cab to the arirport. 11) Fly back to Italy. Now: I would be the first (and probably only) one to watch LotR in two different continets on the same day! Why not: 10a: Fly back to London 10b: Find the same movie theatre as mentioned in 2. 10c: watch the movie for the 3rd time that day 10d: get in a cab and head back to the airport 11: fly back to italy
  3. Don't know what to say, and unfortunately know nothing about such illnesses, but she'll be in my prayers.
  4. quote:Originally posted by Kenada: First of all... I am a guy... Kenada is actually a guys name! LOL! Second of all.. what forum is being close here? All the Intercorp ones? Lol, I meant the missus (mine that is), like in her coming in 4th place About forum closing... Read up on the relevant subjects. For now they stay open, but SC called for a meeting to discuss things further.
  5. True, Blades is right, it's the weekend before christmas. But then again since it's important for the community, then: Thu - Sun is fine, Wed for me is a no-no unless its late at night (01:00+ GMT+1) (err, the missus will hate me for this )
  6. Allthough I only use my 2nd AE in roleplay, Garith reporting Sir! Err, forget about the sig below [ 12-17-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
  7. *ahem*, It's definitly not in dutch (I'd know ) Seems like italian to me ( .it = .italy ? )
  8. [RP] GMV Basher Gartith got the unnerving feeling that he was overlooking something. 'It doesn't feel right. A Terran ship all the way out here? Is it a trap?', he thought to himself and started to walk up and down the dimply lit bridge. 'Do we have any of our vessels in the vicinity?' 'Yes Sir, We've got the GMV-Tyranny jumping to the system right now and the UCV-Mary J is currently leaving the system. No sign of LordDavid yet'. Garith sat down in his command chair and pondered over that last remark for a while. 'Strange, only the Tyranny seems to be engaging. The stormcarrier probably is toast by now and there's this Mary-J that is leaving the area. LordDavid not around? Sounds fishy to me'. 'Sir, LordDavid on Comms'. Ok, I'll take it here. 'Yes Sir, Garith here' 'Howfar from the system are you? ETA?' '4 minutes, Sir' 'Proceeed, the GMV Tyranny is there already and will need your assistance asap.' 'Right Sir'. 'LordDavid out'. Garith had this unconfortable feeling in his stomage while he ordered the crew to get on with it. 'Let's get us to Cyrus IV, engage'. [/RP]
  9. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Nova: Here. You guys now have your own forum at Orion, to keep this thing going. Like we said, keep the faith! Nova, over and out. Thanks Nova, already been there, registered (and replied . Allthough it looks like we're leaving to other pastures, I really like to say I liked it here. The community, the game and naturally SC as well. Liked is not the right word here, i still like them all. The community for the fun times and assistance they offered, the site for being the best I've been participating on and SC for making it all possible. I will not try to convince the SC to change his mind here. I read DaSylva's post hopefully gained some understanding. Maybe not, but I feel that DaSylva made a point and maybe we ought to get our separate ways. Whatever lead to this decision, I respect it and want to thank Derek for his dedication and the game he created. It's on my computer to stay and even got me to invest my time in developing Intercorp. I don't know if he really likes the idea of the corporation, but he allowed it to grow and I'm glad for that. About buying his future products? Well, yes. I'm hooked and that's not going away Derek, *salut*. Riga [ 12-16-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
  10. Sorry to see you go Blades, had a nice time chatting and negotiating Intercorp/Commodity related things. Guess I've got to turn to Greg now. may all go well on your end and don't be a stranger *salute*
  11. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Jeffery Eu: Gentlemen, Riga, TRD, Fendi, Guybert, Kenada please email me with your intentions. Instead of just emailing, I give my intentions here so that everyone can see. Short and simple: continue with what we're doing. If not here (which really would be a shame, I like it here), then somewhere else. Gentleman, See you out there...
  12. Primary Email: [email protected] Secondary Email: [email protected] ICQ: 131410183 Name: Riga Hope to see you again on these boards, but if not, then elsewhere. Jeff: Hopefully I get my server up and running somewhere in Januari so we can set up a message board there as well.

  14. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Nova: Eh... Intercorp's been busy with other affairs. It seems that Riga and Jeffery both got themselves BCM, and have only posted around 4 or 5 times since, all of which were game reports and notices warning about their little leave of absence... Heh, it's all about priorities 1. BCM 2. RL work 3. Intercorp 4. Wife
  15. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Nova: 33. Fly around and run him over with the CC. 34. Stop the CC, put it in reverse and do it again! 35. Ask him about his AI. If he answers with huh? then repeat steps 33 and 34
  16. quote:Originally posted by Joel Schultz: Unarmed means that it is you versus the AI with no weapons, no EMD, no cloak, nothing but your wits to keep you alive when that Raider pops in and decides to do business with you his way. Exactly, that's the challenge, allthough I personally would like to be able to arm a crab-mine or two and push them out the cargobay doors quote: Good point, good point. If you can afford it. If you can't... Like Guybert said: your friendly neighbourhood Intercorp representative would be more than willing to assist you in any way he can.
  17. Hope that LordDavid is happy with this _temporal_ addition to his fleet , but Emmett didn't think that the Gammulan presence in this story was large enough LordDavid, you make a brief appearance in this post, hope you don't mind, otherwise I can edit. [rp] GMV Basher Sitting in his chair, Garith was looking aimlessly to the main screen. It had been quiet for the last few days and he didn't anticipate anything in the days to come. 'Incoming transmission from LordDavid, Sir', the ensign on duty said and made a step sideways to let his commander access the screen. 'Garith here', he said and the well known face of LordDavid came into view. 'Get your ass over at Cryon IV, the GMV Darkstar is in trouble and needs help. Now... Get to it!'. With that the screen blanked. 'Right, plot a course to Cryon IV. What's our ETA?' '17 minutes, Sir' 'OK, get to it.' With that the GMV Basher lightly trembled when the hyperdrive activated and the vessel left in a trail of bright flashes. [/rp] Short, but I'm on my way btw, Riga is kind of lost and will join later (i.e. when the battle is over ) [ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
  18. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Jeffery Eu: 5 hours into the ROAM game playing a mercenary on a Sunflash I still haven't struck a problem yet except for a little framerate degradation and my system profile is on the low end of the spectrum. I didn't even install the beta patches yet. Run, don't walk, but run to the latest patch and download it!. it'll improve overal performance significantly! btw, if current videodriver means 21.83, then upgrade to 22.80 or the new 23.11, they also improve framerates. 19. Only have been away for a day and already missed a patch.... Well, downloading RC7 tonight
  20. quote:Originally posted by Fendi: Hey Jeff is back. Back? back?... He just received BCM, so he ain't back for the next two weeks
  21. quote:Originally posted by Gallion: Seems pretty clear to me. What part was misunderstood? TTFN Urza seemed to have a problem with save files that were supposed to be deleted by the previous RC, but seemingly were not. So did it mean that SC is sure that it will remove the save files, or as you imply that it deletes it because they are not compatible? EDIT: never mind, i just finished uploading the file and read the bcmver file (dont use old safefiles ) [ 12-03-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
  22. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: 1.0.02 RC5 is out. I need EVERYONE to start using this version - even though its not official - so that we see if stability issues are related to prior save games being incompatible. This patch WILL delete ALL detected saved games. Just to make sure (answer probably is yes) RC5 is backward compatible with rc4 (and I can backup my save files and restore them after installing RC5)?
  23. Right, (more or less) back from a long absence. Guybert is right. We're just trying to structure Intercorp, but that is by no means the final form. Take as an example my proposal for payment. It's posted here and up on the website, but after an icq-session with Rico I had to conclude that portions of it must be revised. No big deal really. He has made a good point and the final proposal will only benefit from it. Now, I think that is true for most (if not all) of the things we produce, and as far as I can see the point Guybert it trying to make. As for the (in my view) negative comments made a few weeks ago. We are trying to achieve something here. If someone has (constructive) comments we try to listen and learn. If they are destructive, then do not expect us to remain silent and pretend we didn't see or hear nothing. (Yes Gallion, we will play nice ) As far as I'm concerned Intercorp is established by now, and that may not please some people, but then again, they are free to avoid us, or just not read the threads in which we are involved. Concerning the current discussion about liability of the directors over its members actions: it's an open and ongoing discussion, with several views, so let the fun begin Just my 2ct worth.
