  1. Serious Business. (They probably went crazy because the game sucks to begin with.)
  2. I agree. I do believe it raises questions of priorities when the primary motivation for terror attacks is our presence in the Muslim holy land, yet every president for the past 50+ years regularly engages in handholding and makeout sessions with the Saudi royal family. I also take issue with the fact that Saudi Arabia uses its influence to purchase entire sections of the U.S. economy due to Bush's spending policies and the drastic reduction in the value of our currency. The amount of Saudi influence in Washington is so pervasive that even had the attacks been government sponsored it would have been more likely we would invade Iraq over Saudi Arabia. While the Pentagon was still burning, Bush was dining with the Saudi ambassador. Clinton would have been doing the same thing. I have a laundry list of issues with our relationship with the Saudis. First and foremost should be that they have more representation in Washington than the citizens.
  3. Taking terror seriously! In other news, national ID card standards passed Congress.
  4. RROD: Dec 26, 2007 (mfg Nov 2006) Registered on xbox.com/support Received replacement (refurb) on January 16, 2008 (mfg Dec 2006). Total time from RROD to Receipt of replacement console: 21 days.
  5. Bill O'Reilly assaults Obama Staffer in NH. It was probably fueled by this.
  6. So who would you like to see get the nomination of the two big parties? Me personally, I'm for Ron Paul. I believe that he is the only principled person in the race, and I believe he is the only one willing to talk about the problems we face as a nation. Best thing he's pointed out? The price of oil hasn't changed in relation to the price of gold. The American dollar has lost so much value that the price of oil is skyrocketing as a result of inflationary monetary policy.
  7. When the 360s were first manufactured, they used a non-approved type of solder which becomes brittle over time. The overheating causes this, but it doesn't happen all at once. All 360s manufactured are expected to eventually RROD once the solder breaks contact with components and the board. I have read reports of Nyko cooling units melting and fusing to the 360. I have also read that using a non-approved cooling unit you run the risk of voiding your warranty because of the way it connects and draws power. From Wikipedia: I planned that my 360 would fail even though it is in a well ventilated area, stands vertical on top of a wood surface, and having taken good care of it. Microsoft set aside enough $$$ to cover this, and getting a RROD means that you get a free system repair so I wasn't too worried about it except being stuck on PC for a bit playing my other games. I wanted to be careful not to use a cooling device or anything that ran the risk of having Microsoft find an excuse to not honor the 3 year warranty on a RROD.
  8. No, I actually hadn't played my 360 since the end of November, just used it for watching movies. It was working fine last Friday, I went out of town and came back and it wasn't working. I did notice in November that I got hangups/freezes during a couple of games on and off. Mostly Guitar Hero/Rock Band. My longest gaming sessions for the past while haven't been more than an hour or so. The only thing out of the ordinary that I did was open up a ton of media files on my shared network, but I can't say whether that had any effect or not. (I use the 360 for streaming from my computer to t.v.)
  9. I had my first 360 RROD on me this week. It lasted from Nov 2006 - Dec 2007. I submitted my repair order through Microsoft's website on Wednesday and will post updates on how long it takes for the repair. Anyone have success stories on the repair program? I posted a quick update on my blog also: http://blog.danielcooper.us/ Also on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/danielcooper2006
  10. I'm guessing you wouldn't want to hear about asspennies where people run pennies up their crack and then go out and spend them into circulation? (countdown to S.C. dumping his change into the nearest coinstar machine wearing rubber gloves)
  11. Found out that the Mrs. and I will be having a girl to go along with the two boys from my prior marriage. She's due on May 11, 2008 allegedly. My life since all the drama in 2003 has stabilized, with working the same job as a Project Manager I landed at that point, and with full custody of my children. Back in college and looking toward the future. It was the support of lots of folks here that helped me through that period - and I want to say thanks. - Daniel (http://www.myspace.com/danielcooper2006) to keep up with the latest news or to add me to your friend list so we can bombard each other with useless bulletins about having crappy love lives if we don't pass to 10 of our friends.
  12. Oh wow, didn't know you could do that. Good deal!
  13. I'd be willing to bet that Duke Nukem Forever beats this one out the door.
  14. Halo 3 Call of Duty 4 Rock Band Guitar hero III NCAA 08
  15. Now that is a memory... 8 or 9 years ago I think.
  16. Thanks for confirmation. I ended up removing all software that used Starforce not only for concerns technically but because I despise that company's approach to customers. Secu-ROM is all good with me.
  17. First up for the axe - the fun department. We can get an extra 12 cents per share out of the stock price by eliminating the fun department and the folks who do widescreen. Next up: Bioware's Football RPG. Where you have to take your party in search of the golden football.
  18. Yeah... unbalanced when you need a SSD to take them down when rebel stations go down against bombers/ISDs.
  19. An incredibly unbalanced faction to boot. The pirate space stations are ridiculous.
