  1. Cmdr. Demolition Thank you, will do the necessary tasks right away. Thanks for the help.
  2. If I were to buy a new Graphics card, I wouldn't buy an ATI card. (sheesh, the problems I had with my last ATI were too many to describe...) Sure, the new cards are pretty allright but if one wants things to work for sure then a Nvidia is a pretty safe bet.
  3. 21) very small (often) attacking ships never head straight towards you to ram you.
  4. Ah, I got to download that right this minute then, being a fan of the first AvP game. For those that haven't played this excellent game, a cheap Gold version of it is out in the bins... heh, It would be quite an experience if our BC's were to be infested with alien lifeforms.. (although my crew looks at me as if I were an alien when I command a fullscale planetary attack, just because the inhabitants dented my ship.)
  5. Well, it could work if they just weren't out for the action as they seem to be in every d!mned movie nowadays... but a movie made of Half-Life would be neat if they made it just like the game in a way. The same for the Alone in the Dark games, episode 1 and 4. anyway, games from movie SCRIPTS on the other hand are just great! As for examples, Indiana Jones IV was made from a moviescript, and it was a exceptionally good game, as for The Dig, that also was made from a script. Now these two are adventure games but it could be done with other games. Now why couldn't I be a director..
  6. It would be nice to see a "space movie" where the ships for once turned and flew realistic flight patterns...
  7. Cmdr.Demolition It would be an honor to be assigned to the Epsilon wing. In what way do I type the designation if I get assigned? Like: "Prime Fleet, Epsilon wing" ?
  8. "...oh and you have Resnig saying the mighty phrase EACH 10 SECONDS!!!! MOUHAHAHAHAHA!" Now THAT is a punishment worth avoiding! Although it feels like he's saying it every 5 seconds now..
  9. Sidargo, have you tried out the non-computer variant of BattleTech then? Now that's a blast..
  10. Or if the first keys they pressed was WASD a voice would say "WASD?! Thats just ludicrous." and the BC self-destructed with the final words flashing on screen: "RTFM!".
  11. That confirmed my suspicions against that company.. Ok, will pre-order it from the site you said instead. (Although it's a shame I don't get a boxed game. I love the gameboxes (If you like to know what importer it was here in sweden so just ask.)
  12. ummmm, I hope this isn't seen as a dumb question but... "As I've said before, I know for a FACT that most who haven't already pre-ordered or at the very least, in the upcoming weeks, are NOT likely to EVER get a copy of this game" I pre-ordered it at a swedish importer a while ago that said they would take in the game as soon as it were released. Now, should I change the pre-ordering to EB's site instead (yes, I don't care if it's gonna cost me anymore. GOT to have this game...) or wait and hope they get it in a resonable time?
  13. Believe me, you DON'T want a release date... As I said in another post, I've been waiting for Silent Hunter II and they delay it a month a time... So first we see August the 21, and we all get happy because that is soon, but then they delay ut to september the 9th, and we get a bit pissed, and then october... and now finally december. Every delay gets us more and more disappointed. But with BCM's excellent release date we don't have to worry! It gets out when its done and thats it. We can't complain about a set delay because there was never a date that it was promised to get out on. And to the Supreme Commander: Keep up the good work, Derek!
  14. As for your second question about not getting attacked by enemies while trying everything out, just take your BC down to earth, land in the middle of nowhere (as far from the cities as you can) and order your BC to HALT. I've never been attacked while doing this and thats the way I figured every groundbased option out. As for space operations, you can "hide" in the Debris Field near Earth. There will be enemies sometimes but they usually just opt to attack Galcom HQ rather than you. And if they attack you, order the BC to attack an enemy and put the Autopilot to AI and watch the show...
  15. Just for the fun of it, I sat down today and read every review and preview of the BC3K and BCM games, and everyone complains about the steep learning curve. And all I can say is: What steep learning curve? When I downloaded the free BC3K v2.09 I sat down and read the included readme's, doc's and the pdf manual, took little notes on which keys to use, and how to do certain things, and that was it. No steep learning curve there... if one doesn't know how to do something, like landing troops on a planet, then its just to read how to do it in the manual, nothing hard... I actuall found it really fluid and selfexplaining ingame. So does anyone else feel that there aren't any steep learning curve, or is it just me? (on the other hand, I usually learn how to operate things in sims pretty fast due to my interest in the sims itself.
  16. Shoot the legs of a BattleTech mech and he's finished... Death from Above!
  17. What about us people that live outside the states and want that chart too, but cannot order the game online because the freightcost and the taxes to get something into this /&(#% country equals often to the same amount as the game itself costs... so we're paying for two games for one..
  18. A good Amiga emulator can be found at www.cloanto.com/amiga/forever. They sell a CD-Rom with every Amiga kickstart up to the 1.3. (you can get the emulator for free without kickstarts though...) And they include every workbench version up to 3.1 (I bought the original 3.9 and installed it on my laptop... and they got some other neat stuff crammed on the same CD too. check the site out.. Anyway, as for roms, www.back2roots.org has a LOT of roms, and they got links to other sites as well. Running the Amigaforever emulator is pretty close to the real thing, although I prefer one of my true A1200's (got several.) If you got a computer that is faster than a P400 then there is no slowdown whatsoever. support the Amiga community and buy a copy of the Amiga Forever package. WELL worth it! (like bragging to your friends when you boot up your computer and it boots into...Amiga workbench?
  19. I can help you with your search of the Ultima games and the like. Just surf over to http://arnold.c64.org/ and download everything you ever wanted to the C64 emulator. You should also try VICE (another C64 emulator but with C128, Vic20 and some others emulated.). And while I'm at it, there is a splendid amiga emulator on the net too... so if anyone's interested in emulation and are reading this, bring it up in the general area since I don't want to be banned from this excellent forum...
  20. yes, The longest journey is a game I recommend too.. Well, its a bit awkward at times with dialogs that happen BEFORE they are supposed to happen but other than that its a great game...
  21. hm, as weird as it sounds, I-War was much more fun than the sequel... (playtested it in the store) So I got that one instead. You guys where all right on that point.. Just got to love the flight model! Is it possible to have a similar in BCM I wonder..?
  22. Sounds like a nice game then.. And just realized that I-War 2 has been released where I live so I'm off to get a copy...
  23. Anyone tried it? And is it any fun? (not likely that I will play it after BCM gets out though. )
  24. Um, if that last message about reading manuals was for me then I can tell you I've read them all. Everythings explained in them as you said, I know. I was just curious about what routes the pro's of this game take. getting money in BC3K is way too easy in my opinion. I took a few (5 or 6 tops I think..) trips to pluto and back and after that I had all the upgrades, an almost full gastank, some nifty missiles and lots of money left. So I usually just travel around now, saving some attacked ships here and there, exploring... (feels like StarTrek Voyager this..
