  1. BCM isn't an MMORPG, so joining games in progress won't be a good idea either But the BC Series can be played for hours and hours, so there is yet another question: Will it be possible for players to rejoin a session they have previously participated in ? Or if that is not possible, will the AI take control of their ship ? Because it wouldnt be so good if 3 Stormcarriers fight a Warmonger and one or two of em just explode due to a system overheat or ISP-Failure Anyway, if EB doesnt ship my BCM Copy soon I might go Postal )) My fingers are itching, I want to get me dirty hands on it *G* Thx for all the great work again, SC ! btw, the EB Online-Store says: usually ships within 24 hours. Does that mean they still have copies left ? Because, if they lost my order (that ALWAYS happens to me *G*) I could buy another copy ... Cheers Sid
  2. Hi everyone, some may remember me (and Jaguar actually still is in my ICQ list ... thx for the help with the TRANS in 2.09 again ) and some wont. I joined in Sep 2001, and then "suddenly" wasn't seen here anymore. I registered for a fleet, but then failed to confirm my data and supply the info missing, so some may not like me anymore. It's quite simple: I got my motorcycle license in late september, and bought a bike just a week later. Then something happened, including me, my new bike, and a bus. I spent 3 month in hospital, since i had 8 bones broken, including both femurs (or femors ... upper leg bones) - again .... At least, there was no amnesia, so i did remember to pre-order BCM . I'm recovering quickly, and Im glad that I am back in the greatest game related communities of all Im not up to date regarding the status of BCM, but ill read the News in a few minutes, and then go play some BC 3000 AD 2.09 I need that now. For those who know me: I've quit university and im working as a technician for a PSION-Handheld Reseller right now... I hope to see all of you, once MP is added to BCM Fleet Related: I will re-register for the fleet as soon as i get some spare time. CU soon Sid

How's that? Thats Linux Welcome to the real world where OS dont need a Quadrentium 77.5 Terrahertz with 12849382 Pentabyte of RAM .... Cheers

  9. Hehe ... I have 2 Samba-Fileservers and a DSL-Router/Firewall/Proxy running on RedHat 7.0, just because its SECURE and you can recycle your old machines (Fileservers are Pentium-90 and Pentium-133 with 128 MB RAM each and a total capacity of 90 GBs built from 10 old SCSI HDs ... The Router/FW/Proxy is a 486 DX 2/66 with 32 MB RAM and a 500 MB HD. Network is 10/100 MBit with 5 PCs -> Switch -> Router -> DSL-Modem 2 of the Machines at the Switch are Win98 / Win NT, 2 are the mentioned Samba-Filerservers and one is a Ultra Sparc ! I bought the switch, the old PCs and the Ultra Sparc from a company which went down the sink in early 99, I paid 500 Marks altogehter (which is about 230 $ US) That was the BEST thing in my life buying the old machines They do a hell of a job running under Linux Cheers
  10. Hey guys, we all know that life comes to an end sometime, somewhere. So I will make it quick and clean: Im very sad to announce that Officer Paul Resnig was killed in a transporter accident at 17:05 Local Time on Lennen, when the transporter beamed him to a Raider Base instead of the secured GALCOM-Outpost. We all will miss his presence on bridge. The Funeral will be held aboard GCV Narf tomorrow at 17:00 GALCOM-Time. Signing Off and Farewell, Paul
  11. Just an idea ... I think the design idea of a battlecruiser is just as mentioned above - a central axis (corridor) with the rooms alongside that central passage .... BUT since boarding parties are very common (you can board any vessel anytime as long as youre not shot down on approach - no need to lower shields to beam or dock) there SHOULD be some kind of Sentry Installations on every Battleship, like a gatling-station tracking specific signatures (such as a chip implanted in every GalCom employee) which allows to attack only hostile forces ... and you should be able (at least if youre an engineer ) to reprogramm your chip to defeat others ships sentries ... i dunno, kill an insurgent and copy/paste his chip or stuff ))) just an idea ... i dont know if its practicable .... Anyway, I LOVE the idea to run around BC-Vessels Cheers
  12. I bought a Rage 128 32 MB as a replacement for my Riva128, since I wanted to watch DVDs on my K6-2/500 ... I had tried using WinDVD with the Riva, but it was more of a slide show than entertainment. Then I updated to a Rage128 since that Package included the ATI-DVD-Player - et voila, no problems ever since.... I agree that ATI sucks in Drivers, but with a small computer which wouldnt run modern games anyway, its the best way to get to view DVDs 'cause the ATI Rage series supports MoComp since the RageII Chip ... IF Ati ever releases fully functional drivers along with their cards, they will kick asses around the globe, including NVidia's, just like AMD kicked ass when the releases their first REAL CPU - the all famous ATHLON .... the first AMD CPU which beat an identically clocked Intel Processor ... Cheers
  13. Doesnt this sound like testing an internal level of a command craft Guys, I envy you Cheers
  14. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: Hmm... in fact Mechwarrior is not only a game... it's an entire universe... the battletech universe... there have been countless novels made in the Battletech universe... I've read some and they are pretty impressive. A battletech movie wouldn't be suprising, it would even be interesting.... FASA is planning on a BT movie ... for years. Doubt they will EVER finish it
  15. Have some of you been to the counter-strike.de forum ? LOL ! We have EXACTLY the same discussion there, someone posted about AVP2 and another guy said in the 4th or 5th reply that the RedFaction-MP-Demo ROX and he likes the Railgun best ... LOOOOOL
