  2. quote: Like I said, I think the world has gone insane. I concur. Rational thought for a great many people went out the window a long time ago. But keep the faith LIS -- there are still some "normal" people in the underground.
  3. From CNN . What a sad day.

    Star Wars: 3D

An interview with Dennis Muren. How cool would the asteroid scene in ESB be in 3D? Duck!!
  5. With any luck, these box office figures will pick up steam over the next few weekends with word of mouth. I'm sure some people are still in recovery from trying to burn the image of George Clooney in a bat-nippled suit out of their minds. I hope there's a SE extended DVD version. I thought I remembered reading somewhere about edited or deleted scenes.

Bale's intensity perfectly matched the character and the sheer anger and drive of the Batman was finally portrayed. Gotham was a gritty, crime-ridden cesspool. The Batmobile was tough fighting machine. The Cave didn't look like a Disneyland set. I could go on forever. They have so erased the stain of the old movies. God, how long before the next one?
  7. No idea. I think they're deep uncover. Or at some Orion Command Conference that the lowers ranks don't need to know about.
  8. Hey Aleksey! I'm still here too. The RL stuff finally died down and now I'm just kicking back and enjoying the summer season.
  9. quote: Originally posted by SC: What about Bard's Tale? I've been considering it. I think I'll download the demo tonight. I also just read about a mod for Morrowind called Wizards' Islands And, amazingly enough, the Dreamcatcher forum for DL is back up in the promised time frame.
  10. Well, I actually finished this game last night. As a beta product, it wasn't bad. The ending hints at a sequel (or an expansion pack), but I seriously doubt it will materialize all things considered. It's a real shame -- good adventuring RPGs are tough to come by.

    LOST

So does anyone else think the creature sounded distinctly mechanical last night?
  12. DC closing the forums is disrespectful to both customers and the devs. The sad part is that there is a great game underneath the current version just waiting to be unleashed. I hope DW has the resources to realise his vision for the game. One note about the automap: I agree it's been a real bear keeping track of my character's location, but I've kind of been enjoying the paper map. It's a throwback to the old days when automapping wasn't commonplace. Maybe I'm getting old(37)?
  13. I didn't see that. I love this quote: quote: In stark contrast, you have a ship called a Star Destroyer that's designed to defeat entire FLEETS of other ships. Those of you that think the Enterprise would stand a chance need to put down the Red Bull and make your way carefully back to the door marked "Logic."
  14. Tac, you should send them to Las Vegas. You get Rome, Paris, Italy, Egypt, New York City, and King Arthur's court all in one visit.
  15. quote: Graphics engines and asset creation tools are a dime a dozen. All it takes is the talent to use them and to create something cool. In fact, I think that the focus on graphics over substance is what is killing most games and the primary reason why most games (even triple-A games) are not meeting expectations. You'd think that everyone would be hip to this by now. Amen! I can download a tech demo for free if I want to see flashy graphics and spend the fifty bucks elsewhere (like gasoline.)
  16. I've got to say I love it. My wife and I sit on the edge of our seats every week. In fact, I wish I would have recorded season one and just watched it all at once. The Star Trek franchise could take a lesson or two from this show.
  17. The Chronicles of Narnia are one of my all time favorites. You know the other one I would like to see? The Chronicles of Amber. That would be soooo cool.
  18. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Are you talking about the pilot? Yep, one and the same. For whatever reason, it's titled a "4 hour mini-series" on the box. BTW, the outakes were interesting in that you get to see some of the shots with barebones effects. The Galactica without the textures applied, Apollo reacting to a missile when it's just the green screen behind him. That's got to be tough -- acting worried with nothing actually chasing you!
  19. I found it on special for $21.99 at Suncoast Video. If you buy a movie there (in the store -- not off of their website) within the first week or so after its release, it is often a couple of bucks cheaper than most places. They mark it up later. Target does the same -- I usually check out both and see who has the biggest discount.
  20. I just bought the new mini series on DVD this past Tuesday. My wife and I are going to spend a quiet New Year's Eve watching it. The case says it includes deleted scenes -- I'll be curious to see what's there.
  21. I agree Greg. Ditch IE at your first opportunity. I switched to Firefox and Thunderbird about three weeks ago and never looked back. Out of curiousity, is just your browser crashing or the entire OS?
  22. I just didn't have time to post it! (New job.)
