quote:Does that mean that if I feel that you cannot be responsible with your speech, that I can regulate that as well? Some people are just too stupid to speak out in public, should we be allowed to regulate that?I'm not familiar with any vocal expression that could physically harm anyone, so your analogy is a bit lacking.

I'm glad that I live on this side of the pond.. And I'm for gun control, not everyone is as responsible with guns as Jaguar. Consider the phrase "Opportunity makes a thief".. That kind of proves that the phrase "If everone had a gun there would be no crime" is a myth. And Jag, murder is murder, if you can disable without killing, do it. Yes, I have a hunting permit.

Night at the movies - Lord of the rings (minor spoilers alert!!!)
Cur replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in The Arts
quote:Originally posted by Stephanos: Grrrrrr, it is not fair, such a movie should have been distributed worldwide the same day!! I thought it did. I went to see it in Helsinki on the evening of 12/19. I thought that it was just after the US premiere. I must say that it was quite different from the book. Good movie, though. -
So, Fendi, are you a member?

Watch out for Space Dragons....

Urban legend, no doubt. They're easy to identify. You can't control those settings from the phone on digital networks, you have to have access to registers on the phone center/MUX. And if you could, why doesn't he tell, if it is provider independant, on which manufacturers' centers/MUXs this works? I bet that if the reason is as serious as that, the phone company will just keep that information for themselves. (So that you won't go and try the same trick.) [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Cur ]

Mandatory Military enlistment
Cur replied to Charles Lindsey's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
quote:In Norway we have mandatory enlistment. Same here. I think mandatory service is quite common in small countries, where there simply wouldn't be enough volunteers. And yes, it's funny to hear that USA has 'special forces' for winter-time operations. -
quote:The 3 or 4 special items I was missing as well as a number of spare parts that I'm sure were taken from my ship as well. Are you sure? Maybe it just took a while for your crew to bring the missing items back from the shuttle's cargo hold. The shuttle that the intruders tried to take, that is. [ 12-14-2001: Message edited by: Cur ]

I think that you have to port the DirectX 8.1 API yourself, but don't worry, it's a project that will take only a year or two. And by then there might be powerful enough processor to run it.

A picture can lie more than a thousand words... It's a conspiracy by U.S. government!

quote:Originally posted by AshSpear: Cur: to continue with being off the topic, there is pretty much nothing left after ragnorak, they are all dead, and premanantly dead this time. A sort of resurected Baldur is holed up somewhere and recreates the world... Now you're talking of g├Âtterdammerung, and it has a little difference to ragnar├Âk. Here's the aftermath of ragnar├Âk: quote: With Ragnar├Âk ended, new life began as the earth rose from the sea. The earth would be green and fertile. A new sun would rise and across the sky; the chariot would be driven by the daughter of Sol ("Sun"). Vili (or Hoenir) and many of the younger gods who took part in the war survived. Vidar and Vali, the two sons of Odin, had survived Ragnar├Âk, as did the two sons of Tor, Modi and Magni, who would wield Mj├Âllnir, their father's mighty hammer. So did Frigg, Freyja and the other goddesses. Balder, the dead god of beauty, and his blind brother, Hod, will be reborn in the New Age. Two mortals, Lif and Lifthrasir escaped the destruction of Ragnar├Âk, because they had hid themselves at Hoddmimir's tree; they will repopulate Midg├Ñrd. I'll stop posting off-topic now.

It was supposed to be visible only to the Supreme Commander, but UBB seems to disagree.

Going off-topic, but I just thought I'll post this.. quote:The idea is that it was a dishonor to lose any of your gear in combat (similar to the greeks in that respect) Not so much dishonoring, but it would help them bad guys during ragnar├Âk. They would use everything left on a battlefield to build themselves a boat, so they won't drown when earth sinks to the sea. And that's why berserkers cut their fingernails before battle.

quote:Cur, ehm, I think you should use private messages to warn someone about this issue. This way anyone will know his CD-Key is in his profile Sorry about that. I have a good memory, unfortunately it's quite short.. Didn't remember that feature.

Rip, I think you should clear the CD-KEY field in your profile..

I ordered in late September and last night I got an email from BMT saying that they have shipped my copy of BC:M. I wonder how long it takes for a Battlecruiser to travel over the Atlantic..
