  1. Ilove Firefly! But i think the 44million dollars is proof that money talks and...you know the rest. What bottom line can someone look at and determine Firelfly would make money, when to date it has not?
  2. I also want to add that plot holes in movies made by someone the calibre of Marty, are probably intentional ie.. representative of the flawed thinking and decision making human beings under enormous pressure would proably make. It easy ro sit back as the viewer with knowledge the charcters dont have and say, "he should have done that" but in my mind a film plotted that tightly is flawed and inorganic. Just a thought.
  3. Cruis what are yall smokin down there? That was one of the best written and directed films I have seen. It pays homage to some of the great films of the seventies, when filmmakers dared to tell stories that reflect realism and not Hollywood over processed optimism. Marty is the class of American directors 11/10
  4. Actually Echo, I have added it to my Season pass list so i can introduce my wife, a diehard Young and the Restless fan, to something I used to watch. Thanks for the update!
  5. Wolfie that little encounter was so cool and that is how I want to remember Jack, one of the preeminent character actors of all time! Reminds me of an incident that happened here in the Steel City. A punk went into a local convenience store with intentions to rob it. He pulls out a gun and points it at the clerk, and from behind he hears an old man, maybe 80 years old say" You dont wanna do that buddy" He turns to say something and the old fella drops him with a picture perfect left hook! When the police arrive they ask what happened, and the former Middleweight Champion of the world, the man who at 160lbs went 15 rounds with Joe Louis and was ahead on points, Billy Conn says " It was nuthin really"
  6. Oh you will pay! Me and Echo can watch GH if we want to damnit
  7. Gosh, Luke and Laura! When I was younger I used to watch it with my GF. Mikos Cassidine and his weather machine, Robert Scorpio etc..Gee that was a long time ago. i know they cant still have them folks on the show!?
  8. He doesnt like the show, MOF he hates it! That doesnt ruin it for me, even if I think SC is TOO hard on it. I've read similar critiques, some by people who champion the original show as if it were Macbeth or something....no accounting for taste.
  9. OK, i 'm convinced our Fearless Leader is straight playa hatin' BSG. Tonites episode wasIMO a stunning achievement , with pathos, irony, and a great plot fully realized. Throw in the space battles sfx and you have clearly the one of the top series on TV. This is a show that is chracter driven, daring and unapologetically intelligent, which puts it ahead of the competetion.
  10. This isnt good. Thankfully they seem to be proceding anyway. Maybe Bill should start his own studio.
  11. I wonder who's next? I saw the poll results in SC's thread. I hope its none of my faves, but with my luck....
  12. Smith has already been cancelled. Wonder who's next?
  13. There are a number of new shows that really have potential to be solid hits, but will probably be cancelled for a number of reasons that have nothing to do with quality IMO. Here are a few.. Kidnapped. Great cast, unique visual style, bad timeslot. This show features Tim Hutton, Delroy Lindo, Dana Delaney, Myikelti Williams and Jeremy Sisto and ties together a number of interesting plotlines that result in 60 minutes of riveting tv. It will be gone by midseason. It is slotted against CSI Mississippi or something and no one will see it. Smith Ray Liotta on TV. Nuff said. A caper film done episodically. Watch quick it's probably already cancelled Men In Trees Yeah I know,a total chick show my wife makes me watch. But I always enjoy this female reworking of Northern Exposure. It very much uses the location as a character. Wont last because it doesnt know if it is a drama or a comedy Jericho An interesting twist on the EOTW theme, with enough plot twists and internal mythos to last, but it wont since episodic shows are rarely successful. The Wire Hands down the best show no one ever watches. Completely fearless it takes on issues that the networks wouldnt dream of tackling. Powerful writing and biting social commentary, like Deadwood and Carnivale, it doesnt produce Sopranos type numbers and will be probably meet the same fate as those great shows. The Unit Threat Matrix,E-Ring, The Agency all shows that aimed for and missed when it came to military intelligence/spy genre. The Unit gets it right. Heavyweight playwright David Mamet and Sean Ryan creator of the Shield, get together to produce a series that really lets you see just how "Special" special forces really are. Dennis Haysbert and Robert Patrick are NCOIC and CO of a Delta Force unit that is particularly badass. It also focuses on the wives and families of the Unit and makes it easy for the wife or GF to watch and like. Get the Season One DVD cause this will not last through the season. Too bad it is a really good show. watch while you can. They will be gone soon and replaced by CSI Hooterville or Law and Order: Traffic Court Victims Unit.
  14. Aaron Sorkin weed smoker or not is a brilliant tv writer and as long as he is the show runner, it will have great scripts, be funny and smart. The cast is good, with a few holdovers from the West Wing, and the chemistry between the leads is magic. Very cool show.
  15. I like this show, so yea, it'll be cancelled.
  16. Not bad? It was great! This show takes so many chances and refuses to be formulaic.I can barely wait for each episode. I really feel bad for those who can't appreciate it's greatness.
  17. Previous weeks episodes can be viewed at NBC's website
  18. Twin brothers from different mothers! Great minds think alike!
  19. Just heard a crazy rumor that Robert Downey will play Iron Man in Marvel's next SH franchise. Jon Farveau is reportedly directing with a 2008 release in the offing. Any confirmation? Or better yet any thoughts on the casting?
  20. I live in PA! Besides the chick has grounds. She was abducted by a guy who worked in the middle school she attended assisted by his girlfriend. The police did a piss poor job because according to a neighbor of mine who is a detective, the investigating officers referred to her as "trailer trash". This sicko manipulated a 13 year old girl into having sex and thinking she would go to jail too if she tried to escape or told on him. And as long as you live in Illinois the Nutbag quotient will remain pretty high
  21. Kal, glad it went okay, but your dental plan didn't cover the root canals?
