A fighter does not need a co-pilot to launch. The existence of the co-pilot only improves the AI skills of the asset during combat. So, without a co-pilot, well, you know the drill.

Microsoft removed support for MIDI/Gameports in Vista. So you won't be able to use your non-USB joystick in Vista. However, as is the case with this sort of thing, some enterprising person has created a set of drivers which actually do work. I tested them and they seem fine. Your mileage will vary of course. When in doubt, System Restore is your friend.

Guilty Plea from Former Take-Two CEO, Ryan Brant

Five years probation -
Having completed and delivered Echo Squad (all four episodes) to Turner about two months ago, we've been hard at work on the follow up title, Talon Elite. Its got some surprises which, when the first shots (and subsequent demo) are released, you guys will probably wet your diapers. Lets put it this way, its not what you folks are expecting it to be. In fact, its far - far - more advanced than Echo Squad and for good reason. Apart from the graphics update as well as frontend sub-system, the terrain engine is a complete re-write. Also, even though it still only features the Elite Force Pilot career, TE has new technologies and feature sets made only possible by the additional time we've had to work on it. We're expecting it to wrap and be ready to roll in Q1/08 (March) and, like UCCE, will be both a boxed retail as well as online distribution release. <small>[ 08-09-2007, 03:40 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]</small>

Turner have moved the release (on GameTap) of the game from August to October, to coincide with the two year anniversary of GameTap. Season Two of Sam & Max also debuts on that day.

Take 2 have sent CE off to manufacturing. It is scheduled to hit North American store shelves on Oct. 1st. Also, the game was recently rated T (with violence descriptor) by the ESRB. The online distribution version will also be released through our existing partners (IGN, Digital River) during that week. Unfortunately, due to licensing issues, BMT Micro will only be handling International and Canadian DVD-ROM orders.

Vista-only game cracked to run on XP
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
Vista.is.rubbish. I use it only because I have to. Like Windows Live! and DX10, its one of several MS missteps in recent memory. Just watch what happens when XP SP3 is released in 2008. In fact, my guess is they will keep delaying it until Vista gains traction. Which, given its six months in, ain't gonna happen. Besides, support for XP doesn't end until 2014. How to make Windows XP last for the next seven years -
Changing the Officers voice/lines?
Supreme Cmdr replied to Cmdr GamKiller's topic in Universal Combat Series
They are WAV files, not MP3. And the list of voice files are listed in SOUNDFX.INI so you don't have to guess what sound plays what. When you create a new file, you do not have to replace the existing one in the archive. Just put the new on in the same folder and as long as it is newer and has the same filename, the game will use that one instead of the default one. -
DJP's Arent fully working for me
Supreme Cmdr replied to Buzz313th's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
hehe, UCSE uses slightly more advanced engines; hence the reason you're seeing smoother gameplay in UCAWA. However, you can fix that by just reducing some of the settings in Config. -
DJP's Arent fully working for me
Supreme Cmdr replied to Buzz313th's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
This has been fixed in UCSE and UCCE. There is no point in fixing it for UCAWA, since thats a much older product. A patch for both (UCCE is off to production for retail release) will be released in August when UCCE hits the shelves and online distribution sites. Buzz, thanks for noticing this. In exchange for your expenditure, I'm going to give you a free copy of the digital distribution version of UCCE when released. Please PM me when UCCE is released. -
DJP's Arent fully working for me

Looks like a problem with the localization table. We'll look into it. In fact, those localized strings were done back in 07/06 in UCAWA. Thats why the problem exists in that game as well as in UCSE, but not UC. SInce its a crucial issue, we'll definitely fix it and release a patch for it. Yeah, I saw it on day one and have been too busy to post about it. Its easily the second (I liked the first one) best in the series. 10/10

I don't care about Bruce Campbell. My interest is in Jeffrey Donovan as I think he's quite a good actor. He takes surly to a whole new level.
