  1. hmmm... well what is the purpose of SF marines if you can't deploy them to space?
  2. How, how, how do i do it? I want to send them into combat with other SF marines but can not figure out how to launch them. Ive tried the transporter but it won't deploy w/o a waypoint and you can't set waypoints in space. is there anyway to deploy them striaght from the CC?

  4. Here are a couple of glitches i noticed. they are not that big a deal but i figured you would like to know about them. I am using V1.0.2 RC6. First thing. The planet Capella in the Cryian Quadrant. The planet apears very earthlike from orbit (oceans and continents) and in the initial view it when you "OBSERVE" in Tacops. However if you zoom in or land on it and explore around, you find it is just one big desert. Second thing. I launched a SR probe from my Sun Flash cruiser and the probe definetly went out and began warping to other systems as i told it to. But when i went to check my probes loadout in TACOPS i still registered all six that i started with. Thats it at the moment. Im not really worried about them, i just figured you would want to know SC.

  10. My CC (sunflash heavy cruiser) was landed planet side and i wanted to depoy a CAB w 2 marines for patrol purposes. I found that the CAB could not be loaded aboard the shuttle from the TACTICAL LOADOUT menu. I also tried the TACTICAL LAUNCH menu but it wasn't even accessable. Hmmm?? so how do i launch the CAB or even use it? [ 12-02-2001: Message edited by: treeder ]

  12. Ok here is the deal. I send a shuttle down with a fighter pilot and a marine. also loaded onboard is a ATV with 2 marines. I plot WP for plantfall and to "deploy vehicle" but the darn shuttle just flys right by that waypoint and keeps the vehicle onboard. Hmmm... On to waypoint 2 to deploy a mining drone. No probs there, worked like a charm. WP 3 was "deploy a cargo pod", again no problems. So i keep trying to get the shuttle to fly back to WP 1 and drop off the ATV but with no luck. Finally i decide to deploy the single marine that i loaded on the shuttle with the pilot. I assigned the marine from the "TEAM" option in TACOPS, LOADOUT. So i change WP1 to "Deploy team". Sure enough the shuttle changes course and flys right over the WP.... Then the pilot and the marine jump out at 20,000 ft and....SPLAT, FLAT, DEAD!!! The shuttle then begins to return to the CC on autopilot (i assume since the other two marines were in the ATV onboard). What is with the spontanious this spontanious suicide incedent and How do i deploy the vehicle?

  14. Thanks to all the fine captains who answered my request. I've been tooling around the Training missions for the last week to "get my wings". A Commander should be proficient with his craft after all. I'll probebly take to "real" space this weekend. Again, thank you all.
  15. I have tried landing a shuttle and the CC on Trion in the training missions but the Shift-E command just sends me skidding along the ground. I am in VTOL mode at around 500 feet when it do it. What exactly is the best procedure to landing on a planet? Also, once landed, how do i deploy the 4 marines that i took along with my AE on the little planet hope? I cant seem to find a command to kick them out of the shuttle once i get down (i got down by shutting off my engines when i was at 15 feet in VTOL mode Thanks in advance
