  1. That game rocks, I love it as much as I love BC 3000 AD.
  2. I can only offer newbie advice myself, as I am still to new to this game, but did you check to make sure you had the pilots assigned to the interceptors ? I had this problem once where one of my pilots decided to hang arround the launch bay for over 20 minutes before he got in the interceptor. Check in the perscan and see where they are all at?
  3. A short time ago, someone left a post about beaming down on to a planets surface with a prisoner and a few marine guards. He then shot the prisoner and beaming back. I decided to do the same thing, to see what it was like. Well I finally captured a prisoner. Not easy tasks mind you when my smartest AI for marines is only 21. But finally my crew was able to capture one. (With no I repeat NO help from my CO, who keeps getting his nametag on upside down. Got to send him back to inspecting gun turrets again) Anyway, so I beam down the prisoner with my smartest marine and my AE. And what do I notice, not only is he armed, but I can give him orders to attack enemy bases. This was too good to be true. I sent him off to attack the nearest enemy base, he lasted long enough to destroy 1 sam site, before I shot him in the head several times. I was in a rush, (Had to get to work) otherwise I was going to play around some more with this newfound recruit. Anyway I figure since my cruiser only has 5 marines on it I can augment them with prisoners as the first wave on any ground attacks. If they die then oh well, and if they live I can kill them at the end anyway. I see it as a win win situation from my end. Anyway else try this? [ 01-15-2002: Message edited by: Maddog ]
  4. Ok Silk I have read through this forum and finaly have decided to add my two cents in to it. I am serving in the army, I have been in for over 12 years now. I will stay in at least until 20 years so that I can retire. Thats was my choice. It does sound like you have a ***hole of a recruiter there. And I will not get into that. I can already tell that you have done your homework and know the rules and regulations that apply to you. As for The choice you need to make. ONLY YOU CAN MAKE THAT CHOICE. You must figure out what is good for you, and your family then make that choice based on that decision. This would mean that you need to talk to your wife, aand outline not just where you are gonna be in one or two years but in ten years from now. I know lots of people who have come and gone from the military because it was not the right life for them, I also know people who have done 20+ years in and retired. My point is that this is something that you need to think about. Which every way you go I wish you the best of luck.
  5. Do me a favor and let me know how it all works out. I have not yet tried any real type of invasion dealing with ground troops, and would love to know how it turns out for you. I am planing to attack a small naval unit this weekend.
  6. The way that works best for me, is to zoom in on the planet. Then rotate the view around intil I see the drone icon. click on it and I am now looking at the drone. The zoom to function also works really well too. But either way. you then just set your way points for the shuttle(s) and launch them. within a few minutes they should be picked up.
