  1. Lets see, normally the people writing it write about the slums even though they come from rich families. Not to mention you have to be high to write it and listen to it. Oh, and did I also mention that normally there is NO real instruments used. Thats also the reason I hate Techno.

Does anyone care about science. This is important stuff, run it while you're at work or at school.

EDIT: Oh, and FYI, you need to put your system profile info in your sig.

Heh. Looks like they've gone stale. What a shame.

Linkin Park is my band of choice, now.

Actually, my friends and I went to Jacksonville for the tryouts. They turned us around without even listening to any of us. We're starting to think that Wes hasn't really quit, its just a publicity hoax. Watch, Wes will be back by the end of the year.

As for the band of choice, Disturbed rocks.

Heheehehe, good, I'm looking foward to showing off that speed is better than firepower . And the be careful what you wish for thing is scaring me now... SC, I fear you. I have a scary feeling that the stations might be nearly as hard as the ODS sats if we don't watch out.

Never had any problem against a supercarrier or any other ship. Lets wait and see what mp has in store for us.

  5. hehehe

Ok, now a legitiment GBS-II question. Will it be possible to make sort of a Star Trek style science mission, go to so and so system, beam down so and so to surface loc xxx, xxx, gather info, Learn something your not supposed to know, 4 Stormcarriers enter system, fight like a fool or run for your life...

Epsilon, the Sunflash Heavy Cruiser is probably the most powerful ship in the game. Try taking a station on without PTAs and missles, gets a little harder eh? With 12 turrets it can take on just about anything with the PTAs. Not to say that I don't like the Sunflash, sometimes I just think that its too powerful in the hands of a living, breathing, commander.

Its all about gameplay balancing and there is a fine line between realism and FUN.

Well said SC. Unfortunately, you make one group of people happy, the others b*tch, and if you even the score, well, then both b*tch. They may be easy to beat for some of us, but they arn't for others, my friend is an example of that. Last night he was playing BCM on my computer and he attempted to destroy a station. I told him to wait for the ODS to get on the other side of the planet. He waited, then attacked, he was torn to shreds. This changed my outlook a bit on the stations. He's gotten pretty good at the game, can do a ground attack amazingly well, but he doesn't seem to be to hot in the space combat field. Maybe soon he'll actually buy the game, rather than use my frickin computer to play it... What I'm trying to say, is, that some people have different tactics, some work, others don't, and us who use one tactic might be able to take out a station, but people who use other equally good tactics, may have a harder time... Think of it from a commanders sense people...

I just got finished installing SuSE on my laptop (I like trying out different distros and my laptop always end up as a guinea pig) and after about a half hour I was done. Booted it up, brought to a nice graphical log-in shell, and a second later I was in GNOME. Without any other setup work I was playing around with some of the apps that came with the distro. It wasn't any more difficult or time consuming than when I upgraded to XP on this computer.

It goes without the saying that, other than on boot-up, I didn't see the bash shell once and I never had to mess with. Nor would I have to if I only intended to use it as my home computer.

The thing is most users shouldn't have to do this. I love linux, I really do, but now days for most people leisure time is something not to waste.(And I'm saying this in the BCM forum, heh ) One of the reasons I feel windows is popular is that you DON'T have to do this, and even now, unless you have a almost BRAND new computer, versions of most of your drivers are in XP. I agree that using xfree86 to set up Linux is very user friendly, most average home users would probably feel that it is a headache, more so than Windows.

I've seen it in bargin bins before, if you look hard enough you'll find one or two places that have it. Otherwise, (Some of my friends are gonna kill me for this, but its already becoming more and more popular) PriceWatch. This is the internets bargin bin.

EDIT: I just looked at pricewatch and saw 98 for $18.

  10. LOL This is great.

Its only phenomenal on the XBox primarily because its the only fp shooter so far, thats been fun on a console.

SC, have you forgotten GoldenEye. At the time that it came out I personally felt this was better than MANY computer FP Shooters. And I have a feeling that because of the fact that the X-Box is like a little computer in itself, it should hit it pretty big in the PC industry.

  11. ROFL!!!! Thats great Grayfox.

In that case I need to send a ship-wide message to RTFM. If you're so stupid as to not press a button when intruders are on board you shouldn't be on a starship.

Doubt it, he's my smartest guy (until I have to clone him of course). The blast door thing, I would think that intruders would carry explosives on them to breach doors like that(sort of like the modern C2 breaching charge, able to blast through just about any wooden door, strong enough to take down a small metal door with ease.)
