  1. What exactly do fleets do, I know they role play but will they operate like a clan once multiplayer is out?

Well the problem with how it's current setup is the universe lost the dynamic feel it had, I used to like going thro a system only to come back a couple hours later and find the station was destroyed, that doesnt happen anymore npc ships no matter the type get destroeyd before they leave hyperspace. Il elaborate, I started a new game once about 10 minutes after launching from galcom two cruisers and around four fighters, came and destroyed galcom, which I thought was really cool seeing that happen. My point is npc ships basicly cant do as much as they could before, and mainly serv as target pratic now. I was thinking maybe the pta systems could be dumbd down for npc ships, so it's still very chalangeing to the player, but would make it possible for npc ships to stand a chance againts stations?

I was thinking of another possible way to deal with stations, instead of haveing the pta systems so powerfull they destroy anything with out a cloaking system, did you think of setting them so they take a cruiser/carriers shielding down to about 800 this leaves the player very open to attack, now the station would launch four fighters and one possibly two cruiser/carriers to attack the player? this would make it so anyone with a heavy carrier/cruiser could attack stations, but would destroy smaller ships which have no buiness takeing on stations, also it would also give the npc cruiser/carriers a chance at destroying stations again, now if the player destroys the fighters or cruisers the station sends out more to keep constent pressure on the player? Stations are fine the way they are now. This idea adds nothing but bloat-code to BCM IMO. NPC craft that attempt to attack a Station deserve each DeD that results there of. Players just need to refine their CC skills wrt attacking/capturing SS. They're blind spots in the current SS defense - not many but a few - that would allow a CC without a cloaking system to be victorious over a SS.   4. I have hercules geforce2mx 32mb running at 2x agp. The game runs at 800x600 all textures effects set to 32bit and bitmap effects, if I run it at 1024x768 32bit I get 15/27 fps ... if I run it at 640x480 32bit I get 80/90 fps, if you use win2k/xp you could make a batch file and add this to get better performance. echo off start /abovenormal bcm.exe or this, makes the game run unstable tho.. start /high bcm.exe

That doesn't work either I forgot to mention this before I started a new game as a ter/ins, friendly vel/mil ships keep attacking me? I have pictures of a vel/mil ship with SAD orders and my ships name under them, yes he was shooting at me to. If you don't know how the alliances in the game work; go read about it. I knew about this one for a while but since mp is comming I gues it be a good time to bring it up, this could possibly be used as an expliot to not use any radin. land on a planet give your cc the halt order turn on auto pilot turn your engine off in the hud and in logistix now press 9 or any number key and your engine will turn back on with out actually turning back on its still off in logistix ala not consumeing power Something similer is happening with the shielding this I cannot explane, but turn your shielding off via the hud and in logistix, after a couple hours it somehow turns back on and is also not consumeing power because its still off in logistix Im only posting thes now because I beleave thes could be used to effectively cheat in multiplayer same for singleplayer. I like the new stations there hard to destroy now (which is a good thing), except I think they should start a sos at about 1000 not 100, because it seems like your to busy trying to avoid their pta systems, to stop in one place and pick away at the hull, plus the fighters shooting at you and missing hitting the station. ods systems are extremely hard to destroy.. But I will provale er after maybe loseing about 30 CC's Another possible problem I noticd fighters get destroyed allmost instantly now from station pta systems, maybe they could do evasife manuvers if there ai is 50 or above to miss the pta beams? Edit: after playing a few hours I noticd the npc ships dont have a chance anywhere near a station, they get destroyed before even getting a shot off thats a bad thing before I used to have to actually defend stations, maybe pta systems could miss npc ships more do less damage, I mean its better for humens how the stations are now but the poor npc's are at a disadvantage You said you wanted feedback il go move into the airlock now [ 02-28-2002, 02:59: Message edited by: xierxior ]
  9. Remmber tho's bases which where in the wrong locations, theres one possibly more, in the instant action/extreme carnage universe on the moon satani. I was trying to check out the new stations quickly and happend to notic it. Well, which one? Or do you just want to prolong the dialogue and waste my time? And if your viewing the terrain of a planet in tacops while your cc is in space any ship that enters the regon doesnt get renderd. Works perfectly fine here steps to reproduce start new game open tacops view planet any base wait for ships to enter regin exit tacops target one of the ships which just enterd the regin press f10 to view the ship Fratux thats a problem with your install I just tried it the station lookd fine I beleave you got a courpted or incomplete patch.   12. Man I cant wait for xp1, I can see it now building a huge city or base on a moon, launching nuclear warheads at the insurgant bases on the planet the moon is orbiting. All while your commanding a fleet launched from the space station you built around the moon. I think its safe to say xp1 will be so beyond anything currently out its mind boggling. This brings me to a small question I never seen a base get attacked on a planet, if you build a base will the ai be more compelled to attack user made bases or citys?

I downloaded and extracted the 1.0.0.5 SP1 patch now if your in first person mode the SCAT1 PISTOL and ZS10 COMBAT ASSAULT RIFLE fire extremely fast you can emty a entire clip in under a second. I uninstalled bcm and deleted the directory reinstalled 1.0.0.5 and the weapons fire like they should. So im sure it's the 1.0.0.5 SP1 Can someone els confirm this?
  14. /me volentiers I downloaded spider-man's saved game and followed the instructions exactly. upon retrieving the 4th drone I got a ctd.
  15. Im not sure if this is an issue or not but the pta's on some ships will not fire on stations. Example start a new game pick a aestorm point it directly at a station or any angle and the pta's will only blink a few times never fire consistently.   17. omg what have we done 2500! the stations are going to tear us up.   18. argh i was about four days into my game i just saved and when i went to reload it the game crashed. is the save file courrpted do you want to take a look or should i wait for the 1.0.06 patch and start a new game?
  19. ods's arnt to powerfull there designd to defend planets, there easy to take out if your ship has cloaking if it doesnt your ship obveusly wasnt desingd for takeing them out, ala heavy cruisers/fighters, if i had it my way staions would have double the turrets and theyd be blue pta's, youd need a massive fleet to take one out.

If you have a geforce card some of the older drivers cause the game to lockup at the end of a save the solution is going to newer drivers, the 27.30's have a few small glitchs in them not half as bad as the 23.11's tho, I would also set my adapters buffering mode to uswc and 64mb in your bios. I think you need to email him and set the record straight there reinventing the wheel and did he mention its going to be for x-box? im sorry i cant even imagine a game that advanced cough running on a x-box, the controls alone would be an issue and if you ask me the x-box is way underpowerd [ 02-12-2002, 22:09: Message edited by: xierxior ]
  25. sunflash isnt the most powerfull ship in the game id like to see it take on a super carrier or warmonger in multiplayer, you do know the aestorm super carrier can fire all its pta turrets foward so if you keep a station/ship in the target reticle its toast! only draw back is the shielding is weak you cant take on a ods with it unless you have a death wish of course and how come the gamme station is stronger then galcom! thats the only station thats ever destroyed me.
