  1. Thank you sir for the personal response. I will continue on my way then. Good to know they were not removed for some reason. Have a great Christmas Holiday SC.
  2. Been a long time fan of the Battlecruiser series since Millenium. Got into UC and played it too death and haven't thought about it since. Well, I just happened to find this site again, and pulled up my old account and noticed there are new games in the UC series. I ordered one from Walmart.com and got it the next day. It's nice to be back into the game again. So my question...I have not seen a single crate drop in my roam games in UC:CE. I used to love popping ships and getting a crate, and the excitement of getting to a good drop before the competition did. It was also the best way to make money. I cannot find any info of this subject, and am wondering if this is something that was changed since the first UC game? I hope not, looting dead ships was my favorite thing to do. Maybe less of these crates drop, but whatever it is haven't seen a single on in about 5 hours of game time. Thank you for your time.
  3. quote: Hey I can scan my manual and you guys can pin it here. I don't think that is advisable, the SC has already answered the question and the guy already found his manual. If you were to post a copy of the manual, I'm pretty darn sure it would disappear, fast.
  4. I thought that I'll add that these Uregions are swarming with enimies. I managed to pick up the best upgrade for the engines, and numerous other upgrades that I could sell for credits. When you are in these massive battles, you will almost always have enimies on board you CC, so I'd not come here in a cruiser. If anyone knows what a debris field is for, I'd like to know. It's classified as a hazard so Im guessing it is something you don't want to fly into.
  5. I believe at Droia, possibly obsidia, that there is a flux that will take you to a Uregion with a debris field in the middle, (no graphics though, I have no idea what it does) and about six diffent flux points. Each other flux brings you to another Uregion. I went exploring there and was trapped for a few hours game time. I ran out of plutonium and had about 80 radine left when I escaped. I'm not going to tell you how to get out, just to save you the fun . Anyways, I did a search and found some really interesting galaxian stuff. I guess multiplayer hides some more secrets than multiplayer, but i've never played it. Time to do so I think. Any notes or comments would be appreciated. I want to know how many of you have found these Uregions, or have come across any other hidden things lurking about.
  6. quote: Any new news? Not really anything new in single player. I don't know if it is just me, but has anyone noticed the probe can't be damaged? I used a mayhem tank, and my contantly being damaged CC. Nothing seemed to damage it, but it did show the sparks like it was being hit. That be prepared, we are coming message is really creepy. Was it an incoming message from an unkown source? I don't know but is wasn't the comms officer.
  7. I still haven't checked out Stargazer in UC yet. I will sometime next week, I just hope that there is more to these Galaxians than there was in BCM. The mystery behind this race is perplexing, and one day I hope to learn all about them. I can't wait until the mystery is unraveled.
  8. My thanks for moving the thread, but newbie thread? Just kidding, it's just I wasn't too sure if it was a tech issue. Ok, thanks for looking into it Bandus, I'm going to try right now. ----- I was just able to reproduce the starbase repairing problem. It seems as though I may have been mistaken by the other though. The engineers didn't leave their job when i left the ship. Heres what I did 1.Launched as a battcruiser mk3 ter/mil 2.I went out in a fighter and shot up my ship until some hull damage occured. 3.Docked with my CC, then docked to Galcom. 4.Started repairs on the hull, then went to tradecom. 5.I left the station and watched the hull/armor guage on the main screen. It was going up as if it were being repaired. I checked perscan, nobody was repairing. It may not matter, but the engineering officer said "hull/armor is under repair" when I left the station. 9. Two things I've noticed with Sys engineers. 1. When leaving your CC, all engineers stop working and go back to on-station. Shouldn't they continue on their task without me? 2. If you start a repair on a space station and then leave, the repairs will continue, even though the engineers are not working anymore. My example would be...I docked at New Frontier as a Ter/Ins with some minor hull damage. I used their free parts to start repairing while I traded. I left the station with 91% hull remaining. I notice about every minute or so, this number would be raising on display. I hadn't assigned the sys engineers yet, and I double checked with perscan. no body working, systems repairing. Eventually the hull reached 100%. I just noticed these today, and I'm going to check them out some more. If anybody else has these problems, please let me know.
  10. Thanks alot Mano Faber, I knew someone somewhere would have said what I did. So I'll just fix my post if I still can.
  11. I finally got UC last week, and just started playing it. I'm so used to the old controls I have to have the insert with the controls on it handy at all times. Everything seems pretty cool, but I noticed a few things. 1. At one point or another, i remember you (SC) talking about being able to send marines to different parts of your CC like Deck 1 Deck 2, you know. Is this ever going to be implemented? I think that would make it a little easier defending your ship against them intruders, definatly when you only have a few marines in a heavy cruiser! 2. I could be wrong about this, but I thought somewhere it was said you could send marines over to capture other ships. Will this ever be feasable? The game looks great and I'm sorry about the budget price, except EB charged me the FULL $40! I preordered UC as soon as I could, which was a long long time ago. Maybe thats why, I'm just not to happy with EB keeping the extra, because you should be the one getting it SC. Still, I really like how some of the ships look. One minor tick, why is there trees EVERYWHERE. I used tacops to look at Earth when I started. I looked around everything was nice. Then I looked at the North pole. More green. I can understand the time it might take to fix this on every single planet that has trees and grass, so don't take this too seriously. I like the control sheme for space flight. It got rid of an old peeve I had with tapping 0 and instantly stopping. Lastly, I know it's been said enough, but stations have no chance of being destroyed, ever. Unless you use the cloak trick which gives you 100% chance of success because it can't fire back. Resnig looks so happy now! I liked his old clueless, toughguy grin.
  12. Yeah, I've been looking at all these posts and some of them are just silly. All SC did was ask you to be polite, and what happens? The opposite of what he wanted, which has been happening alot lately. I can't wait to play UC, it's sitting down at the post office and I can't get it until tommarow. So I'll just continue looking over posts till then. I just hope this influx of disrespectful newbies cools down soon, I want the old board back.
  13. quote: 3-Assign marines to drive the OCV or personel with high AI. I believe GhostPilot is right about the reason for the OC for not working. Much of what the marines and pilots do, revolves around how good their AI is. I haven't tried much ground ops with my marines, they usually die too. Experiment with this and see if anything changes. Hope this helps.

Without your persistency and dedication, things could have been really bad. Looks like things are starting to look up, at least for our side of things. DC actually made 30,000 copies... There had to be some HUGE communication problems from within DC for them to be shelling out those faulty disks. DS was totally clear, but they still went on like nothing was wrong with the RC1 copy. Lawyers must speak a language everybody can understand . Well, at least their mistakes will cost them, and not DS. I hope everybody has a Merry Christmas, and I look forward to be gaming with you all very soon!

  16. Man, I'm sorry Derek, this is all really too bad. I wish that DC would just actually listen too you. They may have missed the Christmas rush sure, but if they release RC1 build, they are just screwing themselves out of sales even more. Also, the future reproductions for releasing it early would be devastating. DC needs to understand you know what you are talking about, and stop this nonsense. I just hope it isn't too late, good luck Derek.

  18. quote: My guess is that the engines are needed to stop, so if they get shot out too quickly it just goes flying off, helpless Exactly right toxicfrog. When a ship is disabled very quickly it will not have time too shut off it's engines, which is the only way to slow down. Without friction, a ship will keep on it's course indefinately. This has happened to my own fighters before, and I couldn't catch up to them no matter what I did, so I reloaded the game. Personally, I don't waste the time capturing ships, I just blow em up!
  19. Sephiroth from FF7. He killed Aeries , has a big sword, and is a total bad ass. Gotta be one of the most evil and merciless villains out there. (oh ya, forgot to say I completely agree with Vegeta)
  20. Wow, thanks for all the pointers! As for there being another question already on the forums, I thought my question was different enough to be asked. You may be right about being hit many times, but my shields were down only for a split second. My systems took very small damage, but was spread over numerous systems. More anoying than damaging really. When I am a cruiser I had lots of problems with intruders, I didn't know about the EMD preventing a beam over, so thanks alot! I'm not really bad at the game, just havent played it much at a time, and could never find that perfect ship for me, though I like the Megaron and Battlecruiser MK1-MK3.
  21. Thanks for the reply, but, it did not help. Shields keep weapons from damaging the armor and hull, no system damage can occur while they are up. I did upgrade both my armor and shields. My question is how does more armor HP's help, when your ship takes system damage from every hit, even if your armor is at full. I did notice that fighters can be brought down to 0 hull and still fight. I have to keep shooting them for awhile even though they seem like they should go boom. CC's don't do this. So, how does upgraded ARMOR help?
  22. I bought BCM a long time ago and played it every now and then, never got into a game more than an hour and would die burning and screeming. Recently, I have started a game and I'm now a day in it at least. I'm working on randoming the gammulan empire. I'm flying a Battlecruiser MK1, after trying each ship, I just liked this one more. I really liked the sunflash, but with no RE, I cannot get artifacts to work. Well, my question is about upgrading systems. I bought the best shields first, saved up for titanium V, (or whatever the best one was). After installing it I went off to kill some gammies. I neared the gamma planets and got constantly attacked over and over again by capital ships...and there fighters. The CC's are easily defeated, the fighters are a bit harder. My shields dropped and I took a SINGLE laser hit on my armor. What I would like to know is why this single laser hit damaged numerous systems with only getting my hull/armor down to 99. I don't see what upgraded armor does for me besides prolong the time I have to stare at my CC cracking and popping after the reactor goes critical (thats been how I die every time). Armor should protect the hull and systems, and after being hit enough, let more and more damage get through. BUT, I am not a game developer, nor am I SC , and I know you did this for a reason. (Saving up for generation and a new video card, gonna be the best game ever!)
  23. I have been trying out all the different carriers to see how each fights with it's PTA system. I have heard about ships having, the "sweet spot", the area where you want your enemy to be to get the most damage out of your turrets. I have been completely unable to find this spot on hardly any of the ships ,usually they don't fire much at all. I don't care for cruisers, I haven't really got into them much. Also, the two super carriers I don't normally use. I would like someone to tell me about the Megaron, Violon, and the BC mk3 turrets archs, it would help me alot, thanks . One more thing I forgot, is there a way to use the BC Studio to find the turret archs? [ 06-29-2003, 04:45 AM: Message edited by: Pyromaniac ]
  24. I have a little question for you all. I have read through most of the forums about the crashed probe on obsidia, it made me curious and I went there. I found it with ease and went down in my SC to look at it and test the mineral composition of the planet. When I found it, I got out in my OC (thank god not just my AE, I just read that you die! ). OK, I drive up to the probe and don't see anything strange, so I shoot at it. The bugger blows up in one shot and still, nothing happens. I get back to my shuttle and go back to the CC. I then make my way to Stargazer. It's really funny how much traffic is there considering it's remote location. I once again take my SC down to the mission zone to again check out the minerals and too see whats up with the mission zone. Aparently nothing( so I think). Back at the CC, I go to tacops to observe the planet, and I see something really wierd...Under MY probe panel in tacops, it was flashing SUL over and over . It may have happened because of the probe on obsidia, but I don't know. Does anybody know what SUL is, and what is in the "empty" mission zone on Stargazer? I gonna check it out a little more tonight, I really want to find the secret behind all this.
  25. The one thing that will make me happy in BCG, is the improved ground based attention. BCM has the ship combat down great, except for the immediate stopping of ships, which has already been said. I'm just wondering the following... 1)Will OC's has moving componets? Like turrets, wheels, ect. 2)Will you really be able to fire your handheld weapon when inside an OC? Some screenshots I saw looked like you could. 3)Will water based crafts be able to interact with the surface at all? 4)Obviously, a submarine can not hyperjump, so do you have to stay in one area, or mission zone? Thats it, thanks for your time. [ 06-28-2003, 12:57 PM: Message edited by: Pyromaniac ]
