I will probably port that scenario over to the full game, at some point. Has anyone actually finished that mission? I mean, I know I wouldn't. "Mwahahahahaha! Die *****!"
  2. "No one fights alone!" ... except the British. And sometimes the Russians. But not the Americans!
  3. Cool beans! I hope it's cooler than the first one. Not that it sucked, or anything. It just got boring after beating it.
  4. quote:Originally posted by LostInSpace: Yup that's what I'm doing. Can't make a judgement on it till it's seen. Female Starbuck.
  5. I really don't think anyone here posted that. quote:ps: I've never owned a DS game. They are not my type but this UC has me all excited and plan on picking it up.Don't you have to own one of the BC games to register for this forum, anyway?
  6. Something tells me that this would constitute "justifiable homicide," should they ever find the person or persons responsible for this. Which do you think would be worse for them, being someone's prison byotch, tarred, feathered, and beaten with bamboo, or death by sock puppet suffocation?

  8. quote:Originally posted by Sebbish: They kept the time compression from Cataclysm, right? That was very useful, because I hated having to wait to harvest all the asteroids at the end of a mission. Relic didn't make Cataclysm. Barking Dog Studios did. But, if I were a bettin' man, which I'm not, I'd bet they integrated something similar.
  9. I read somewhere that Mars is the closest its been in 60,000 years! And, it's supposed to be closest tomorrow. Or today, depending where you are... Wednesday.
  10. quote:Originally posted by Grayfox: PERCUSSIVE MAINTENANCE-- The fine art of whacking the crap out of an electronic device to get it to work again. I've heard that called "Impact Engineering." That's what all Microsoft products are based on.
  11. Always, always wear clothes to the interview. People say the first thing they look at is your attitude, but it's always whether you're wearing clothes or not. On a personal note, I recently applied to a gas station, the guy wanted me to stand out by the pump, clean peoples windows for them, and help them pump their gas if necessary. My thinking is, if you can't pump your own goddamn gas, you shouldn't be driving anyway. Needless to say, I didn't take that job. But, you should always wear clothes. That's important.
  12. Sweet! Freakin' Sweet! So far, it worked! I just installed Arcanum from cd, and there were no problems. Hopefully that's the end of that! If it is, thanks to everybody for the help. If it isn't, I'm going to smash this entire system with a rock, and lease an Alienware for the next six years. Either way, it's a win=win situation. Thanks guys! Dancing Bananna!
  13. quote:Originally posted by Greg Miller: Then Start Win98 in Safe Mode and then try to apply the patch. If that don't work, then I say reinstall the OS. That is your only other option. Okay, that worked. Installing it, anyway. Don't know about the rest just yet. Hey, just for the record, is it F5 or F8 that loads Safe Mode? I held both of them, much to my computers annoyance. I'm going to try to install something from a cd.

Just click on this sentence and a box should come starting the download. When done, find the file and execute it, follow the directions on the screen. When I try to open that program, it causes a fatal error.
  15. quote:Originally posted by LostInSpace: On top of updating the VIA 4in1 drivers go to the motherboard manufacturer and update the bios as well. I check your motherboard manufacturer and there is a bios update CHAINTECH MOTHERBOARDS. Also if you do a re-install of windows again I find that if you take out your pci cards except for the video card windows installation goes a lot smoother. Whenever I click on that site, Explorer performs an "illegal operation" and internet explorer must "close a window" or whatever. Gee, thanks Bill Gates, for this wonderful system.

  17. Ah, christ. How can I find out if I've screwed myself or not?
  18. quote:Originally posted by LostInSpace: quote:Originally posted by Hades: No, it only started happening after I reformatted my computer. And, if I didn't have adequate power, wouldn't it freeze in other instances as well, besides installing and boot up. Wouldn't it freeze a lot, just all the time? Ah some progress with your system listing. don't worry we will get you up and running shortly well that is if it's not hardware failure. One more question how long have you had this system and when did you install the new video card. When you installed the video card, did you remember to unplug the power cord and hit the power button to drain the excess electricity from the system? I've had this system for about a year-and-a-half, and I put in the new video card around June. And, no. I didn't even know I had to do that.

That's funny. This system can detect my built-in sound card, but windows can't. Pshaw.
  21. Does that mean I can hit it with a rock? Oh, and I downloaded that AIDA32 diagnostic thingamajig. How do I tell if something's wrong with my comp? And, will hitting it with a rock fix it? How about a wooden baseball bat? That would help me.
  22. Sorry, I'm technologicly retarded. None of these things make sense to me. If my computer can turn on without freezing during start up, freezing when I install from cd, or freeze whenever I ctrl-alt-del something, that means it's working. Unfortunately, that's not the case. My comp freezes during all three of these instances. The only solution my computer illiterate brain can come up with is smashing the entire thing with a large rock, then cursing the gods. If this were a religion, I'd be the guy dancing in a hula skirt to the volcano god. And, is there a smiley that shows a hand going over a head? Like, oh, well, you'd have to be here. Edit: Wait, hang on! quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: Are you using AOL? Are you running an AMD processor? Does your hardware predate Windows XP? Okay, no, yes, and... maybe? I'm using 98 still.
