  1. Yahoo news: What a difference an 'a' makes.

    Software changes Armstrong's moon quote:

HOUSTON - That's one small word for astronaut Neil Armstrong, one giant revision for grammar sticklers everywhere.

An Australian computer programmer says he found the missing "a" from Armstrong's famous first words from the moon in 1969, when the world heard the phrase, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

  2. CNN: Oliver Stone: 'I'm ashamed for my country'

    quote:

SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain (AP) -- Filmmaker Oliver Stone blasted President George W. Bush Thursday, saying he has "set America back 10 years."

Stone added that he is "ashamed for my country" over the war in Iraq and the U.S. policies in response to the attacks of September 11.

I'm sorry Mr. Stone but I disagree with you. Things couldn't have gotten any better these past few years than in the past 10 as you say. Pretty much all diplomatic relations with all the countries are unchanged. In fact there are a few countries that our diplomatic ties has strengthened such as Pakistan and afghanistan. Who'd have thought. The American economy is also stronger than it was 10 years ago even with all that is going on. Even if Iraq turns into a disaster (which it won't), it still sends a powerful message to the entire world: "Don't mess with us or this too will happen to you"

Anyway, Let's see, Clinton was in office 10 years ago which means that, as you suggest, we are back in the Clinton era in terms of global and domestic political policy and economy. So I don't know what you mean by being set back 10 years. Is this some sort of diss on Clinton. I'm sure he'd have something to say about that and his legacy. Not a very nice thing to do to your democratic poster boy.

Good thing there are more people who stand up and are proud of our country than those who are ashamed. Sadly, you will never see much of the proud american on the liberal media.

    Evolutionary, survival of the fittest...

I give the ladies what they want, they allow me to procreate, you don't, and you don't.

    End of story...LOL

Oh man, you are so whipped. You've been a prisoner in the slaveitude (made up word) of marriage for so long, you've forgotten what it's like to be a free man.

On a side note, a few weeks ago a research report stated that men are on average smarter than women. Claims of being "right" all the time doesn't make one any smarter

    Me:

    God:

    God:

Suppose it does. Suppose it does. What do you want me to tell you?

    Me:

What do you want me to tell you?

    God:

    What?

    Me:

    What?

    God:

Is there an echo in here?

    Me:

Is there an echo in here?

    God:

    It sounds like an echo.

  5. I guess that's bound to happen when one stays stagnant for a couple of hundred years.

Iranian leader urges more papal protests

    quote:

Islamic leaders around the world issued more condemnations of the pope's comments, but some moderates in the Middle East appeared to be trying to put a damper on the outrage, fearing it could spiral into attacks on Christians in the region.

Heh, a bit late for that. Funny how the media has down played the attacks and burning of five christian churches in palestine.

5 churches attacked in Palestinian areas following Pope's comments on Islam

I say this thing needs to come to a head sooner rather than later.

  6. VATICAN CITY -

Pope Benedict XVI "sincerely regrets" offending Muslims with his reference to an obscure medieval text that characterizes some of the teachings of Islam's founder as "evil and inhuman," the

    Vatican said Saturday.

But the statement stopped short of the apology demanded by Islamic leaders around the globe, and anger among Muslims remained intense. Palestinians attacked five churches in the West Bank and Gaza over the pope's remarks Tuesday in a speech to university professors in his native Germany.

I'm glad the pope is standing his ground. Of the muslims keep this crap up, they are going to find that they've bitten off more than they can chew.

It looks like yet another space sim shooter in the vein of Darkstar One, albeit this one looks a lot nicer.

Are space sims making a comeback or am I just jumping to conclusions again?

As for myself, I've always said that any genre isn't dead. It will come back. Such as Space Sims and even adventure games. What I think happens is that the ideas dry up for a particular genre and they are put away for another day. Some may say the genre is dead because of this but I say that it's just hibernating until a better day.

Trustees called traitors for admitting men

    quote:

LYNCHBURG, Virginia (AP) -- Amid boos and shouts of "traitors" Randolph-Macon Woman's College officials announced Saturday that men would be admitted to the 115-year-old institution starting in 2007.

In the eyes of the board of trustees, going coed could help stabilize the school's finances as interest in all-women schools wanes.

But when officials floated the idea last month, it drew a sharp response. Online petitions and campus protests decried the move, angry e-mail flooded in, one alumnae group even hired a lawyer to try to discourage the board by citing legal concerns.

You can't have it one way ladies.

Verifiable by what? They didn't give any links of any official newspapers or official city records, just other "home made" sites.

I looked it them up myself and didn't rely on the links that were provided.

  12. And so it begins my friends:

(CNN) -- John Mark Karr, the suspect in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, should be in Colorado by "early next week," his lawyers said, but authorities have declined to give his attorneys a specific time and date.

    further down in the article:

    quote:

Meanwhile, producer Larry Garrison said he has obtained the film and television rights to the family's story. No money has changed hands, Garrison said, but if money is made by the Karr family, it will be used for Karr's legal fees and for his children's college education.
