  1. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Is it really that easy? I had tried before to get saved BC3000 games to play, but I have never had success. I usually install a fresh copy of the game, I follow all the instructions on applying the patches, and then I have copied the save file, or even the entire contents of the previous BC3000AD folder which I had backed up. All to no avail. I will try it again though, in hopes your suggestion will work. I hope it does, because I had captured most of the Terran Quadrant, dammit! Just had gotten Spectre in my sights. There's still a few of us out here with old computers flying the original Battlecruiser! It's still my favorite game, and someday, when I get my new machine, I look foreward to playing the newest versions, as they all look great. Thanks for your help, Epsilon 5.
  2. My computer crapped out, but not before I backed up everything in my BC3K folder onto CD. (My version of the game is from a store bought CD upgraded to ver 2.9, mappacks installed) I had to reinstall everything to get my system running and I was hoping there was a way to transplant my saved games onto my new system. Is this possible? Can anybody point me to a thread where I might find out more information if it is possible? Thanks.
  3. WooHoo! Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard!
  4. The above link, www.battlestargalactica.com IS correct. Due to a faulty DNS server, they are currently experiencing downtime. No ETA on when they will be back up. Their sister site is www.battlestarpegasus.com - you can find a lot of the same information there. [ 09-04-2001: Message edited by: craven image ] [ 09-04-2001: Message edited by: craven image ]
  5. Actually, that occurred on the sequel to Battlestar Galactica, which was called Galactica 1980. The current plan is to forget that miserable flop even occurred. If you are interested in knowing more about where the revival stands at this time, www.battlestargalactica.com has a lot of information, and also names and addresses of all TPTB's in charge of this new production. Right now, final decisions are being made, and the fans that liked this show need to make some noise about what they want. If you're going to post a link, GET IT RIGHT!!!. After TWO tries, you'd think you would have got the link correct by now [ 09-04-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  6. Hey all. How many of you were fans of the old scifi show "Battlestar Galactica"? OK, then, how many of you were aware Universal Studios is bringing Battlestar Galactica back under the direction of Bryan Singer and Tom DeSanto, the two guys responsible for the X-men movie? Sounds great doesn't it. But what if I told you they had no plans to use Richard Hatch - Apollo from the old show. And that if they do use any of the other characters they will probably not be brought back in any meaningful way. Why am I bugging you guys about this? Because the next two weeks are a very critical time in this process, and the fans need to make their voices heard NOW! If you enjoyed the show and original cast and themes, then please head over to http://www.petitiononline.com/bsg2001a/petition.html and sign the petition stating we want the original cast back! Thanks for the help, and for kindly letting me post this off topic message. p.s. Can't wait for the new BCM! I am in the process of upgrading my poor old voodooII, Pentium II machine as we speak so I can run this puppy! My compliments to you for not releasing a product until it is Finished! Very refreshing in the gaming industry these days.
  7. Doh! Thanks Parias-it's workin like a charm now. Gotta go - I think the gammulon quadrant's calling my name!
  8. I am trying to install playmod1 to version 2.08 so I can have the artifacts. I followed the instructions about creating a new profile, exiting, and then executing the playmod1 file, both through DOS and Explorer. Each time I do I get a DOS message that tells me C:BC3000AD>playmod set cheat 1 Bad command or filename C:BC3000AD>playmod set cheat 6 Bad command or filename C:BC3000AD echo Done! Done C:BC3000AD Obviously these are very ominous sounding messages my computer is giving me! when I check the game just to make sure I don't have the artifacts. What am I doing wrong? I have tried a complete reinstall of everything to see if that helps but I get the same messsage. I have the playmod1 file unzipped directly into my BC3000AD folder and as I said have tried to run it several ways, always deleting the current profile between attempts. I have followed the install file to the letter as far as starting a new profile, etc. Any ideas what I should do?
