  1. Why are you all mourning? The man lived to be 93! That should be celebrated.
  2. That chasing beaver one is really stupid... Like, I mean really stupid!! Is it that really a Molson Canadian beer commercial, cuz their commercials are actually meant to be retarded like that...?
  3. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: OK, this is interesting to say the least. First read this accounting of events. Then read this forum post by one of the STALKER devs. Wow, I found her website to be touching... And now, several weeks later, I found it was all a shame. Man, I feel like such a goof for falling for that junk. sheesh...
  4. WOW!!! It's THIS very post that got me into Falcon. To think if I had just ignored this thread, on that Monday morning in February, I would have never even heard of this flight sim's development and it's aims to make it modern and better. The Falcon story is a very interesting saga of fan ambition, and I encourage everyone to take the time check it out and read up on it!! ...when you're free from UC or BCM of course
  5. quote:Originally posted by Hellbinder: I have no Doubt now that Sega will introduce a new console within a couple years. Oh hahahahahaha!!!!!!!! Bo hahahahahah!! Now isn't that a laugh...
  6. quote:Originally posted by LostInSpace: ...Anyway, may I suggest to him that he use Game Commander... I concur Game Commander 2 is the way to go! This game and that piece of software go hand and hand. I'd recommend it to anyone who plays a 3000ad game! ER
  7. Have any of you guys heard of Wulfram II ?? I have been playing this for 2 years now and I love it!! I worked my way up to level 11, so I am now considered a vet. In the last couple of months though, the player pool has been slipping slightly. So, in light of this, we have been asked to spread the news and get more people into this kickass tactical, strategy and action MPOG. If you think the graphics are too outdated for yah, well.... you are missing out and shouldn't really judge a GOOD book by its cover. The gameplay is superb and that's really all you need to ask for. Oh by the way, It is 100% *FREE* So read the sight thoroughly and give it a try...
  8. quote:Originally posted by Hellbinder: actually that is incorrect. Captain america can lift a small car. His strength is enhanced past normal human limits. Cap can lift/press approx 1 Ton. Or 2,000 pounds. *NERD ALERT* VOOT VOOT *NERD ALERT* *NERD ALERT* VOOT VOOT *NERD ALERT*
  9. quote:Originally posted by Wolferz: The 9/11 panel is nothing more than a group of political vultures who want to feed their own agendas by using a terrible event... I 2nd that! I totally agree... quote:...a proven technology that can turn any carbon based material into oil... Umm... I missed something? What is this technology !?
  10. Man, I have been playing Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age for the past week or so and I absolutely love the premise of the games. Sneaking around in the dark is just kickass! I really can't see how they could possibly add to this game, as far as game play features go. In fact, I think any major adjustments to the game play scheme would just ruin the concept. Do you think the Thief lead, Randy Smith, stepped down voluntarily or someone fired his ass? Because, With that guy gone, what's stopping people from making this into an 'action-packed-just-like-everyone-else-today' kind of game!? *keeping my fingers crossed*
  11. I hope this thread doesn't turn into an ethnic bashing fest.
  12. Well, one things for sure, the flight combat sim will never get tired. It will probably be perfected again and again until it captures the real thing. And that's nothing to get sad over DeepFreeze. That?s good news to me, only in this regard though... I agree, that all those other genres are just making clones up the wazoo. One genre I wish they would focus more on also is free roam or Exploration.
  13. Wow! I heard about this The Airborne Laser thinger before. I saw it on television. They USAF rep, in the tv program, couldn't show much though, "top secret" sort of dealy. To have that on a fighter, with a rotational mount, would be b*tchin!! Nothing could touch that jet. Well, at least until they develop counter measures against it. For all of you who don?t fill like reading all that, thi is what the ABL does: "The pointing and tracking system tracks the missile and provides launch and predicted impact locations. The turret at the nose of the aircraft swivels towards the target and a 1.5 metre telescope mirror system inside the nose focuses the laser beam onto the missile. The laser beam is locked onto the missile, which is destroyed near its launch area within seconds of lock-on. Where the missile carries liquid fuel, the laser can heat a spot on the missile's fuel tank, causing an increase in internal pressure resulting in catastrophic failure." Cool eh? If that captures your interest, read Mano links provided above.
  14. "...and I would love to see the "oh sh##" face of the first victim before he ate it." ROFL
  15. Marvin, I can see your points... And wow it's amazing, if I'm reading you correctly, that F4 versions were not capable of cannon fire!!! Also, I'm not getting my SU figures from Jane's. I'm getting it from everywhere, even you people... The Rearward missile (the topic) has not been fully tested, so we really don?t know its effectiveness yet... In theory, it sounds like would scare the sh*t out of me in a dogfight. I've recently read that the SU-35 is the first ever craft to break the sound barrier in vertical flight... Wow, that's impressive! Their vertical flight system is very advanced compared to western Aircraft. It Makes the JSF and Raptor look like amateurs, only in this regard. As for USAF stealth: Well, the stealth factor is challenged by the SU-35 critics. The Su-35, apparently, is the most aero dynamic Superfighter of its kind. From the SU-website: "A large heavy super fighter with no stealth capabilities, does not need to hide from anyone". They claim, its "Ahead by century" in maneuverability and agility that it could stand against any Stealth capable foe. I dont know if this entirely true myself, I will leave you to take swings t this one?
  16. Wow, interesting read. Thanks for the informative reply Mano. I really think this addition could give someone a little more of an edge in a dogfight (close combat). Even if the dominant pilot were to evade the "head on" missile, he would have to maneuver and forfeit his favorable position of being on the bogeys six. The pilot, who was once in the weaker position, could then swing back and take the dominant role. Reading these facts, and other available critics on the net, it seems these SU-35 are certainly better planes than any aircraft the USAF have at the moment. The USAF better update their armament before more third world countries acquire these bad boys!!! That Air dominance that the USAF loves so much, in war operations, might be a little hard to get in the future. And in response to the other post above. From my recollection, there isn't an Air-to-Air missile that can fire from 60 miles. I believe the farthest can go 50 miles. A missile that was capable was the AIM-Phoenix, seen on F-14s, but I think the project was scarped. The missile was only used twice, both times being ineffective.
  17. I always wondered, how come MODERN jet fighters don't have rear close combat missiles, or at least some sort of rear weapon, mounted on the back of the plane to get a deadly bogey of their vulnerable six? Does it have to do with the physics? Can projectiles be propelled from the rear of plane with pinpoint accuracy at such velocities? I dont know, WWII gunners could do it... It baffles me why Jet-fighter developers haven't come up with something of this nature? I know fighters have counter measures, but what about actual weapons!!? Is anyone capable of shedding light on this topic, any of you smart engineers? Perhaps there is something already, or in development.
  18. quote:Originally posted by Delta1: Heard a rumor, though probaly rubbish, that the US have already captured Bin laden, but is keeping it under wraps till the election nears. Wouldn't doubt it for a second....
  19. Wasn't their reports that Bin Ladden might have already died from his severe kidney trouble months ago? There has not been any solid evidence, in a long time, which proves he is even still alive? I think all of this is just unnecessary skepticism in order to promote the Bush administration before elections, or to misdirect from whatever problems are occurring on the home front... That's all the Republican Party has done since they've come to office anyways... They utilize and exploit these kinds of events all the time!!!
  20. Has anyone tried this ? I use GameCommnder 2 , and it runs ok, but I sometimes run into compatible problems with the XP. Other than that, it runs flawlessly 95% of the time. But I wonder if GC2 was worth the money, when this baby might be better? I'm going to install and see what its like. If anyone of you is not exactly sure what this type of software does, well I'll tell yah. Basically, it allows you to convert complex game keystrokes, like the ones seen in Flight Sims radio commands, into simple brief phrases. It really boosts the immersion factor too, to actually talk to your wingman. You can say, "break left!" instead of a whole bunch of radio submenus. (Even works for Battlecruiser ) So I thought you freeware people might want to check this one out, it beats paying $40 for GC2 like I did. Try it out if you want, and tell me what you think by putting your input here... Extinct_Reptilia
  21. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: quote:Originally posted by Extinct_Reptilia: ...one MAIN concern though Mr. Smart. Since these titles are going to be based somewhat to that of the Battlecruiser universe, does that also mean that all assets are going to be shared with every race/caste like in your previous titles. In those games, every race had the same asset as one another and everything was shared. Because of this, the universe didn't have any real alien identity (besides from the text names). Why was there even a need to have alien races if they were not going to be recognized or modeled, why not just have the insurgents as the opposing force for the player? It would've made more sense that way. Having the personnel models and assets for every race identical, made those titles have no real sense of mixture in this regard. Every time I would see two similar ships, of separate races, fighting against one another I always felt that it was a bit unusual. One would expect an alien race to have alien like technologies and appearances, Terrain and Gammulan would not be the same. It makes the universe more exotic to have Alien diversity and I think BC universe really suffered without it throughout these years. So I'm wondering, will this area be changed for these future titles? Will there be specific alien asset groups, or will things stay anonymous and blank as usual? ...I feel this is something that badly needs to be addressed. No it doesn't. And its not going to be. Oh man! damn... You could at least have different textures for each model/asset in the game to seperate the races from one another!? Is this just something hard to do in general sir? Wow, Kinghtblade is going to be on Xbox!!?! I don?t use my Xbox much... But I will now!!! Sweet!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..... Is Knightblade the first actual story based game Derek has done??? I dont know much about his pre-3000ad life... Knightblade sounds like it has a well structured story to it... I hope it does well!!
  22. Wow! this is great, great news!!! You should have kept it to only one or a few available assets ages ago SC. Who knows, we may have had first person ship exploration by this time. It's great about these new 300ad titles too!! Hmmmm... one MAIN concern though Mr. Smart. 23. Perhaps itÔÇÖs some sort of legal resolution to the dreamcatcher non sense. Maybe it'll be news on that front...? That would be my guess.
  24. Well, you could always sell drugs to...Wait a second, we're talking about Battlecruiser. Nevermind...
