  1. Well, I spent a few bucks and upgraded my system to a Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ system. Thought I would be smart and update ALL the drivers. All of sudden I am getting the message from UC that my card does not support vertex shaders. (I did not upgrade my video card, limited budget) Well it worked before.

So I have read this thread, and here I am. I have a Nvidia GeForce MX 420, and my game hates me.

  2. Two Reasons Why It's So Hard To Solve A Redneck Murder

    1. All the DNA is the same.

    2. There are no dental records.

A blonde calls Delta Airlines and asks Kerry,

"Can you tell me how long it'll take to fly from San Francisco to New York City?"

    Kerry replies, "Just a minute..."

"Thank you," the blonde says, and hangs up.

Two Mexican detectives were investigating the murder of Juan Gonzalez.

"How was he killed?" asked one detective.

"With a golf gun," the other detective replied.

"A golf gun?! What is a golf gun?"

"I don't know. But it sure made a hole in Juan."

The investigation of Martha Stewart continues. Her recipe for chicken casserole is quite efficient. First you boil the chicken in water.

And then you dump the stock.

This guy has been sitting in a bar all night, staring at a blonde wearing the tightest pants he's ever seen. Finally his curiosity gets the best of him, so he walks over and asks, "How do you get into those pants?"

The young woman looks him over and replies, "Well, you could start by buying me a drink."

Moe: "My wife got me to believe in religion."

    Joe: "Really?"

Moe: "Yeah. Until I married her I didn't believe in hell."

A man is recovering from circumcision surgery when a nurse asks him how he is feeling.

"I'm O.K. but I didn't like the four-letter-word the doctor used in surgery," he answered.

"What did he say," asked the nurse.

    "OOPS!"

While shopping for vacation clothes, my husband and I passed a display of bathing suits. It had been at least ten years and twenty pounds since I had even considered buying a bathing suit, so I sought my husband's advice.

"What do you think?" I asked. "Should I get a bikini or an all-in-one?"

"Better get a bikini," he replied. "You'd never get it all in one."

Grandpa was driving with his 9 year old granddaughter and beeped the horn by mistake. She turned and looked at him for an explanation.

He said, "I did that by accident."

She replied, "I know that, Grandpa."

He replied, "How did you know?"

She said, "Because you didn't say "a$$hole!" afterwards

  3. A young guy from Missouri moves to Florida and goes to a big "everything

under the roof department store" looking for a job.

The manager says " Do you have any sales experience?"

The kid says " Yeah, I was a salesman back home in Missouri."

Well, the boss liked the kid so he gave him the job. "You start

tomorrow, I"ll come down after we close and see how you did."

His first day on the job was rough but he got through it.

After the store was locked up, the boss came down, "How many sales did

    you make today?"

    The kid says "one."

The boss says, "just one?!! Our sales people average 20 to 30 sales a

day! How much was the sale for?

    The kid says " $101,237.64"

The boss says, "$101,237.64? WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SELL?"

Kid says, " First I sold him a small fish hook,

Then I sold him a medium fish hook,

Then I sold him a larger fish hook,

Then I sold him a new fishing rod,

Then I asked him where he was going fishing and he said down at the

coast, so I told him he was gonna need a boat, so we went down to the

boat department and I sold him that twin engine Chris Craft.

Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took

him down to the automotive department and sold him that 4x4 Expedition."

The boss said, " A guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him

    a BOAT AND A TRUCK??"

The kid says, " No, he came in here to buy a box of tampons for his wife

and I said, well, your weekend's shot, you might as well go fishing!!!"

  4. Japanese Saparo. It used to cost 700 yen off the tap. That was the cheap bar. Also the first time I had shrimp on a pizza.

I haven't seen it at home, so I stick with Rollin Rock, Heinikin, and Samual Adams.

There was a beer (not Guinness) in Scotland but I got so drunk there, I can hardly remember. It was good beer though.

One thingabout beer though, you get what you pay for. Cheap beer=bad beer

  5. The Russian I1-28 Beagle jet powered medium tactical bomber had a tail gunner. This plane is a Post-WWII design, but was produced in large amounts during the Cold War. It was finally retired from the Russian Air-force and Navy in the eighties.

Tail gunners were essential during WWII due to the fact that fighters did not have the range of the bombers. Bombers would only have escorts for a limited amount of time, and then would have to fend for themselves in deep enemy territory. Covering you six, as well as every other possible line was necessary.

In our modern warfare, the role of the large bombers have greatly diminished. We now have tactical long/medium/short range super-sonic bombers that can carry a nuclear payloads. One bomb can finish the job.

But we are also in the age of electronic warfare were we can jam enemy radar (missiles too), and counter measures for the heat seekers.

As far as covering the six, most planes have a wingman to cover him, while he is engaging targets. It is a system that has worked, and has not created a demand for rear-fired missiles.

If they did ever create those missiles, it would probably be for close range dogfights, and I would love to see the "oh sh##" face of the first victim before he ate it.

  6. I live in the boonies, and the only option for broadband is a satellite dish. That option is too expensive so I am stuck with a dial-up.

Lately, I have seen commercials for DSL-lite for $29.95 and was thinking that wasn't to far off from what my dial-up was costing. Aol now charges $23.90 and EarthLink is $21.95. This is pocket change for most people, but I am a little thrifty, and can remember when dial-up used to cost only $19.95.

I recently started looking at the low cost and even free dial-up ISP's. As far as the freebies, read the fine print. It is either ad-supported, no features, special software required, and the tech support is usually not free either. Most of the low-cost ISP's are the same way. I was thinking about using Net-zero, but it required special software, and I was not ready to give-up on newsgroups, and live one-on-one tech support is $1.95 per minute.

Well, I was starting to think that you get what you pay for. There are no quality low priced ISP's around. So one day I was goofing off and I just typed www.isp.com in my browser. And behold, I could not believe what I was reading. There is an internet service provider called ISP. Go figure.

Anyway, they provide all the services that a brand name provider does. (5 email accounts, 10 MB personal web space, unlimited usages, thousands of phone numbers, newsgroups, and free tech support) And the price tag was only $8.95. I have been using for a month and a half now, and I have not had any complaints about it.

I am not trying to sell anything, but if you are stuck with dial-up like I am then check this out for yourself.

    www.isp.com

  7. I recently bought a Palm Tungsten T from Overstock.com. I have been very happy with it, but I don't suggest using Overstock.com. It was a refurbished model, and only came with the very basic software.

The Tungsten E model is very nice and has most of the cool features for the best price.

As far as Palm vs. Sony, they both use PalmOS software. So I am not sure how diffent they would be.

  8. Upgraded to WinXP, and never looked back. I only installed it once, and have been running it for over a year now. It is by far the most stable system Microsoft has released.

My only compaliant is the long list of critical updates. I have another computer I constantly format and install different stuff such as Linux or BEOS. Win I go to re-install XP, you have to do the updates. Working with only a dial-up connection, it is a pain to get all the updates.

I wish Microsoft would distrubute thier patches on a disk as freely as AOL does thier software.

  9. I hope I dont get banned for this but about those movies

I know I voiced this concern before, but is this just an upgraded version of BCM? I have some of the forums of the new features, and the game description, but other than engine overhauls and new graphics, it seems to be the same game.

I was hoping to see some features/game play that were new to UC that was not available to BCM (besides the interface) that would convince me to purchase this game. Other than great graphics, it still looks like BCM.

The HUD also seemed to distracting. That is just my opinion. Will it have brightness or color change adjustment so it doesnt seem soummloud?

  10. quote:

They can't sustain themselves on their own economy, and since they draw exclusively from another economy, they are indebted to that economy (and thus, government) like anyone else.

The Indians roamed the lands of America thousands of years before the Eruopeans arrived. They were able to sustain themselves then. It was not until the english, spaniards, Portugese, French, Dutch, and whomever came, started making claims on land that did not belong to them, and eventually squeezed what was left of the indians into little plots of land, that they became dependent.

I don't see it as them drawing on our economy. We owe it to them. It is thier land that we live on, it was thier ancestors we killed to take it, it was thier trust we broke, it was thier heritage and culture we destroyed.

If they want to build casinos, and actually sustain themselves, build thier own economy, good for them. It is one of the smartest things I have heard. The government has no right to govern them or thier economy. Treaties do exist, and it is time that our government start abiding by them.

  11. I like the Operation Flashpoint model. Espcially when you are winded after running and you sight post is wavering when you are taking aim. Also it was easier to get a steady bead on your target when you go to prone. The sight post on the m16 reminded me of boot camp days on the rifle range. Ooh-Rah!
