  1. You write the games we've always dreamed of. How could we not support you? Damn the torpedoes! We're with you no matter what.
  2. When you shutdown the engines, your engineers throw the anchor out the back.
  3. The EB where I've got one reserved isn't answering their phone! I've called twice! This is supremely frustrating. My wife has begun teasing me incessantly about my excitment and impatience.
  4. When I was in high school, I drove my parents used Chrysler Lebaron. The thing wasn't anything to write home about, but it got me from here to there, most times without too much trouble. A bunch of us were headed from a video arcade to a movie theatre about 50 km away (this is rural BC, Abbotsford to Chilliwack for those who know the area). Anyway, it's 11pm and 4 lane highway the whole trip, and my buddies in the other car (Ford POS) decide to race me. No problem. We're doing 150+ kph down the highway with the POS out in front. I was letting him troll for cops. When we get to the offramp, he slows down, but I don't. I hit the offramp at about 80 kph, passed him, hit gravel, and locked up the brakes. I came to a stop about 8 feet past the stop sign, but there was no traffic. I took off and still beat the POS to the theatre. The funny bit is that the race destroyed both cars. The POS had red, yellow, green, and black fluid steaming on the pavement under it when we parked, and the Lebaron's engine blew 3 weeks later. Luckily, I wasn't in it at the time, so my parents couldn't punish me for destroying the car, although they suspected I was responsible. Now I've got a family car with a car seat, and I live on an island where, for the most part, fifth gear is optional. How's that for Karma?
  5. quote: 9. That any unauthorized Assassins/assassinations will be dealt with in a harsh manner; I shouldn't be surprised, but you're going to deal with competition by assassinating them? You'll have your hands full, as all of the newbies avoid joining to escape the 50% tithe... But it makes my job easier, since I know who's responsible for any assassination, don't I? I may not know your names, but I know where your stations are...
  6. I don't have ICQ on my machine any more. I found that I just never had time to chat.
  7. So it is. I stand chastised. Hugo, go and check the Prime Fleet forums. 1st Squadron has a new member who needs to be brought up to speed. Also, email Remo for passwords to the restricted areas of the Prime Fleet forums.
  8. Cmdr. Hugo Pinheiro: I hereby confirm your promotion to Squadron Commander of 1st Squadron. The GuardDogs are a fine squadron, and have a fine leader. Congratulations, Hugo. [ 11-15-2001: Message edited by: Badgerius ]
  9. No the worst moment is the moment you realize that although you said, "I've just got to save my game, I'll be down in a few minutes," several hours have gone by, and when you go downstairs, the lady of the house is going to be a bit peeved at you...
  10. I think the rule was: "If the universe is essentially the same after as before, it's ok" I'm not sure if it "officially" happened, but if it did, it is classified as an "Incident." For the sake of GALCOM, I believe this incident is more or less swept under the rug, officially. Officially, I work well with my Vesperon allies. Unofficially, I don't trust them; they killed a lot of my crew, and put the Diligence in a body shop for 8 months. Unofficially, GALCOM bought Velari station to keep an eye on them. Plus, I believe that they are allowing an Insurgence presence within their system.
  11. [RP] Let it be known. I HATE Vesperons. Before you think of joining up with the Vesperons, read a bit of history. Then decide if those underhanded SOBs are really your cup of tea: Eternal Diligence [/RP]
  12. Since using a RANDOM Device is an instant court-martial (is that for all castes, BTW?) I think that just about covers that.
  13. Has anyone figured out a speedy way to get to the rings around Hellseye? I'd like to get out and play amongst the ice boulders, but I can't seem to jump to the rings.
  14. It was a bit slow, wasn't it? Bring on the Romulans!
  15. quote:If and when that time comes, I will be sure to oblige you, because once the Orion fleet has been gutted, the rest of the Prime Fleet will run in terror. I think not. Prime is not talk. Prime does not boast. Words, at this point, would be somewhat of a waste, don't you think? If the time comes when we shall dance, then we shall dance. Until then, it is spelled "Adieu"
  16. Well, it depends on the fleet. Orion is a heavy hitter. Big, heavy combat is their game. Wraith, and ISS are more sneaky, and Intel, and special ops are more their game. Prime is right in the middle. Think of us as "The regular navy" We do whatever needs doing. Right now that's a lot of patrols on the edges of Galcom Territory, but it will include recon, ground assault, blockades, blockade running, diplomatic missions, raiding, and even cargo runs. Those are just the Galcom fleets. The Insurgents have a number of fleets as well, and there are some alien fleets starting up, most notably the Gammulans (Big, Mean, and very advanced). Each of those have their own adgendas, but you'd have to ask the fleet commanders of those fleets what you'd be doing with them. To answer your questions about ships, in Prime Fleet you'd have a choice of a cruiser (in one of our 5 wings), or a career as a marine (in the 1st Orbital Marine Battalion or the 1st Space Marine Battalion.) There is also the possibility of flying a cargo craft for the logistical section of the fleet.
  17. Who else is in Delta Wing? Come forward and be considered for Wing Leader. Jaguar, I appreciate you doing the ethical thing in stepping down. I look forward to fighting by your side AND making the individual molecules of your stormcarrier take separate vacations.
  18. Well, diplomats should be the exception, IMHO. They are neutral, by definition. They should be able to negotiate with whom ever they choose. But, if they start playing favorites, then all bets are, of course, off. Now, as I understand it, Intercorp exists to broker the services of its members. If an organization wants a trader, merc, or assasin, it approaches Intercorp, and Intercorp picks an appropriate member, puts him/her in touch with the organization, arbitrates the negotiations, and skims a bit off the top. So if this is true, if Intercorp brokers a deal with the Insurgents, for example, and the parties launch from a Galcom facility then Intercorp will be held responsible along with the offending ship. If a member of Intercorp takes a job for the Insurgents without retaining the services of Intercorp, and uses our facilities then Intercorp is not responsible, although they'll be down a member.
  19. A fleet is an organization of players. Most fleets are military in nature. Some are civilian corporations. Look here: http://www.rp.orionfleet.com/appendix/appendix.html for more information And consider Prime fleet!
  20. Who's the publisher? I thought this was an EB-Only party?
  21. Well, obviously, we'd have to actually catch you cavorting (I love that word ) with the enemy, but if we do, I think you might just find life getting a mite uncomfortable...
  22. quote: I don't have direct control over the star burst Ack! A Rogue star burst! Wraith has a Rogue star burst on its hands! Call in Orion's elite "Kill everything, whether it's moving or not" strike force!
  23. I think Spuzzum's named after a tiny little town near where we live. Beyond Hope on the way to Hell's Gate, that's where Spuzzum (population 7) was, before it burned down last year.
