Does anybody out there know how to keep the fighters 'close' when they are supposed to be escorting the CC? I went off on mission one & things were going fine until... my Escort fighters decieded to go and try to take out a star base 500000000000km away that wasn't even attacking us!!! They blowed up real good. REEEEEEll good! Are the fighter's AI levels +20 or ------20??? Anyway, does any a you city boys know how to tell these Resnig support fighter bozo's of mine to really 'Escort' when I tells 'em to escort??? Help me please!!! & Thanks for ya'll's time!! Supreme Cmdr Posted November 10, 2002 Report Share Posted November 10, 2002 Use defend. Escort means that they will engage any threat that has you targeted for attack. Since stations/bases have very long radar ranges, thats why the escort bolted. The DEFEND order is tighter than the ESCORT order and they won't necessarily (depending on AI) go out of their way to engage unless you are actually being attacked.
