As you can read here, the SC has granted us kind of permission to move into star station Velari, Polaris 2:

Well, Polaris is declared mixed, neutral, and in BC3K, Velari used to

be mul/tra. Now, in BC:M, you have set it to ter/mil.

That is correct

Now they think, because of this, Velari is GALCOM, and want to move

in. I denied that request until further notice.

I figured sooner or later someone would want to move in

What happened to Velari? Why is it ter/mil now? Just a typo, or some

outpost of GALCOM? Or something completely different? I am confused.

If you recall from your BC3K history, that region is heavily contested

and the Vesperons and Empirians are still fighting over it.

Jump 10 yrs into the future, and the war caused the trading factions

to go bankrupt - the VES/EMP war didn't help either. So, trading there suffered.

As a result, the traders who owned it, sold it to the Terrans - who

then turned it into a military outpost. The intent? Neither the Vesperons

nor the Empirians can own it - as such, neither one has their goals for

that region, satisfied.

By making it a military outpost, the Terrans (who are still stuck in the middle

of the Vesperon/Empirian conflict) can better maintain the peace in that

region and ensure that those VES bastards don't finally find a way to link

Polaris-2 to Frellis - thereby destabilizing the region and giving the

Insurgents who have setup shop in Midae, a backdoor into Sol - ESPECIALLY -

since they already have a launch point in Sygan (a pain in ass for GALCOM).

Thats the new history, which I have yet to flesh out - but will do so sometime

soon before multiplayer is out. Pass it on.

Btw., I have attached the request, and my answer.

If you want Epsilon Wing to move in there, thats fine (RPG or not). They can

go ahead. Besides, thats how it will be in the multiplayer patch anyway. Might

as well have a wing/fleet move in.

HOWEVER, if they are going to roleplay this particular instance, they have to

stick with the history as indicated above. They can work the E Wing move into

that station, post-Terran takeover. No problem there.

My only concern is that, I don't particularly want a wing assigned to a

station, when in fact, usually, fleets (which consist of wings) are the

designated assignees to stations. See my point?

btw, fleets don't have to wait for GCO to RPG their stories in the game.

I already said that I would be setting up fleet specific servers which the

public won't have access to. I plan on doing just that. In fact, only

*active* members of registered fleets will have access to the Beta

servers (in addition to the official Beta testers of course) until the

mp patch is final and released to the public.

Okay, gentlemen. The SC assigned (read: did not explicitly deny the assignment of) Prime Fleet to Velari.

Epsilon Wing has been assigned to Velari by Prime Fleet Staff, as requested by Cmdr. Remo Williams.

One thing though - do you guys want to roleplay this, or not?

Best regards.

Concerning ISS Fleet, to be read here:

Just have some Prime (the largeest fleet) transfer some member to ISS.

By my directive, it is so ordered. How many are transfered, is up to the FCs.

Cmdr. Williams, please check our database for any commanders willing to join ISS. Make contact with Fleet Cmdr. DeSilva to ask him what kind of positions are availabe within ISS. Then anounce these positions.

Oh, the SC also ruled to remove any commanders who are AWOL or MIA from the Fleets DB, to be read here. We need a list of those gentlemen belonging to Prime Fleet. We will not cast them out (yet!), but have to remove them from the DB.

As soon as multiplayer is available, there will be a lot of new recruits, and the old ones surely will come back...

Best regard.

Sounds Good Thomas.

I'm not really into RP, so I won't be involved in the RP forum. But I will RP on the Fleet servers that The SC is providing for us. I have noticed A few of Primes members in the RP threads so more than likely they will want to.

Don't you think it would be a good idea to move two of primes wings to Velari. Since they will be so close to the Insurgent stations out there at Velari. Either Alpha or Beta Wing would be a good choice IMO since we have three wings in that secter.

I just read in the General Fleet Forums where the SC said to remove all of the AWOL and MIA Commanders from the Database. Do you want me to try to contact them once more by email, or do you want to have a role call thread and who ever doesn't reply gets canned?

Also It looks like Prime has to send some members over to ISS. Is anyone interested in changing Fleets? Now is the time if you want out of Prime to speak-up. I noticed that cmdr. De'Witt removed Prime Fleet from his sig here on the forum after he was removed from the wing leaders position of Epsilon. So I think he wants out of Prime.

Roll call thread has a temprary effect I think. If MIA/AWOL people do notice it then they might post to it. But I doubt that they'll stick around long enough. But perhaps they will now since BCM is just around the corner.

Tells you how well I keep track, but whoever is in charge of assets, I would like to change mine to an MK-3 please.

So whoever handles such things please process this request.

Thanks

Jaguar, Rm: assets changed.

At the moment, I use the following rule of thumb for Assets:

  • Fleet Staff personnel, and Wing Leaders: Battlecruiser MK3.

  • Everyone else: Battlecruiser MK2, or other asset, if asked for.

Best regards.

Does this mean that we can't select the assets? Sorry, but I can't see any reason for this.

I can understand that once you select your asset and it's in the fleet db it's there and that's it.

I think that the fleet assets should be assigned myself. When you join the navy do they let you pick your ship? Nope I done think so. A Fleet can't be comprised of nothing but slow lumbering carriers. There has to be smaller more agile support ships to protect the Fleets Carriers think about it. I myself think that each wing should have a certain number of assigned carriers. Then the rest of the wing should be made up of smaller support ships to assist the carriers. I'll work on a proposal for ship assignments Thomas and email it to you. It would be nice if everyone could cruise around in a cap ship, but thats not all Fleets are made up of IMO.

I know I'm not to question the decisions of my superiors, but why the change of (stricter) policy?

I think its because the Fleet needs to be balanced out asset wise. It will also give a Cmdr. something to look forward too as he proves his ability to command the smaller crafts. Then gets promoted to a larger cap ship as he earns it. Thats my .02 anyway.

I know I'm just a puny squadron commander, but BCM fleet-life is about more than just getting a BCmk3 or not. I'm all for balanced asset assigment. But isn't it more appropriate to talk in terms Super Carriers, Heavy Carriers, Super Cruisers, Heavy cruisers and the like?

And I was just wondering why the change of policy _now_.

BCM is almost here and MP is right around the corner. Its time to shift into high gear and get everything working smoothly. So that means doing away with errant policys that won't work with MP.

And remember it's not only fire power, tactics too smaller assets are faster, so it just might be that they might be better for leading personel

Makes no difference to me, I've took out many MK2s and MK3s with a S24 RAVEN. Remember the old saying its not the size of your ship its how you use it that counts. LOL!!

Actually, Papi, you guys are running the fleet and wings. You shouldn't even have time to worry about your own ship and crew. You guys got desk jobs.

Yeah right. Which? GCV-Sitting Duck? Or the ICV-Dummy Bunnie?

Whoa!, does that sound insubordinate or what? Ah well, not my COs.

    Desk job, my butt.

Once there's 2 squadrons, you can bet I'll be in there, coordinating them. I may not always be in the thick of combat, but I'll be out there in the Diligence, giving you your orders.

There's a desk on Genesis, and I gave it to my XO.
