Ack! No! Sorry. Cmdr. Jason Cloud (aka Papi) is the commander of 2nd squadron and one of Gamma's most active commanders. He will remain in command until he's dead or I find someone better (ok, it's a cheesy quote).

Many, Many apologies.

Ah, I see my mistake. The fleet DB doesn't list screen names. Anyone else who has been inadvertantly sent to the reserves, but has posted in the last six months, consider the transfer null. Post here to confirm it.

I'm working on a background image for our section of the site, which I will post here, for all to see, before submitting it.

Cool can't wait to see it! I would like to keep the site as uniform as possible, so maybe the other Wing Leaders will be interested in using it.

What I'd like to do is have each squadron possess at least the same type of ship. So each squadron will have assigned to it 1 carrier-class ship, and the rest super-cruiser or cruiser class. Ideally, I'd like each squadron to have a Mk1 and several Garids, but if a commander wishes to have a different class of ship, I will not stand in his way. This is only a game, after all. I am going to stand firm on the 1 carrier per squadron. Squadron commanders can take that ship for themselves, or assign it to a member of the squadron. Each squadron will act as a unit, similar in function (in theory, who knows how it'll work in-game) to a Carrier Battle Group in the US Navy. That doesn't mean you'll always be escorting the carrier, but you will act as a unit.

Sounds good to me. I'll take a warmonger or garid its up to you. I know this was discuss before, but I think we should stick with the original Wing structure that Thomas worked out. Which was eight squadrons per wing, and nine ships per squadron. Because were sure to get more recruits than we know what to do with once BCM is release. Also shouldn't we have one squadron assigned to either armed or unarmed transports. someones going to have to bring us spare parts and missiles etc. When were in combat away from any friendly space stations, or would that be the job of the Fleet Staff support squadrons?

2: I know not everybody likes doing bios, so I'll limit the information I want from you. I'd like: Cmdr's full name, ship, place of birth, and age. Optional information includes: career history, eye colour, hair colour, name's of ship officers, and...(wait for it) a pic. Anything else you want to throw in is good, as well.

Ok I'll start working on my bio ASAP.

ok, here's my rant on Badgerius and Remo:

quote:

Looks like our favoured ships are:

The Garid

The BC Mk1

Firestorm

Hold on, I'm still going to request the bcmk2 unless I come up with something better. Really love the way they sit.

quote:

Makes perfect sense.

quote:

Badgerius, I love you! But nah, can't be such a badass to keep it only for myself just because.

quote:

Each squadron will act as a unit, similar in function (in theory, who knows how it'll work in-game) to a Carrier Battle Group in the US Navy. That doesn't mean you'll always be escorting the carrier, but you

will act as a unit.

Ok, guess that means I need to dig that Harpoon naval game up again. I know it's a group of ships, but exactly why and how, no clue. Ofcourse it's very important to protect the carrier, but I don't see myself command my squad to hug around it. Have too many bad memories to craft collisions in BC3k. Besides, we'll need to cover jumppoints and the like, disperse ourselfs throughout the region, and perhaps even in the neighouring ones. "the Guarddogs never let go", passing thru is not an option. Indeed, you're right Badgerius, better wait until we know how it'll work in the game. Don't forget we need to schedule MP shakedown cruises and co-op training when the time comes.

quote:

I know not everybody likes doing bios, ...

Oh well, we had a year to get used to the idea of it. Will need to do some more daydreaming I guess, but that comes natural. Shouldn't be too impossible to come up with something.

quote:

Also shouldn't we have one squadron assigned to either armed or unarmed transports.

Very good point! I remember the ISS website has the whole fleet structure worked out of all the fleets, and Prime's said there was also supposed to exist a Prime Support fleet or something. Only the strange thing is you don't see anything anywhere on the forum about this. I think we really need people that take care of the supply side of things. I mentioned this a bit in the previous page. Can't have leaving my ship in the middle of battle cause I need certain groceries.

quote:

..., or would that be the job of the Fleet Staff support squadrons?

Don't think so, they support the staff. Independant from us I think. And I think it's more like protective support than hand-feeding them nutripacks.

Indeed!! I've been thinking about this and unless we have transports for supplies were going to be SOL. We should either have a wing that specializes in Logistics, or a squadron that takes care of the wings supplies during combat. Unforunately though not only will they have to supply the Wing, but they will have to make the credits to buy the supplies. Galcom don't give supplies away for free!

FROM: Prime Fleet Staff, Fleet Cmdr. Gudihl

TO: Gamma Wing Staff, Cmdr. Badgerius

SUBJECT: Request from Cmdr. Williams, and Cmdr. Maddox

Sev,

Cmdr. Remo Williams volunteered for a position in Fleet Staff, namely G1/G4. Would you recommend this, or are there any objections from your side?

Another question: Cmdr. Shamen (S35), your 2nd in command, is still on my KIA list. Cmdr. Maddox volunteered for this position. You decide, just let me know...

Best regards,

Joe

Although it hurts my heart to loose my only active member in the squad, but I think if it's in the good of the wing, then...

I'll let BCfreak13 off my squad and let him have his promotion

Don't worry, just wait patiently, I'd like to welcome you to 2nd squadron if Badgerius approves it.

I just lost one of my commanders as he got promoted so I'm in a need of good commanders.

It seems that almost everybody is joining insurgents nowadays because lot of vets are there, so if you stand challenge to face them from this side you're my man.

Cmdr Jason:

Welcome to Gamma Wing. You are assigned to 2nd squadron. Cmdr Cloud (aka Papi) is your Squadron Commander. He'll get you settled in, and handle ship assignments, sigs, etc. Welcome aboard!

Cmdr Demolition:

Epsilon Wing is in dire need of commanders. I can currently only offer you a position as a member of 2nd squadron. If you'd like a higher position, I'd advise sticking with Epsilon.

It seems that we posted simultaneously

[rp] O.K. Cmdr Elio Jason, I'll get you acquainted to the rutins here in Genesis, first of all your sig should look like this:

Cmdr Elio Jason

GCV Invader, GENESIS (Moon)

Prime fleet, Gamma Wing, 2nd squadron

Now we gotta check that no one who's been registered before has the ship with the same name.

And then see what kind of craft you'd prefer.

That's all for now, welcome Cmdr. [/rp]

Welcome Cmdr. Jason, cool got your sig right. Now just lose the quote and it will be perfect. Oh and if you have not registered in the Fleet database HERE then you need to.

Really I was unaware that Fleet Staff had approved any promotions.

Congrats on the new Job, Demolition, I'm sure we'll work well together.

Yes, Cmdr. Williams has left us to take a fleet staff position. Cmdr Maddox will be taking command of Genesis station as my 2nd in command.

This leaves us with 2 staff, 2 in 1st squadron, and 2 in 2nd squadron. If we lose one more cmdr, I will be forced to collapse 2nd squadron and transfer its members to the 1st.

Cmdr. Maddox: Your first assignment as station commander is to recruit us some more members. We'll be taking members into 1st and 2nd squadron on an alternating basis until they each have 6 cmdrs. At that time, I will consider opening up another staff position or starting a new squadron. If you feel it would be useful, you can use the recruiting poster I created awhile back:

recruiting poster

If you need anything else, let me know.

Also, I've got the information on the fleet web page, so we can start moving on that. Keep working on those bios!

Yeah, 200 Posts!
