ISS FLEET LOG FILES

This thread is reserved for the posting of log files from ISS Fleet members.

Each new log file should be appended to your original post, the plan being that there will be a message in this thread for each commander which contains all of his or her log files.

Log files must be submitted monthly at the least.

That is all.

*laugh* Are you on the mailing list? If not, go to www.yahoogroups.com and register with the issfleet list.

A log file is simply a message about your character's RP activities. It doesn't have to be long - a ingle sentence will do fo all of you non-writers out there. If you want to write a story, though, feel free.

An example of a log file might be...

quote:

COMMANDER RENWICK'S PERSONAL LOG

DATE: 25th December 3014

Well, Christmas day, 3014. The First Light spent most of the day aligned with the nearest sun so we could get enough energy to process the massive number of communications transmissions that were passing in and out of the ship. There must be more people on this boat with families than I thought. Trenis is sure a long way from home to be spending Christmas, though. Around 12MD Earth time, a small squadron of Insurgent fighters decided to test our defences. I boarded my Interceptor and took out a few of the boys to deal with it personally. We bloodied their noses - one eject pod, which we recovered. Another Insurgent for interrogation when we get back to Renegade. Some things never change.

Or even:

quote:

COMMANDER RENWICK'S PERSONAL LOG

DATE: 13th November 3014

Active combat today in Zelana- a coplu of Insurgent cruisers destroyed, minor damage to the First Light.

It doesn't have to be long, but the important thing is that they are posted monthly, prefereably by or on the 1st of each month. Any members who do NOT post a log file will be rendered MIA on the fleet roster.

I encourage ALL members who are taking part in an RO campaign, such as Into The Fire, to mention their activities in their log file. And add new log file entries into the same post, so that eventually this thread will contain a single post for each member. Log files can be dated any time, and they don't have to be in chronological order. Just remember that BC:M will start in the year 3015, BC3K started in the year 3000. If you're going to make historical posts, check the timeline on the website.

Im typing a message to home , to my girlfriend who is at home without me , damnit stupid mission to gam space , she is about to have a child and nothing i could say could change the minds of galcom not to send us on this mission and look at all this shit surrounding us now.

GCV MYRMIDON, ISS FLEET, FLIGHT GROUP GRYPHON

TIME: 17:04:54 05/07/10

Ship Status:

Shields: 0% (Lowered)

Hull: 100%

Condition: Green

We have been sent to Syrius System, we are currently 1500km from Lyrius and we are getting ready to make the jump to Lennen to escort a supply ship headed for Krystar, in Tau Ranis. I haven't been informed as to what the cargo is, however command gave me orders and im going to follow them. Once we reach Krystar the transport will land and unload the cargo at the base. Its probably just some stuff for the scientists there to tinker with.

That's a fantadtic start, boys!

All other fleet members, take note. It's really that simple. All I need is a post like this, once a month, from each fleet member. More often, if so desired...*grin*. That's the only membership requirement this fleet has.

Get to it! *grin*.

Personal Log:

While patrolling home space around Jupiter, received distress call from a ground based unit of all things in the Syrian sector. Have comms working on the location, signal too weak to pinpoint upfront. Signal came in on carrier frequency set aside for Intel use only. Was still trying to puzzle that one out when next message came in from Cmdr Jamont ordering us to put at earliest convenience. Expect an 8 hour delay as a replacement cruiser called up to relieve us won't arrive until then....maybe by then we will have figured out who is calling us and why..............

Personal Log:

met with commander Jamont finally. we had an additional couple of hours to kill on the way back to HQ thanks to the cruiser developing mechanical problems in flight. problems repaired. cruiser on post now. but nothing could have prepared me for the meeting!

after much screwing around with dock control, we finally made spacedock and shuttled to the surface. crew on stand down for the duration as we refit and resupply on this good opportunity.

one full day has passed since the messages from the ground unit and cmdr Jamont. as i passed through the slider to Cmdr's office, i took note of the heavy silence that echoed on the support staff gathered throughout. strange in my book, but then nothing surprises me much since the...........well, don't need to dwell even now.

cmdr Jamont saw me as soon as i was announced. once we got the formalities over with i explained to him that we had received a distress call from a ground unit, marine group, from the surface on one of Vega Eridani's planetoids. we could not pinpoint it any better than that. and it raised concerns since it was carrier reserved for intel only.

Cmdr Jamont was not only not surprised but explained that it was expected..............

"a combined squad of marine expeditionary and recon forces was sent to the planet to aid in retrieving an operative on the planet. we received a distress call from the operative that was only to be used in the direst of emergencies. we can only conclude that the situation is worse than orginally anticipated." cmdr jamont responded.

Commander Korivak's Log

5/25/01

Location: ISSHQ (Renegade)

Status: Waiting for Ship

Not much to report. Keeping sharp in the simulator, waiting for my ship, trying to stay on top of the paperwork. If GALCOM had as many ships as forms, we wouldn't have any trouble with Insurgents, Aliens, or Raiders...we would have a ship for everything, in triplicate, with a massive network for firing them back and forth across the galaxy at the speed of light. Here's to all the desk commanders: papercuts make you strong, combat makes you dead.

TIME: 10:47:23 18/08/10

Ship Status:

Shields: 68%

Hull: 43%

Condition: Red

We were patrolling around the... Lennen/Polaris-2 jump gate. They came out of no where, they must have had a cloak of some kind. We managed to fight off what seemed a small cruiser group, no more than 2 or 3 ships... No fighter escort. We have suffered heavy damage, bridge viewer is down! Nuclear reactor was heavily damaged during the fight but we managed to keep it from blowing. We're returning to Renegade station for repairs.

Personal log......

After the weird and brief meeting with cmdr Jamont, we made all haste to scramble the crew and depart immediately. OH WELL!! Refit some other time. We managed to get most of the needed supplies on board prior to the last crewmember reporting back aboard. So far the crew has only been told that we are on a rescue operation of high priority and that we must go into Syrian space to do so. There were alot of groans and moans about going into off limits space, but orders are orders!

We made all possible speed to Pluto for our first major jump. While enroute to Pluto our comms officer of the day stated that it thought it had pinpointed the signal within planet range. It appears that our wayward group is on Obsidia in Vega Eridani. THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE A PLEASANT RIDE! Once into space around Treas we not only had to fight off Gam cruisers larger than ourselves, but now we had incoming messages about cmdr Jamont's ship being beat to hell in the Gam Quadrant. We jumped to Arima to effect repairs and recheck systems. All systems took a bad pounding but not as bad as the damn Gams.....hehehe! Shuttles are out scavenging from debris fields to aid our low funds and replenish supplies while the engineers are 12 on and 12 off trying to get the repairs done.

We received a message while tied up that simply ordered us to proceed to Ramis in Omicron Eridani and continue with the extraction! It had cmdr Jamonts bona fides attached to it..........hhhhhhmmmmmmm. He may be lots of things to us underlings but deceptive to his own he is not. He agreed with our findings of Vega Eridani as the source and confirmed that he was not sure where in system the group was. Contact was lost with the Marines before finding out their position. I have a very bad feeling about this, but have ordered the crew to continue with original flight plan and disregard the communique and that i would explain more fully as i got all the facts.

COMMANDERS LOG: COMMANDER GARY RENWICK

GCV-FIRST LIGHT, ISS FLEET, FLIGHT GROUP DRAGON

TIME: 20:24:13 02/07/10

Commander's Log. Alpha shift has just assumed duty, and the bridge of the 'Light is once more busy. I've been here for the last two hours - ever since DeSylva dragged me on duty and had me scramble the ship for immediate departure.

The constant Gammulan attacks throughout the Polaris system are our main concern - or so I thought. Just last night we were jumped by two cruisers. I guess Gammulan intelligence was off the mark - two cruisers against a Megaron was almost unfair. We didn't even need to scramble the fighters, the PTA turrets just sliced them up. However, it seems DeSylva has some other agenda. Something to do with Fleet. All we need at a time of crisis like this is some kind of ridiculous fleet sidebar. Especially since the news of the GCV-Svoboda filtered in.

Whatever mission the spooks had her on, she was in over her head. The Svoboda is missing in action behind Gammulan lines, and contact has been lost with Commander Zwycky. I know DeSylva's more worried about this than he lets on - I know he and Zwycky were close before he returned to the ISS.

I have completed briefing Commander Tringad, who will take over Polaris C&C for the ISS Fleet. A coy of my briefing has been uploaded to the ship's computers and is tagged to this log file. Laser and Boarhog are on their way back in FC1, after a standard patrol to clear the way for our jump back into Earth space. As soon as they're on board and locked down, we're ready to jump.

Renwick out.

personal log:

the crew has gotten extremely edgy about the disobeying of direct orders from command. if i didn't know them better i would swear they were ready to mutiny. as it is we are only just now crossing into syrian space.

we didn't scavenge as much as we would have liked from our short battles coming into Arima. we were able to complete all repairs and the ship shows green across the board, however we are having to run on emcon4 continually since Arima just to stand a chance. too many insurgents/gams and assorted other nasties to count and we can't afford at this time to waste cloaking until we reach space around Obsidia.

i think the crew is more frazzled right now from the silent running than anything, but i have to find a way to tell them we have a shadow. as we crossed into syrian space, my tac officer and my communications officer both spotted irregularities in the space around us. they both stated noting the problem after we left Arima space but thought there were bugs in the gear acting up since the last battle. but now they were sure of the shadow behind us. i have them working on combining their equipment measurements to try and get better readings on our tail and try to get them in the open where we can deal with them. i won't launch fighters until we know what we are up against. we just don't have time, money or other resources to replace lost craft and pilots right now.

the comm officer also tells me that she is pretty sure that the communications from cmdr Jamont, continually trying to order us to a different system are coming from our tail. she suspects they are doing one damn fine job of reflecting transmissions off of moons, planets etc. to keep their identity and location hidden. we have had no further word on cmdr Jamonts situation since Arima. after 2 weeks of ducking and running we hope to soon have some answers.

log ends.

COMMANDERS LOG: JEROLD KEENAN

GCV MYRMIDON, ISS FLEET, CIOPS

TIME: 17:03:19 05/11/10

Ship Status:

Shields: 78%

We were investigating the possibility that the Insurgents were receiving munitions from smugglers in the Sygnan system. While cloaked we intercepted a large convoy of about 6 LRT-15 and 2 Jenstar. We destroyed 5 of the LRT's but the convoy's escort was too large to do any more by ourselves. I'm sending a transmission to Renegade station for some back-up.

COMMANDERS LOG: JEROLD KEENAN

GCV MYRMIDON, ISS FLEET, CIOPS

TIME: 07:44:00 28/11/10

Ship Status:

Shields: 0% (Disabled)

Hull: 57%

Condition: Yellow

Jerold Keenan: Twelve minutes ago our ship picked up the transmission from what appears to be a SOS beacon of some sort. The technology is unfamiliar to my Research officer... and doesn't match anything currently in the Galcom database.

Jerold Keenan: Lieutenant Commander West, please lock a tractor beam onto the object.

Timothy West: Yes, sir.

(Alarm sounds)

Timothy West: Ah, sir... The device is overloading our emitters. Its reflecting the beam back at us!

Jerold Keenan: Disengage the beam commander!

Timothy West: Yes sir!

(Timothy West frantically presses buttons on his console, but the tractor beam doesn't stop, suddenly there is an explosion and Lieutenant Commander Timothy West is flung from his console)

Jerold Keenan: Medics to the bridge!

Jerold Keenan: Report!

Jessica Henry: Sir, the tractor beam has malfuctioned. All emitters are destroyed, repair teams are on their way to the damaged sections of the ship.

(On the bridge viewer the beacon begins moving closer and closer towards the ship)

Charles Henry: Sir, the beacon his coming towards us!

Jerold Keenan: Open fire! Repeat all PTA's OPEN FIRE!

(The PTA Turrets began firing beams of light towards the beacon, but the energy was absorbed by some kind of shield surrounding the device)

Charles Henry: Sir its having no effect!

Jerold Keenan: This is the Commander to all hands, BRACE FOR IMPACT!

(The beacon continued to move closer to the ship. The Myrmidons shields dropped and the beacon slammed into the ships hull. Explosions could be heard throughout the ship and Jerold Keenan was flung from his chair. Keenan stands up)

Jerold Keenan: Status?

Jessica Henry: Heavy damage all across the ship, 18 comfirmed dead, 4 wounded. Weapons offline, engines offline, bridgeviewer offline. Communications still available. The beacon has attached itself to our hull.

Jerold Keenan: Send a transmission to Renegade station! We're seriously damaged and are in need of support!

EFPS LOG: Nathan Shaddox

Interceptor Mk. 2, 41st EFS, ISS Fleet

TIME: 07:47:34 28/11/10

Ship Status:

Shields: 0% (Disabled)

Hull: 100%

Condition: Green

Nathan Shaddox: Gamma lance, power-up weapons and form on my wing.

Shaddox's small interceptor shot out of the battlecruisers hanger, it followed the surface of the battlecruiser until it reached the location where the alien beacon had attached itself to GCV-Myrmidon.

Gamma 04: Sir, my shields aren't activating! Theres... theres some kind of dispersion field being generated by the beacon. Most of my systems have gone haywire.

Three fighters closed the distance between the hanger and Shaddox's ship, once they formed on his wing Shaddox gave the order to cut power to the engines and float.

Nathan Shaddox: Target the beacon if your able and bring your weapons to bear. The Commander wants us to shoot this thing straight to hell!

Shaddox modified the settings on his power distribution system and set all the ships power into the weapons.

Nathan Shaddox: FIRE!

Bursts of white-gold bolts of energy erupted from the weapons on the interceptors. Every bolt was absorbed by the egg shapped shield surrounding the alien beacon.

Gamma 02: Damn it! The shields don't seem to be affected. Lets try missiles.

Jerold Keenan's voice was transmitted through the receivers in the pilots helmets.

Jerold Keenan: Careful! Try not to do anymore damage to the ship, we're already crippled... one stray shot could blow the ship.

Nathan Shaddox: Acknowledged, sir!

Nathan Shaddox's interceptor launched a missile, the missiles small engines propelled the missile amazingly fast and seconds after it was fired the weapon impacted the alien shield.

Gamma 04: Sir, i'm reading a 4% loss in the shields integrity. It worked.

Nathan Shaddox: Gamma lance, fire at will!

A dozen more missiles launched from the interceptors, the alien shields glowed a blood red instead of its regular blue colour. Suddenly the clamps which attached the beacon to the Myrmidon released themselves and the beacons thrusters moved it away from the ship.

Nathan Shaddox: Commander Keenan, Sir, the beacon is moving away from the ship.

Jerold Keenan: Good Ensign, however the beacon has downloaded all information in the ships computer... including all classified files. It must be destroyed immediently!

Just as Keenan finished his sentence a swirling vortex appeared a short distance from the Myrmidon. The small beacon dove into the portal, and the huge vortex began to close.

Nathan Shaddox: Sir, the beacon its gone into some kind of Hyperjump portal... requesting orders!

Jerold Keenan: Keep sending us data on the portal, we may be able to duplicate it and follow the beacon once we get the ship back to working order.

Nathan Shaddox: Understood, sir!

Jerold Keenan on the bridge of the Myrmidon turned his attention to the communicaitons officer.

Jerold Keenan: Open a channel with Renegade station... requesting additional support ASAP!

GCV MYRMIDON, ISS FLEET, CIOPS

TIME: 08:37:13 28/11/10

Ship Status:

Shields: 100%

Hull: 57%

Condition: Yellow

Jerold Keenan sits down in his chair and turns his display console to face him. He looks at the damage report quickly then turns his attention to Chief Engineer Jessica Henry.

"Lt commander, we need the bridgeviewer up as soon as possible. I don't want to be caught blind out here!" Jessica turns his way and replies

"I'll assign more Engineer's to repair it, commander." She returns to work on her console assigning more engineers to fix the bridgeviewer.

Moments later Ensign Loren Anderson the communications officer receives a transmission from Commander Jamont, wing leader for the Intelligence & Espionage.

"Sir, receiving a transmission from Commander Jamont's ship!" All of the commander's attention shifts to the young ensign.

"Finally, a reply. Put it through to my console, ensign." Ensign Anderson instructs her console to upload the message to the commanders.

"Done, sir." She returns to monitoring transmissions being sent by Nathan Shaddox's Gamma lance defending the Myrmidon.

Jerold Keenan accesses the message sent by Jamont's ship and engages the decrypting program. After several seconds the message starts.

"Distress call received 08:14, message relayed to Renegade station. GCV-Prophecy IV's ETA at your is 09:34. End of Transmission." The Prophecy's comm officer's voice stops speaking and the message rewinds to the beginning.

"Lt Commander Henry, how long until the engines are online?" Asks Commander Keenan. Jessica Henry checks her console to find the estimated time of completion set by her engineers.

"The engines and hyperspace drive should be fully operational by that time sir."

"Good. Well people, lets get cracking. We have an alien artifact to find and destroy!"
