Cmdr. Logan
TV is cool and all, but the physics in BC3k (not sure how they stand in BC:M) are tricky to get used to and you can find yourself overshooting your target very fast if you get a little happy with the a/b If people take a little time to check out some Air Combat Manouver websites/books, I think it will help out alot. Also, people who will be flying fighters will need to know where they should be in a wing of fighters flying formation, so they should have a number. When BC:M comes out, I'd be happy to host some formation flying sessions. Who knows, anyone in Wraith fancy a aerobatics team?Tell me if I'm going off on one ------------------ Commander Logan ------------------------- GCV Crazy Horse *2nd Squadron, Corsair Wing Stationed: Starbase Cerberus "When the going gets weird, the weird get professional" ICQ:(10763330) ZULU TIME -=+Wraith Fleet+=-
Whisper
Well, we pilots in BC crafts have an advantage to our air-born associates. Hyperjump drives make it quick and simple to almost instanly form a tight, organized formation.[rp] ALERT: Rembemer the Insurrgent Lesson! Never disscus tarics etc. in an open forum! If you want to get togehter and form a "barnstormer" flight or two, that's great! Just don't make a habit of saying things any ol' dumkoff wouldn't know. Wait! Why am I telling you this? All you folks have plenty of common sense, and of course know that only morons would go around and blab thier stratagies! J.Smith
If you want practice with formation flying get a good flight sim with multiplayer support. The two I recomend would be USNF'97 and USAF. I have USNF'97.------------------ Commander J.Smith GCV-ROSETTA *3rd squadron, Marauder Wing Stationed, Starbase Fenrir ICQ#67121847 EST "choose your allies wisely, for they may turn against you." =WRAITH FLEET=
Cmdr. Logan
I'd have to agree, for the time being it will have to be a flight-sim used for training as nothing else is hard enough Commander Logan ---------------- GCV Crazy Horse *2nd Squadron, Corsair Wing Stationed: Starbase Cerberus "When the going gets-| weird, the weird get professional" ICQ 10763330) ZULU TIME -==+Wraith Fleet+==-[This message has been edited by Cmdr. Akira
Hehe, Whisper you crack me up all the time: quote:Hyperjump drives make it quick and simple to almost instanly form a tight, organized formation. You do that and I'll sit back and laugh even harder as you all exit on top of each other. Formation flying is an art unto itself and between RL players requires a large amount of coordination. Be sure and let me know when you're about to start. I'll just pick you off during the confusion As for tactics, don't worry about giving away the farm. There is nothing that you will do that will be effective past the first time. Humans are better than most AI/NPC's. They learn (usually ) from mistakes and can easily copy what they see!YOu guys keep practicing that formation flying, though. It'll make it easier for everyone else to line you up for strafing runs ------------------ Flt. Cmdr. Cmdr Hidama
There should be different formations for air and different ones for space (differences in combat environment due simply to land and atmospheric drag) and the mark of a perfect strategy is one that the enemy can NEVER know. Adaptable plans/formations/strategies that can change with each occurance, keep the enemy on their toes. Sure, it'd mean many times the training and practice, but it would lead to an undefeatable squadron in the end. Always try to make a strategy flexible. Just something to think about. ------------------ Commander Hidama Hasaki GCV Kurai ICQ # 28215391 (GMT -5)
Gallion
True. However, the best laid formations/plans will only last until first contact with hostile forces. Then it will turn into a slug/frag-fest.My four-bits minus two TTFN------------------ Commander Gallion GCV Graf Spee *1st Squadron, *Corsair Wing Stationed, *Starbase Cerberus "Run Silent, Run Deep" ICQ# 29486270, EST (GMT-5) =Wraith Fleet= Second in Command, Wraith Fleet Bushi of the Dragon Council

Cmdr Hidama
Yes, but if you remain organized, from wherever you are, you will still remain victorious. Cmdr Gallion. Whisper
Sounds great, Hidama. You will be assigned a flight within the week. WarSong: I haven't put you on the roster yet, and I am sorry. This will be done shortly. To all: I plan an re-assgining people into different flights when BCM comes out, so dedicated pilots and dedicated commanders will be in different units (easier to organzie and such), so what is on the roster right now is just temporary.------------------ Commander David "Whisper" Liev *Fighter Commander Sationed, Wraith HQ "The underestimated weapon will deal overestimated havoc."
