I looked in the online manual and found the info about the artifacts. In the manual I found info on what upgrades there are for shields, armour, where can I find info on the engine upgrades and whatever else can be upgraded. Also what kind of cargo do you need on CC. I know you need food, medpacks, combat packs, but what about armour for troops, what kind of armour. Anyone has this info, or a website link that contains this info. Thanks.

Yeah, I did, that's where I got the info on artifacts. Have a question about the online appendix too. I wanted to print out all the different types of ships, but the page is too wide to fit and all I get from the printer is the left half of the screen, how can I make it so that the ships section in the online manual fits the screen and my printer.

I just checked and it seems like I forgot to send Gallion the upgrades data for the appendix. I have now sent it to him and I will add the new files in the final 1.0.01 patch.

Here is the data from the upgrades.html file

quote:

The engine, reactor, shields, and armor on the Command Craft can be upgraded.

The upgrade path will vary depending on the ship. For e.g upgrades for a carrier

may not be available for a transport.

An upgraded system results in better performance and in the case of shields and

armor, higher protection.

Most upgrades can be performed on-board by your own on-board engineers or engineers

at starstations or starbases.

If your upgraded system is damaged or destroyed, depending on its damaged components,

you may only be able to replace it by first downgrading to a lesser component and then

trying to upgrade it.

Artifacts cannot be repaired.

Try portrait print then.

I simply don't know what the fuss is about. I loaded the file in my browser, hit the print preview, saw what it looked like. Printed it.

Well I just printed it and it only printed the left half of the screen, because the screen was too wide. O well, thanks for the help. I'll figure it out one of these days. I've never wasted so much time trying to print something, so this is definitely a testiment to how enthralled I am by this fantastic, epic game that you created Mr. Smart. Thanks for making it!

Urza dons his n00b protection suit and prepares to answer the question

Are you sure you're in FP on foot? And not in a tank or something? Try pressing the number keys (over QUERTY; not numpad).

I got a question. How do you know when your mission is truly over, because I did the first mission (escorting the diplomats or whatever) and it said mission completed +250 exp points. I then decided to mine some minerals and whatnot and a little later it said one of the diplomats was destroyed and I lost the 250 exp. Maybe I just need to pay more attention to my Commlink, but it is really unclear what to in a mission to me. Like, for the diplomat one, I just saw on the Commlink that Diplomat 1 was launching from Galcom or whatever, so I decided to follow him just for kicks. I followed him to Majoris, and then all the stuff I said happened. Also, there were like 8 or so diplomats and they were all going to different places, and I have no idea where they were and where they were going, and a couple of em got destroyed and I lost all the exp I got, and it was just really frustrating.

In other words, is there some way to get detailed info on what the heck is going on? Basically all Commlink tells you (at least what I caught) is like when they are leaving/arriving at starstations etc.

This is probably all I needed to say in this message but.. how the hell do you use Miscon. I go into it and it has this message like welcome to Galcom blah blah. I tried just randomly clicking around and it closed the message and it had three messages. One was like 'THE FUTURE IS NOW, REDUX' or something, another was 'REDEMPTION' and I can't remember what the other one was. When i clicked on one of those (which weren't highlighted. The one I can't remember was highlighted) it just broguht the welcome to Galcom blah blah message up. Maybe I'm just stupid, maybe my game is bugged, but Miscon is extremely confusing for me. Please help me with it.

(Wow that message turned out a hell of alot longer than I planned for...)

You need to access your CommLink computer (alt-C or select systems -> CommLink)to read all important info about your mission.

From there you'll find the mission directives, and what's the trigger to succesfully complete your mission.

MisCon tells you info about the game you are playing, roam or ACM.

And remember that in CVD there's ACM status displayed where you can read the mission time running.

Once in Commlink, make sure you scroll fully forward and back. You'll find very detailed orders about what to do with the diplomats and who specifically to look out for. Often you will be told to stand by for further orders once a specific task is completed. That is, the scenario (I've barely started it) will go on and on for a bit.

Ive a question for you guys who have been playing the beta longer than any of the rest of us.

Now Im not new to BC (got all 3 versions here at home right back from the start) but I am stuck on a problem with BCM. Could some one PLEASE give me a tip on how to deploy marines on the planet with a shuttle (using TACOPS) with out killing them all!! And yes, Ive read the manual about it, but for some reason, they always die (height deployment problem???). Ive tried diffrent combos of waypoints to see if that works, even spent time looking at the height of the terain to see if the height at the way point incase thatw as the problem. Any ideas?? Ive got to be missing something simple here. Been over the manual again and again (pages 30-33), but still cant figure this one out. Also tried selecting diffrent types of marines after looking at the VCF.

I also have another question, which I was tempted to put in the tech support, but I figured I would ask here first just incase this isnt really a design issue.

If your marines are transported to a planet, and they have more than one weapon, should they swap weapons when one of them has run out of ammo?? (fires rocket launcher untill empty, then just sits there although he has a ZS10 rifle too!)

TIP: Make sure that the first person you put in the shuttle, has a very high AI.

And he doesn't have to be a marine either.

Also, try giving them practice runs on a planet with ultra flat terrain. e.g. Earth's moon
