old guy Posted October 31, 2003 Report Share Posted October 31, 2003 I just installed BCMG on an XP AMD1.11G, 512MEM, Radeon 7200, SB Live, ASUS KV7, 80G Maxtor 72% free. When I launch BCMG, the splash screen appears and then I get the following error: Protection Error Debugger detected Win NT users: Please note that having the WinIce/SoftIce service installed means that you are running a debugger. Sounds to me like you may have some "spyware" or perhaps another service is running on XP that looks like (or is) a debugger. This is not something "you did", but rather some program running on your machine. First, turn off all of your background process programs (like virus checkers etc...) then go to this tweak page , it's not for the faint of heart, but it may help you resolve the issue.
