As for why I used WMM, had I not used it, I would have had to go through hoops (with VDub plugins) to put in the movie titles. In WMM its a snap to do.

oh yeah! I neglected that part .

but anyway, just to reiterate, if you need my help for anything with vids, for a trailer, muisc video, whatever, I'm there (for free! lol).

Watched the vids: the game looks great, i think the extra time has been well well worth the wait.

Movies were great SC! The music was awesome as well, and had that classic BC feel to them. Wonderful!

very good movies SC.

a few questions though:

your ship(GCV-Warmonger) didn't look like any ship i'd seen before except sometihng like the BC MK1. is that a new ship?

i haven't seen any MK2 screenshots or anything yet.

and where is Vanethian? major props to him!

NIIIICE! The graphics looks extremly improved. How will fighter movement be like is it simelar to WC or more like Elite 2 or something in between. Havent played BC for a while my 2.0V is collecting dust in a shelf somewhere. Definatly gonna buy this one when it comes out.

Im very impressed by the WMV format didnt think it was this good. gonna do some experimenting with it.

It was my wifes Birthday today, so just got home and downloaded the movies.

Excellent SC, and the poor Insurgents took a beating, BADLY!!!

But hey, less of them for us Gammulans to deal with!! LOL

Those look really good SC, I am looking forward to the rest of them as you release them.

And the music was superb, just as in BCM.

I like it, I like it a lot!!

Nice work DC? Are you out of your mind? DC had NOTHING to do with ANY of this. They didn't even know about it until I had uploaded the movies and told them about it.

As far as I'm concerned, they're not marketing the game (despite my having to extend my development because of this BCG to UC crap). Instead, they're busy marketing - yet another - "me too" shooter, Painkiller; which, incidentally, has slipped to next year. So, I've taken upon myself to resume marketing and promoting my game.

ps: I see you've re-registered another alias after the previous one was banned. Please try to behave. Assuming of course you're the same person whose "marine" alias was banned last week. I don't have time to check the IPs.

Yeah, Vanethian did a great job. Believe me, it wasn't easy matching the style I wanted - especially after Raven Audio's style in BCM/G; but Manuel did a truly kick-ass job. Then again, this should be no surprise, since I only hire professionals who know wtf they're doing.

Well, after about a month of haggling with my ISP for my new broadband service, I finally got it. Talk about World Wide Wow!! Now I see what I've been missing... anyhow what better way to put it to use than d/l UC movies.

Derek, where on earth did you get Vanethian from?!!

This music sounds like the soundtrack that Paramount wished they used on the latest space movie or the score which Warners Bros people just couldn't conjure up for their latest sci-fi flick!!

In the 2nd/3rd parts, that sounded 'old skool' BCM! (the tried and trusted stuff, always works!) and in the other parts, well, that was just awesome! Really inspiring stuff... reviewers will love it, I'm sure.

All FX were super. The ships/fighters looked so good and detailed, I wished there was a movie-styled, fly-by camera view for 'em to suit the music!

Just wondering, will there be any volumetric gaseous nebulae to fly through this time or shall we just wait and see?

Man, I’m dumfounded.

I’m anxious to see the ground movies so bad now!
Speaking of which, when will that be?

heh, Italy

The guy is infectiously enthusiastic like you wouldn't *believe*. Its his first game project and man, did he do a kick-ass job. heh, you haven't heard *anything* and most of those tracks were cut short due to the movie length, but he did 14 tracks for the game, in addition to remastering my entire digital sound library, created a slew of all new fp weapon sounds etc etc. I swear, the first time you hear an SP911 being fired, you'll jump. No seriously, you will.

And no, he wasn't cheap either

Sadly, thats one of the items that got cut from the game due to time constraints. I cut several things actually due to the added time required for this whole BCG to UC switch farce. But when you see the new features in action (e.g. the VTT radar mode, the TOM (Team Orders Menu which can be used in fp mode to send orders to troops, Rainbow6 style, the Priority List Viewer, PLV etc etc), you'll just, well, die. I will be featuring these in the ground combat movies I'm doing.

Hello!!! you said Vanethian??? PUFF! Here i am in a smoke and lightning effect

Thank you, Derek!!! Thank you very much for your words!!!

I suggest all of you guys to don't pump the volume too much as soon as you'll start the game or you'll risk to make your building crumble to dust!!! (is correct english grammar? oh well ).

It would be cool to buy an HIFI SYSTEM only for this great game... UC deserves it!!! And if you know a guy who annoys you and you hate him and he lives next to you... what about putting a sub woofer aside his window, at late night, and ... hey, using that fabulous SP911, clicking like a mad??? hehehehe

Universal Combat - good to play, good to use it against jerks!

Congrats to you Vanethian. The music tracks really do rock!

As great as the visuals are, the music really shines as evident from these movies.

Can't wait to get the game. SC, is it cool for us to burn the mp3s to a disc for personal listening?

As far as a "top man" is concerned, I have just been here a REALLY long time...LOL

And I would love to go to Italy again someday, but sadly the wallet is rather constrained right now, but you never know what the future will bring, but I'll come right now if you'll spring for the tickets, 1st class of course!! LOL

Wow Vanethian, the music is terrific! Damn, wish I had the money to go to Rome or Sicily, I'd love to come over for a party. Just think if everyone here on the forum could come over for a kick ass UC party! What a party that would be!
