Graphics Problem?

Just started playing the game and I noticed in Roam mode the planet earth looks like a blue granular ball. No Continents or clouds, oceans seen from space. The rest of the graphics are spectacular. My Specs:

Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ 533FSB Asus P4T533-C Motherboard

DirectX 9b

Windows XP PRO with latest updates

512MB RAMBUS memory

Asus FX 5900 Ultra 256 DDR RAM

Nvidia 53.03 drivers

I have everything on in config. all textures at 32. Any idea what's wrong with my setup?

Nothing is wrong.

GalcomHQ happens to be in orbit over the south Pacific. Fly around to the other side of the planet to see the continents, or fly away and look back.

I think Galcom is secretly siphoning off all the earth's water.

Planet rendering is definitely not UC's strongest point, at least when compared against the beauty of Orbiter (www.orbitersim.com) which uses extremely high-res textures that really make use of that 128Meg gfx card you probably don't have

Then again, I really didn't buy UC because of the graphics. And Orbiter really is a space flight simulation (albeit a free one), not a game.
