Darkken Nightshade
I have been messing around with the naval group mission zones in both friendly and hostile races to mine. I have some questions: 1: When I complete planet fall and enter the zone of the naval group, I hear what sounds like large explosions off in the distance. About 2-3 SFX. I have tried to target and switch over to the naval group to see what is going on. Sometimes I see a gunship floating off and slowly sinking. Is there something going on that I am not quick enough to catch? 2: I seem to be able to fly right upto an enmeny group and they don't defend themselves. 3: Why are there all those spaceships floating in the water under the carrier? 4: Is there a way to tow one of these ships? Not the aircraft, I have already done that. Anyway, I'm hoping to gain some shared experiences as well in this thread related to naval mission zones. Supreme Cmdr
You are probably hearing collision based explosionsThe same reason why SAM/SAL units have it disabledThey fell off the carrier because they probably collided with each other. This is the same support structure issue already logged in the VCFNo. Their tow flag is disabled
Darkken Nightshade
SC thanks! I honestly wasn't expecting you to take anytime out to answer these trivial questions, looks like I missed something in question 2/3 that I should have known already, I'll go thru the VCF and other docs again. Pretty please let me tow a carrier I promise to only take it to the desert and take a picture! BTW: Something really strange happened today. I set my carrier in VTOL mode at about 2000+ feet over the naval group. I sent my AE to the shuttle 1, and then I launched SC1. As soon as SC1 was in the air, the CC hit the water nose first. So I guess there was something I was supposed to do before I launched? See bonehead pic http://home.comcast.net/~s.beaudrot/bonehead.jpg Then the CC shifted in the water and basically collided with the carrier and knocked it high in the air. Then the carrier "righted" itself and pushed my CC deeper into the sea. I had landed my shuttle on a near by ship, got out and watched the spectacle. Man, while sad, it was kinda cool. I guess I should have been a Red Star Line captain http://home.comcast.net/~s.beaudrot/Carriertoss1.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~s.beaudrot/Carriertoss2.jpg Anyway, all this sillyness is just that, but it is what I enjoy about the open-ended aspect of the game, that you can go out there and mess-around, and then other times kick intersteller butt! Regards!

As always, try giving your command craft the order to Halt (after you've set it level via NumPad 5)... then turn on the autopilot.
