Banquet
The quick save will be blinkin marvellous.. thank you! The designate target addition will be great too. I gotta get into the habit of using DIE instead of TACOPS.
Supreme Cmdr
Yeah, DIE is fairly easy to use. As long as you're not getting shot at.
Darkken Nightshade
Feel free to move this post somewhere else, but I thought I would ask (since the escorts in roam elite pilot are a recently new elementsince RC4)...so here it goes: Would it be possible to have your 4 escorts to be listed as a Support Craft, that way they would be easily filtered on the radar screen? Would help game play (mine at least anyway) and easier to select them for assigning orders. My RC6 comment is: Awesome Updates!
Guest Shingen
You can delete this post if you want, as I don't know if it pertains directly to the RC6 build. There seems to be an ai tow issue going on. I've watched ai paramedics with tow orders next to disabled craft, motionless, with contrails firing, never actually capturing the ships. If I send my shuttle to capture a disabled or enemy ship, the shuttle will hyperjump normally, then sit there for extended periods. The shuttle will not capture the ai ship. If I send my shuttle to tow a support craft, everything works normally. ( I should add here, that I NEVER assign a marine under 15 ai to a shuttle. )
Cougar_DK
I have never seen this before but after the RC6 its like my numeric key 2 is pressed all the time. The problem was not there in RC5. This means that the craft I control keep doing loops even though I touched the keyboard, I normaly control my craft by the mouse setting. I guess Low AI Marines think in 2D Terms and don't think enough to say "Hey I need to point the ship UP to get to it. So it just sits there hovering below it. Usually what you need to do, is send the shuttle craft away from the area and then set it to go back and tow, this usually works for me. Though, sometimes, I'll just hop in the shuttle and do it myself. BTW, I seem to have the problem much less with Higher AI Marines.

Cougar_DK
Yes sure Darkling... but it seems that its only UC rc 6 and no other application like this forum. I guess all my posts would be a lot of 22222222 then... I just tried to re-install rc5 and that removes the problem.

If you actually learned how to use the TOM and the PLV, you won't have to worry about this. To the rest of the posts, this RC6 build I only did a few things and NOTHING to do with thrust, control issues or whatever. In fact, I only released it because of the mining drone issue. And I seem to have broken the ability to quit an mp server (I accidentally commented out a line when I put in Quick Save). Gonna release RC7 later tonite to address this. Anyway, I take it that the game save revisions are fine then?
Darkken Nightshade
To use the TOM you have to have the craft "targeted" and I was thinking that a quick way to target them was by using the SUL mode of the radar, but I'm sure there is a key command that will get me to them quickly. Anyway that was my train of thought. Thanks! Any yes BTW....these RC candiates are really shaping up the game nicely, so far anything that I personally observed is way way in the corrected past. ie that Z buffer thing and female sex change thing, although the terran female commander still doesn't look very terran to me, and that Blondie female file that I can see in the folder does not come up as pictured thru any of the female race choices...but i digress
Supreme Cmdr
Did you READ the part where I said that they are NOT yours? And do you know what SUL actually means?

Banquet
I just tried to exit the cc on a planet (tranis?) and rather than exit and then die.. (as u do, sometimes) I got a message saying you can't exit because you'll die. I didn't notice this prior to RC7. A small thing.. but apprecitated nontheless (how many planets have I died on?!) And now I'm going to bed coz I'm posting far too much crap for no apparent reason.
Lestat9
Just one comment about RC7 I noticed because I use the command alot. (G) is used to designate a target It doesnt appear to be working in RC7 yet was working in RC6 any ideas?

Because they can fly shuttles, can go to a planet etc, if you do ALT+E, you will die because they are not designed for that. I am going to check what you posted right now, because that looks like a bug. You should be able to exit the CC as you could before, unless when I put that check for the SFM in, I did it incorrectly. GreyDog
whenever I set a waypoint on a planet & a/p to it the ship image dissapears, you can see the engine burn graphics ..but there no ship in front of it. from this point on, including after planetfall, f9 & f10 reveal no ship ...egress reveals no ship & I cant get back in because I cant find it. I have screenies if you need em. noship1 noship2 it didn't do this pre-rc7, thats why I'm posting this here. it occurred on both Gamma1, with BCmk2 & Earth with Jenstar, two tests I didnt do (which I maybe could have) was to 1) try & view it from a shuttle & 2) fly in manually. dont know if it matters, but I'm running the GF4 mx 440, I was assured by the salesperson when I bought the system that it was the upgraded one. [edit] I just spent the last couple hours trying to recreate the problem today ..with no success. I can only surmise that what ever was causing it was fixed by shutting down for the night & rebooting in the morning. my apologies for posting to soon, I wont let it happen again! Guest Shingen
I think it might be the nvidia driver (40.72) that simulates the shader thingy. I've seen the "noship" thing happen on my kit with the gf4 mx 440, but not on my kit with the Radeon 9000.

Anyway, it does happen (sorta) I'm in a Warmonger on Treas and when I Alt-E I get this message; 'You cannot exit this craft while on a planet or you'll die' Thinking about it, the planet looks quite hospitable - and the message says 'a planet', rather than 'THIS planet' Oh well, it seemed kinda neat while I was drunk. Supreme Cmdr
I have deleted three posts which bear NO relevance to items in the RC6/7 patches. quote:Originally posted by GreyDog: whenever I set a waypoint on a planet & a/p to it the ship image dissapears, you can see the engine burn graphics ..but there no ship in front of it.GreyDog, your GF4MX card does NOT have a vertex shader, let alone a pixel shader so please don't post about ANY graphics issues please. The only reason you are even able to run this game is (1) nVidia is cheating with their drivers (2) I have not yet put in a test for those boards - when I do - in the final 1.00.02 patch, the game will display the normal message about the board not having a vertex shader, and then quitting. quote:Originally posted by Banquet: Yikes, I did have a few beers last night, so thought I'd better go and re-check that! Are you going to make the final patch intentionally NOT work with gf4 mx 440 cards even with the old drivers that simulate the vertex shader, and if you are, why?
