Ron Kendol
Hello there, I did a search but found nothing on how to install a .php patch file. Whenever I try to use it windows want's me to pick a program to open it. I read something about an install file in uc but couldn't find it. Pugwash
What .php patch file, I thought all UC patch files are .exe or .zip What are you trying to patch? What is the full file name of the patch file? Where did you get the file from? "PHP Hypertext Preprocessor" is a server-side web scripting language for building dynamic and interactive web sites. So if you are trying to run a file with a .php extension you need a PHP enabled webserver. Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick, this has nothing to do with UC technical support and will be moved to another forum, but first I'll wait for your reply. Ron Kendol
2.00.13 downloads as a .php file when I download it. Should this not be? the file is titled "patch.php" I am using XP home ed and MSN 8. My Copy of uc is patched to 2.00.00, all other patches after that download as "patch.php"
Pugwash
Something is wrong at your end then, I have just tried downloading it and it's ok. The file should be called uc20013.zip try renaming the file you have. If you can then unzip it, it should contain 2 files the uc exe and a md5 checksum. Ron Kendol
Should the download address be "http://www.3000ad.com/register/patch.php"?
Supreme Cmdr
No. There is no link. When you click on the patch, the download should automatically start. MSN 8 is not a proper browser and its rubbish. So I have no idea why you even thought you could use it. You have IE. Use it.
Ron Kendol
I am so stupid, everything worked just fine in IE. MSN sucks! I just got complacent whith it. Thank you
Supreme Cmdr
Yeah, MSN is complete rubbish; dunno what MS was thinking.

The company that brought us "Microsoft Bob"? Microsoft probably has more failed and mediocre products than successes, if you look at their whole product line. Why anyone would be surprised that something from Redmond is "crapware" is a mystery to me.
