Epsilon 5
My bot is still logging everything *grins* But I am not releasing the logs nor reporting anything "negative" to anyone. The logs are solely there for statistical purpose or, at best, to check if anyone was trying to tell me something (one time the stats webpage couldn't be accessed) I'd like to see the charts go up in here ... Cruis. In
couldnt edit the post above. gamesnet.net is now gamesurge.net the result of some legal dispute between who i dont know, but its settled and they are now gamesurge.net gamesnet still links to them for the moment, so typing irc.gamesnet.net still points there. but that may change. so the bc channel is now officially on irc.gamesurge.net
Charles Lindsey
I had fun. Hopefully I was mildly entertaining. Then I had one of those wonderful crashes where everything locked up.

Cruis. In
sure is... well, if these people would only get an IRC client they wouldnt have so much problems staying connected. http://www.mirc.co.uk
Charles Lindsey
I didn't mind going to gamesurge.net and using their java applet.
Cruis. In
thats because I gave you the gamesurge link. i meant the people who were using jpilot java thats on this mainpage here. was not working for you was it?
Charles Lindsey
Didn't quite work for me. I figured your explanation about the difference between gamesnet and gamesurge took care of that. I was hinting that people could go to the gamesurge homepage like you showed me and use their java applet instead of installing something.
Cruis. In
yeah. but they dont have the link to it. thats http://www.gamesurge.net/chat so now we have all the links.
Pugwash
Those using mIRC etc may need to manually add the GameSurge channels /server -a irc.gamesurge.net -g GameSurge -d GameSurge IRC Network /server -a irc.au.gamesurge.net -g GameSurge -d GameSurge Australian Servers /server -a irc.ca.gamesurge.net -g GameSurge -d GameSurge Canadian Servers /server -a irc.eu.gamesurge.net -g GameSurge -d GameSurge European Servers /server -a irc.us.gamesurge.net -g GameSurge -d GameSurge US Servers you should be able to copy and past all five commands into the window in one go. If your still having trouble visit the link. [ 02-10-2004, 06:47 AM: Message edited by: Pugwash ]
Cruis. In
they can use the default irc.gamesurge.net one and get the closes i think heh. he means to edit them in your server list latest mirc version 6.12 to do this go to view>options click on add server. then follow instructions. Description = GameSurge Netwrok server = which ever of the ones quoted applies to you. eg. irc.gamesurge.net
Cruis. In
http://www.gamesurge.net/chat thats what you need to use if you want to use java chat people. i see a number of you joining using jpilot and getting eof read errors. Epsilon 5
my bot computer mirc is redirected automatically to gamesurge - but when i think about it I'll make it so it gets directly to gamesurge (no time right now) Are the stats working right? It updates often but I just want ot make sure they actually work. I'll get to work on a new statpage logo since the one i currently have includes the old BCG logo. nice to see the daily chat charts go up, after months of zeros and ones .. i paid for the program to make those charts
Epsilon 5
Alright, i updated the stuff, my bot connects directly to gamesurge, the stats webpage no longer require you click a link to see them and I changed the top logo from a bcm-bcg combo to a more appropriate BCMG-UC combo. I'm debating whether the log parser should only take in account chat since (let's say) 1 year from the update time. Currently it compiles everything since Sept. 10 2002 (really!). I got an option to set that stuff with MIRCstats. The stats are not affected by the server change.
Epsilon 5
I ran a test for the 1 year thing, that's 60% of the log, here's the result http://stats.epsilon5.ath.cx/test12.html and a test with 6 months http://stats.epsilon5.ath.cx/test6.html the results are not very different since the month 6 to 12 were pretty dead. But in both of them some of the oldies of the chatroom (like me) almost completely disappear off the charts.

Supreme Cmdr
OK. We're all set. I'm going to have to setup a bot to log in to the channel once a week in order to prevent this from happenning again. Thanks for the headsup Pugwash!!!
