Has anyone come up with any good ideas about trading in BCM: Routes... Good Items... and etc... And what are you traders out there using? I am commanding a MRT 15. Doing a route between Earth and Pluto w/ vagrants (From earth to Pluto) to learn the some basic and stuff...

  • 3 weeks later...

I hope this is not an exploit hole that gets pluged, but I found a way to make millions without using inflation or drones.

All cc's, both cruiser and carrior, have irridium fuel tanks. I start off at the home starbace (e.i. galcom hq) where the prices are low. Stock up on as much irridium as you want. Then, go looking for a friendly bace that is atleast 2 jumps away from a major bace (e.i. in the Lyrius system). Iridium uses its own storage, making it ideal for trading.

My personal rout is from galcom hq to Wrath starbace in Lyrius. First thing I do is sell everything onboard my ship. It is risky but worth the quick buck. I get around 1.1 million after selling all cargo on my ship, then I stock up on as much iridium as I can. The round trip from Galcom to Wrath and back is $39k in radium if baught from Galcom. The profit in selling iridium from Galcom to Wrath is +64%. The first trip yeilds around $40k in profit after feul bill. The next trip yields 2.8 million total. After 5 or 6 trips, I can afford all the upgrades and artifacts I want with $10 mill to spare. If my ship were a carrior, I'd have used a random by now.

There are tons of trends in the prices from starbace to starbace. Radiation Control units can yield up to 30% in profit. Plutonium and krypton can also yeild upwards of 50% and more. Minding drones can have up to 500k in profit if you look hard.

If you want to make money quick sell everything you have, you can buy it back when you have a nice reserve of cash.

Come on SC. Ground assaults, OTS weapons, and mines are very expansive and there's A LOT of mission zones, enough to keep you busy for weeks on 1 planet. So don't make it too hard to get money, otherwise it will just make it harder to make ground attacks which are VERY fun.

I too began by using the Iridium method.and continue to use it as my cargo hold fills..lol .. I also use regenerator links and shield I/O spare parts. They are big bucks per piece and only take up two cargo units.

In general, when/how do stations' inventories get replenished/rearranged? I'm especially leery of the iridium-trading approach, as HQ's stocks have (near's I can figure) remained unimpacted by anything other than my own actions, at least in game so far. Don't want to transfer all the things I'll need to be rebuying later to more expensive stations.

It is dynamic. NPCs do the same thing you do. And stations set their prices, availability based on conditions, inflation etc.

For those who ask what's the best cargo to buy and where?

you may want to look at these Map with mouseover popups Data tables web pages

They contain details on the BCM solar system as well as sorted item lists to help you maximise the CC loading when space is a priority.

The tables use AxtiveX so if your browser doesnot support ActiveX (like Opera) they wont work.

I had made over 200 pages some 3-4 months ago but never got round to finishing them off.

These aren't finished but they'll do to be going on with.

Oh if you click on a title it should pop up a description best viewed wit IE 1024 x 768 at least.

I spent the last couple of hours updating the data to RC9.

Thanks Gallion for the tip on excel, tab delimited text files and importing them with Dreamweaver, what took days last time only took a 5 - 10 mins a page.

How do I set up a trading route

Study the data in the pages and the map,

Select an area with variety spacestations, starbases with a range of Tech levels and inflation rates.

When docked buy the facilities specialised Tech components (AD,AG,HT,RO,etc)

The price you pay depends on a few factors but in general they will be low than other item

Navigate to another facility with either a higher inflation rate or other speciality and sell.

in gereral you should make a profit.

repeat.

When looking for a place to mine check the Planet page for a suitable planet with high mineral content.

Edit URL's changed

Just checked again, Works for me ?

but if you can't connect from that link try from my

My home web page and navigate to BCM data. and then select from menu.

I'll probably up load some more this week including a jump matrix page, it was about 95% finished the problem with it was the JavaScript didn't calculate the number of jumps correctly from the user given start and destination points (forms and dropdown lists), I'll probably just rip the code out and paste the matrix until I have time to fix it.

CYA

Hi everyone.

This is my first post here.

Just wanted to add that this game is great.

Anyway, you can get rich very quickly and easily in this game. Don't know if it is a bug or not.

To get rich by trading without cheating ofcourse is as follows...

Buy SDM-Drogue (weapon) from GalCom in Earth or similar item and sell it in Polaris 2 System. Each item makes you about 1,500,000. I started with 15,000,000 from mining drones and in 4-5 trips went up to 150,000,000. The more trips you make the faster your money will grow almost exponentially.

So, it is very easy to make money, forget the mining drones takes too much time. Now if only I can fix my occatianal save game problems.

Let me see if I got this straight....

Your making millions running surface defense missiles to a place called Polaris 2?

Anybody else see the humor in this?

I've uploaded the Jumpmatrix so now you can calculate the number of jumps from any point to any point and calculate an approximate travel time from your selected CC asset type.

the data needs verifying as I haven't double checked all of it yet, so if you find an error let me know

I'll up date the star station and star base page so that you can tell what system the base/ station is in later this week and might get around to putting those missing lines round those tables.

Appearantly he divised some kind of course plotting gizmo. Are the bunnies having trouble reading maps perhaps?

Was about to write about not having received your email, Pugwash, but I just noticed your PM.

[uPDATE] Are they just doing it to tease me? problem solved. atleast, I can read it behind this comp. anyway, I'm happy

LOL

The jump matrix page contains (at the bottom) a javascript form which you can use to determine the number of jumps it will take you to travel from any two points, if you select the CC asset type the approximate time it takes to travel there will be calculated. When used in conjunction with the trading data etc should help t plot those trading routes

I was going to add fuel usage but am too idle and would have to check the fuel usage of all CC with each engine / reactor upgrade combination.

I have plans to change the interface either to take the inputs directly from the grid highlighting the corresponding rows and columns or to use the map to enter the start and end points but haven't got round to that yet.

It was originally a tool to help while scripting to calculate just the right amount of time for those ACM mission scripts.
