AllenKG2001
All good things come to those who wait my friend. The one feature I am most looking forward to in BCG (appart from MP) is the "Message board" type thing, so when you dock say at a station you can read these boards which will contain adds requesting different things. So say you where an assassin, you would look for rewards for desposing of certain ships or NCPs. This is like a feature from Elite and I use to love that game until BC3000ad came out. I hope SC still decides to put this feature in.

BCM took 22 months. And by the time BCG comes out in Q2 2003, it would have taken about 18 months to do. These are all standard development times. BC3K, the first title in the series, took the longest to do because I was, well, a n00b with grand ideas that computers at the time, couldn't make happen. Crush7100
Just seems to take so long because everyone is eagerly awaiting, like watching the pot waiting for it to boil.
Epsilon 5
quote:Originally posted by Crush: Just seems to take so long because everyone is eagerly awaiting, like watching the pot waiting for it to boil.Yup. I've been testing Jumpgate epsisode 2 (the next big patch) for 2 weeks and people are complaining that it takes forever and that ep2 is vaporware and such. You should see the boards, sooo many ep2 thread, always asking about an update, less or more friendly warnings to devs, gms (btw the gamemasters are from a different company) and now they're bugging the Test pilots! ugh. And it's been delayed for the third time. First it was around june. Then mid september. Then mid october. then ... well we don't know. In september they made an announcement that they had mid oct as a target. When people saw it didn't come in mid oct, they said Netdevil lied, and they broke promises and such! Where have I see that before ... ("broken promises" when there's no such thing) ... oh well. /semi rant off
Kalshion
hehe im waiting in the shadows for Ep2.. I don't care how long it takes to make it as long as they do a good job. Original Jumpgate is boring = Well to get back on topic I thought it took a couple years to make BCM. I stand corrected.

Have you ever been 4 or more people doing the same thing (fluxing, towing, escorting, hunting artifacts, etc) ? Supreme Cmdr
I'll try JG again when EP2 comes out. I agree, the current incarnation is boring - in some aspects. EDIT: In the meantime, if you ladies want to discuss Jumpgate, please go to the General Discussions forum and search for the thread in which it was being discussed. CedricB
Speaking of long dev times...... *coughteamfortress2cough* The really good thing about 3000ad titles is that us rabid fans get to talk to the Developer on a regular basis so we get a general feel for how close to r-day things get. With some other companies it's like trying to talk about Area 51. [ 11-20-2002, 05:38 AM: Message edited by: CedricB ]

CedricB
Actually S-2 would be a better name (check my location and you'll see why I'm into Area 51).... S-2 is supposed to be south of the main base at Area 51 and is nothing more than some doors in the side of a mountain. Some aeronautical engineer (Bob Lazar) said he worked out there and saw several "alien" craft. I think Revel released a model UFO based on his testimony. But there is a model kit out there. The only problem is that in all the annuals of the school Bob went to that anyone can find (alumnai copies and the school archives), he's not in there. So his story has been discounted as a hoax. Or is this the Illuminati at it again? FNORD!
