UN Confirms: WMDs Smuggled Out of Iraq

quote:

┬® June 18, 2004, Rod D. Martin

In a report which might alternately be termed ÔÇ£stunningÔÇØ or ÔÇ£terrifyingÔÇØ, United Nations weapons inspectors confirmed last week not merely that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, but that he smuggled them out of his country, before, during and after the war.

Late last week, the UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) briefed the Security Council on Saddam's lightning-fast dismantling of missile and WMD sites before and during the war. UNMOVIC executive chairman Demetrius Perricos detailed not only the export of thousands of tons of missile components, nuclear reactor vessels and fermenters for chemical and biological warheads, but also the discovery of many (but not most) of these items - with UN inspection tags still on them -- as far afield as Jordan, Turkey and even Holland.

Notably absent from that list is Iraq's western neighbor Syria, ruled by its own Baath Party just like Saddam's and closed to even the thought of an UNMOVIC inspection. Israeli intelligence has been reporting the large-scale smuggling of Saddam's WMD program across the Syrian border since at least two months before the war. Syria has long been the world's foremost state-sponsor of terrorism.

Perricos highlighted the proliferation danger to the Security Council, as well he should: UNMOVIC has no idea where most of the WMD material is today, just that it exists and it's gone; and anything in Syria is likely to be in Jerusalem or New York tomorrow.

This is the biggest news story of 2004 so far. Yet you haven't heard about it, have you?

You probably haven't heard about Canada's Prime Minister Paul Martin either -- a socialist and no friend of America. Addressing a group of 700 university researchers and business leaders in Montreal last month, Martin stated bluntly that terrorists have acquired WMDs from Saddam. The fact is that there is now, we know well, a proliferation of nuclear weapons, and that many weapons that Saddam Huseein had, we don't know where they are. [T]errorists have access to all of them, the Canadian premier warned.

The tip of this terrorist sword was scarcely deflected on April 26th, when Jordanian intelligence broke up an al Qaeda conspiracy to detonate a large chemical device in the capital city of Amman. Directed by al Qaeda terrorist leader Abu al-Zarqawi -- the same man who personally beheaded American Nicholas Berg in Iraq last month -- the plotters sought to use a massive explosion to spread a ÔÇ£toxic cloudÔÇØ, meant to wipe out the U.S. embassy, the Jordanian prime minister's office, the Jordanian intelligence headquarters, and at least 20,000 civilians (by contrast, only 3,000 died on 9/11). Over twenty tons of chemical weapons were seized from the conspirators, who were just days away from carrying out their plot.

One wonders where CNN and USA Today think twenty tons of nerve gas and sarin came from: Chemical Weapons-Mart? Yet their coverage, like most major media outlets, mentioned not a word about Saddam's smuggled WMDs, which -- according to liberal dogma -- ÔÇ£don't exist.ÔÇØ

Even though the UN says they do exist, now spread around the world.

It's not just the UN. Bill Clinton says they exist, even after the war: in a July 2003 interview with Larry King, the ex-president uncharacteristically defended George Bush, saying it is incontestable that on the day I left office, there [was]a substantial amount of biological and chemical material unaccounted for in Iraq. Every intelligence agency in the world -- French, British, German, Russian, Czech, you name it -- agreed before the war; Jordanian intelligence can certainly confirm their opinion today.

So what's the deal? Why the relentless pretence that ÔÇ£Bush liedÔÇØ when even the UN and Bill Clinton say he didn't? Why the absolute silence about ÔÇ£inconvenientÔÇØ parts of various UN reports, such as the discovery of chemical and biological weapons plans, recipes and equipment; of bio-weapons agents in an Iraqi scientist's house; of a prison lab for testing bio weapons on humans; of complexes for manufacturing fuel for prohibited long-range missiles; of artillery rounds containing enough sarin to kill thousands of people, of similar shells containing mustard gas, two (but far from the only) of which were used in a terrorist attack against U.S. forces just weeks ago?

America cannot afford the answer to this ÔÇ£whyÔÇØ: that many on the left consider George W. Bush's defeat more urgent than al Qaeda's, his political death more essential than the possible physical death of millions of Americans.

The character of our foreign enemies has never been in doubt. The character of the enemy within -- from Dan Rather to Michael Moore -- has never been clearer. And the stakes are the highest they've ever been.

WTF? I thought that there weren't ANY WMD's?

You guys thought I was crazy? Well, sorry guys, my sources prove themselves AGAIN!!!

This is NOT the only Website with this article, but NONE of the mainstream press has bothered to cover it at all, even Fox.....

HMM, gives me chills boys and girls, and it should give you chills as well....

Oh, and just in case you don't like the Vanguard, Here is the UN's report....

SAM engines in a Netherlands scrapyard, and some research on one bacteria species. And some demolished buildings.

This is supposed to be evidence of WMDs smuggled to Syria...?

Forgive me if I don't take a far-right "news" article with virtually no basis in reality at face value. Unlike you, I don't take things that support my position if they have no proof behind them.

And change the thread title to something more relevant, Scooby-talk belongs on the TV show, not in a serious discussion forum.

I will name my threads whatever I want.

Those items are ALL banned by the UN, and they are weapons from Iraq, smuggled out of Iraq.

So, you tell me, what can we logically deduce from such information?

Oh, that's right, logic has nothing to do with how you FEEL, right?

Itaq didn't smuggle those weapons, I bet those weapons never even existed in the first place, right Kartoffel?

Let's see, the weapons were never destroyed, we marked them for destruction, but they never proven to be destroyed, a convoy, BIG convoy, disapears into Syria just before the war, and now the WMD's that should have been there, are NOT there.

HMM, weapons smuggled out, found in the Ntherlands, Turkey and other counties, and the WMD's seem to not be in Iraq.

Well, guess what, logical deduction puts that convoy at the right place and time to be smuggling the WMD's OUT of the country and into Syria. THen 20 tons of Sarin gas shows up in Jordan in an Al Quaeda plot to kill 30,000 people.

Well, Al Quaeda did not and NEVER has had the facilities to make 20 TONS of Sarin gas, and it has ALL the earmarks of OMG, Iraqi Sarin gas.

So again, logical deduction, Logic, you do know what that is, do you not? We can pretty well put the story together, and know with 90% certainty, that those WMD's that Bush was told were in Iraq, are NOW in Syria.

Fun, lots of fun, other information that confirms this, I can't share with you, sorry, but logical deduction and satelite photos, and a thwarted Jordanian chemical attack, pretty much tellsyou what you need to know.

Silly Rabbit... evidence is for... well, thinking people like you and I. *snickers* Others will be happy to find any grain of truth in the lies that they bought and paid for... and their kids paid for and.... well you get the picture.

LOL,

You poor things, the evidence is out there to be found, it's too bad that you won't go out and find it.

Not only is the evidence STRONG, it is ROCK solid.

A huge amount of WMD's are in Syria, 20 tons of Sarin gas was just the tip of the iceberg, then again, you still won't admit that that existed, because it doesn't go along with your Bash and hate Bush policies.

Jordan authorities have in THEIR POSSESSION, 20 TONS, yes TONS, of Sarin gas.

That is just a LITTLE tiny SMIDGEN, of said Iraqi WMD's, and where did that 20 TONS, of Sarin gas come from? Give ya 3 guesses.....

You poor little misinformed boys.

Like I said to Street, I feel for you, I really truly do....

Give me a break Judge, the UN had 14 resolutions stating that Iraq had BETTER destroy ALL WMD's.

It was part of the Ceasefire of the Gulf War as well, so just 20 pounds of Sarin gas was enough to attack and take out Saddam.

I am amazed that I have seen NONE of this on the mainstream media. You would think that the bush administration would be trotting it out to the press so they could shout it from the roof-tops. That seems very odd indeed. I mean something of this magnitude would definitively legitimize the attack on Iraq, and yet we hear nothing. Hmmmm. I believe that the evidence you are finding "out there" Jaguar is at the very LEAST questionable.

THis is NOT information that I found OUT there, I found this on 2 different Middle Eastern News Sites, as well as information from people that I know in Jordan.

20 TONS of Sarin gas, El Che, 20 tons.

You're NOT gonna hear about it here, because the American people are idiots and will panic, if it were truly known that Terrorists do INDEED have access, and possession of WMD's.

Sorry, but the president is smart enough to know that if this were made TRULY public information, the American economy would come to a standstill, people would be screaming at the top of their lungs, "Protect us" and all the other crap that goes with a security panic of the American people.

Better to do what we are doing, which is what we would do if the American people paniced anyway, and keep them in the dark and continue to stop the terrorists, and their attacks at the source, and to arrest and dispose of those that try to execute the attacks here.

The Terror war is being won, and 90% of what our intelligence and law enforcement agencies do, you WILL NOT hear about.

The American people are idiots, and everyone will want to Drive, better to let the administration and intelligence agencies drive and let the American people be ignorant of most of what is going on.
