LostInSpace
BIN LOSER cover page of the NY POST VOTERS ELECT TO IGNORE OSAMA "Kerry aides were initially concerned enough about bin Laden's video to have campaign pollster Stan Greenberg do a poll on it and then hold a weekend conference call to try to spin reporters to believe the video would boost Kerry. Vice President Dick Cheney pounced on that, saying, "The thing I find amazing about it was that John Kerry's first response was to go and conduct a poll to find out what he should say about this tape from Osama bin Laden." " Oh, what a president Kerry would make. Do a poll before making any bold decision.

Baloogan
Bin Laden should be a card carrying member of the republican party. He netted more votes for the republicans than all other forms of the republican's PR combined.
Grizzle
Bin Laden WANTS Bush as President. He knows what hes is doing. Whether or not he bankrupts the US, he has guaranteed that the world will continue to be reluctant to join in the fight and/or that Bush continues his poor attempts at fighting a war that CANNOT be won. He knows the middle east and its people a hell of a lot better than we do. What a big mistake it was to divert attention from capturing him to invading Iraq. Please Grizzle, the war on terror IS being won, why do you think Osama sent us a video tape instead of just killing a bunch of us? HMMMM? Because he is incapable of hurting us, and was hoping that Kerry would be elected, so he would have some breathing room to regroup and hit us again. This is why I said that we would be hit 6 months after Kerry was elected, because Kerry would back off on the war on terror, and it would take him 6 months, IF EVER, to get it going again. So, within that time, Osama felt that he would be free to regroup, reorganize and strike us again. Besides which, Kerry said that we would go on defense, NOT offense, as Bush has taken us. Defense will NEVER win a war, but our offensive has and will win it. Osama can't catch his breath, or else he would have bombed us instead of sending a video. Grizzle
Kery said nothing about going on defense, he said he would build a stonger coalition (and let's face it, he would be much better at diplomacy than Bush) and work harder to resolve the war in Iraq. You can continue to lump Iraq in with the war on terror, but they are two distinctly different things. Iraq was never the hub of terrorism as a whole but has been made more so by the war. All this war has done is gotten us mired in an untenable situation and allowed Bin Laden to escape and continue to operate freely. Bin Laden is only laying low for now, but don't be fooled into thinking that renders him ineffectual. The only way to do that is to capture him and bring an end to his ability to spawn more terrorists. Unfortunately as is the nature of terrorism he will be replaced by some other and the cycle will continue.
Guest
Grizzle, sorry, all infornation and intelligence tells me that you are wrong. Iraq was a MAJOR component of the war on terror, you and others are still NOT seing the big picture. You have failed to see the motivation behind taking out Saddam. Read the 911 report, and then come back and we'll talk....
