However I heard recently that you can't use an ATI card on an ASUS motherboard as it uses a different power setting and will fry your board. Anyone else heard anything about this? There may be an issue with using AGP 8x video cards on an older motherboard that only supports AGP 2X. I'm runnning an ATI 9800XT on an Asus A7n8x(nforce2)mobo with absolutely no problems at all. You may want to check your power supply before upgrading though. I'd recommend at least a 400 watt power supply with any of the latest video cards. They are very power hungry!! RaptorRage
The 9600XT is one of the few current generation cards that doesn't need a power supply hookup into the card itself, so there's another thing going for it.
Eclipse
well I got my 9600 pro yesterday and so far it seems to be running stable with the core speed clocked to the 500mhz of the 9600XT. Works great so far, but i'm still running tests.
