3d file formats...

While that works in most situations, it won't in the image I'm creating in this case, assuming I can even accomplish the 3d scene I've got in my concept drawings. I spent a day creating the drawings after the image popped into my head, and two more days working out ways to reduce the render time to under a day.

Hmm... that would be a bummer if the plugin doesn't work under 3ds max 4...

For those that are using GMAX, you can find scripts that will allow you to import .3ds, .obj and other formats here:

They have tons of scripts for 3ds max there as well. My favorite max plugin is called Chilliskinner. It assists you in breaking down a model for texturing, and it's the greatest for those who are making low-poly models. The home page for this magnificent tool is here:
