Rattler
Hey, I don't mind being on the front lines. We live there anyway! What does concern me is the loss of an asset. Blades
Ah Centris, how fondly I remember you. This is good SC. Centris is very good. That big assed red spot thing was giving me a headache anyway. Just wonderin. In RP terms, is a new station for ORION in Centris being constructed as a replacement (And the old station being signed over to EarthCom then renamed) or is this to be percieved *As it always was*? I guess that is kinda relevant for a lot of the new stations and locations.Just somthing my brain likes to thunk up. ------------------ F.C KARL 'BLADES' SAVAGE ORION FLEET TSUNAMI BATTLE GROUP GCV - TSUNAMI Ôäó www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk 'For Queen and country' [This message has been edited by Blades (edited 03-20-2000).]
Andergum
NOOOOOO!!!!! Destiny gone????That means we have to.... 1. re-assign all our commanders to new stations 2. re-type the Insurgent roster 3. re-do out fleet structure pic 4. re-do our web pagesIn short everything that Rattler, myself and many others have been working on for the past few weeks just got all jumbled again...moaning ain't the word... ah well, it does seem more balanced that way...(btw - Sygan is spelled wrong in the list)------------------ Cmdr. Guest
Nice place for Earthstar, SC. And very nice name. Rattler I think maybe it's not so much as what you all did wrong. I just believe that SC is just trying to balance things out. If you look at it, for the insurgents to be a rag-tag band of freedom fighters you all had enouhg assets to rival some of the alien nations in the galaxy. Just own my guess though. ------------------ EarthCOM-Officer Karl Wolf ECV Hammer of God Epsilon Battle Group (Wolf Pack) 15th EarthCom Planetary Force"When it comes down to it, Earth is first and everyone else can go to Hell." Rattler
Right you are Karl. I can see his intentions and know that we were getting powerfull. I'll live with it and the Insurgents will live with it as well. Now how do I tell my people that they no longer are in the positions that we thought they were going to be. Well, that one's up to me. My job. Insurgents, Please do not post to this thread. We are not whiners or complainers. We take what we are given and still will KA in BCM. The SC knows what he's doing. Charles Lindsey
I'm with Karl. Earth has 8 assets. Even lowly Starpath counts. But I hear those scientists been tweaking the turrets. Insurgents now have 5. The original Sygan, Spectre, and the three new ones. Thomas Siemens
Derek, Prime uses Galcom HQ, Genesis, and Starpath as assets. You have set Starpath to Scientist (was Military), and Gazer1 to Military (was Scientist). The wings Delta, and Epsilon were assigned to Starpath. Should we move from Starpath to Gazer1 with Delta, and Epsilon?------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Joe Gudihl GCV-Dark Star Prime Fleet "Remember, we are trained professionals... Don't try this at home!" Supreme Cmdr
Blades, in RP terms, a new station is being constructed and everyone has to pack up and leave the old station.Thomas I was using the wrong chart. And the reason I removed one of the stations was because I didn't want the Insurgents to be as powerful as GALCOM. However, since BCM starts off in 3015AD (the next title in the series, is of course, BC:3020AD), I figured, why not. GALCOM+EARTHCOM must have goofed somewhere - not unheard of. Anyway, I've been taking notes because I have to write in the timeline extension to explain: where the hell the Insurgents got the funding from where they got the technology for New America from how they got the Syrions to let them actually build a station in Tarean and where the hell was GALCOM when they were building Destiny - right in our backyard. Guest aramike01
SC, if I may make a suggestion for the timeline story...Uranus is a gaseous planet, right? Using the highly-practiced and rehearsed cloak and dagger technique that an organization such as ours MUST employ, Destiny was built under the cover of Uranus' atmosphere. Several "ghost" inter-Sol attacks and prolonged operations kept Galcom and Earthcom distracted through the time it took for construction to complete. Supplies were ferried in on cloaked barges towed by cloaked BCs. Perhaps it would also be interesting to read of an Insurgent victory of a battle which ensued after an Earthcom vessel happened to stumble upon Destiny. As for the idea of funding and such, perhaps the Insurgency should be seen as a govermental entity. I mean, it is unrealistic to have such an organized military presence without any government to keep it grounded. And I'd hate to think of where we deposit civilian defectors. I'm not suggesting a full-blown government here, as we are still essentially a rebellian. But some kind of stabilizing factor should be established, IMHO. We fight for freedom, not anarchy. To that end, there should be laws to follow and a militaristic, or better, a military government does not follow that virtue. Hope you consider this, SC.------------------ Cmdr. Supreme Cmdr
No, that won't fly (under the cover of Uranus? Are you serious?). Anyway, this is not the thread for that and I'm not looking for suggestions. I'll do it myself when I've finished thinking about it. Thanks though! Guest aramike01
Yeah, that cover thing was far-fetched. But hey, it was early *yawn*. GREG MILLER
Ok, time to throw my 2 cents in... I don't have a problem with "Destiny", however I do with its placement. Since supposedly the ISS Fleet stands for In System Support and is always on patrol in Sol; I find it very hard to believe that the Insurgents were building a SpaceStation in Uranus's space without any detection what so ever. I'm sure someone at one time or another had to see them building and or supporting construction of that thing.Just my thoughts on reality thats all. ------------------ CMDR GREG MILLER (GMAN) ORION FLEET EXECUTIVE OFFICER TSUNAMI BATTLE GROUP GCV - SARK ICQ 64202480'The righteous care about justice for all, but the wicked have no such concern.' Chaos
It would make more sense for the Destiny to have been a Galcom base that was captured. Blades
I tend to agree with GREGS assesmnent. Putting Destiny in the midst of all the GalCOm stations in the area seems a little far fetched. GalCom would have really had to mess up on it's intel to allow that to happen. Also, from a strategic point of view, that sorta surrounds the new ORION station a tad. Not that I have a problem fighting a war on two fronts of course. If the placement is final, so be It, we can all live with it and will probably develope a strategy to combat it (I'm gonna go watch Zulu again) and keep those bunnies in check.Oh, and Rattler?Dont you point that bloody spear at me! ------------------ F.C KARL 'BLADES' SAVAGE ORION FLEET TSUNAMI BATTLE GROUP GCV - TSUNAMI Ôäó www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk 'For Queen and country'
Supreme Cmdr
OK, so, uhm, I guess Destiny is moving again then? Definitely not. I put it there for a specific reason. Of course they built it right under GALCOM's nose. Its either that or I have the Insurgents take Gazer1. That was would be far-fetched because somehow I don't see GALCOM allowing a station at a strategic location, to be captured - no matter how badly they screw up. Rattler
OK, thank you Derek for restoring Destiny. I owe You big time for that one! Now on to the how's and why's. why not give Destiny cloaking technology. Insurgents are resourceful, and we are natural born thieves when it comes to survival. Have to be. Andergum
Thanks Derek for saving Destiny!she means alot to us insurgents I suppose it doesn't really matter where you put her, and I like Rattler's suggestion that it be a cloaked base.As far as where the Insurgents got all the money for funding.. well Galcom could have had a few commanders working secretly for the insurgents, funneling supplies and money to the enemy, before finally getting caught. Charles Lindsey
Errrr. Uhmmmm. Excuse me. {raises hand } But this is exactly why I wanted to be Storekeep. I knew the Insurgency would rely on trading for funding while Galcom had the UFN and taxes. RP only of course. This part of the Insurgency has been in place since the beginning (oops since Rattlers new beginning). It is not a far stretch to imagine that in 15 years (3000ad for 2.09 till 3015 for BCM) we could have raised those funds ourselves. I'm not above a few friends left in Galcom. The manual says so. Well pretty much. "Support for the Insurgents grew". So funding came from our own efforts and some from within Galcom perhaps. It's there if Derek wants to use it. Galcom cooperated with the Syrions and Droidans for the Atrian-Alloy hulls. Negotiations could have continued and allowed us the technology to build New Amerca. Again the support thing. So far as how we got into Syrion space I have no idea. A gratitude for a service perhaps?Where was Galcom? beats me. This really should be in RP but not the entire thread. Just where we went off topic. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester"We Shall Arise From The Ashes"[This message has been edited by Charles Lindsey (edited 03-21-2000).]
