ISS Fleet Recruitment

Sick of flying dangerous, gung-ho combat missions for paranoid Fleet Commanders?

Don't fit in with the other, less flexible fleets?

Angry at the desertion of GALCOM's homeworlds while Prime, Wraith and Orion gallivant across the Galaxy and focus their attention on the Gammulan quadrant?

Sick of ignoring the enemies in our own back yard?

The ISS fleet may be for you! InSystem Support coordinates home system defensive networks, intelligence and espionage information, and offers a position for ships who specialise in alternative combat roles, such as minesweeping, medical evacuation, or anything else. We may also be offering contracts to independent forces, and enquiries are welcome.

The ISS is currently recruiting new commanders to fill their expanded defensive network. With BC:M approaching, the ISS is on the lookout for multiplayers who can provide services to the fleet. We are also looking for writers, RPers, or anyone else who wants to join a fleet that doesn't concentrate on L33T MPers with Cable...*grin*.

In real-life terms, the ISS Fleet caters to both multiplayers, and role-players.

In the new millenium, the darkness is approaching. Face it with support. InSystem Support.

Just visit www.crosswinds.net/~issfleet for more information.

Hell no, I'm not trash-talking. *grin*. I'm merely illustrating the philosophical differences between our different branches of GALCOM. Much as I'm sure you Insurgents would tend to compete for new recruits between your strike fleets and your resource fleets. I'm sure that Chavik and Akira are often playing that subtle game of enticement with your new recruits.

Oh sorry, I forgot, you Insurgents excel in your cohesiveness as a fleet...*grin*.

If you're trying to pick a fight here, Aramike, I'm afraid I'll have to deny you this time. Unless, of course, you're applying to join the ISS, in which case I am happy to entertain your comments.

Negative...we now have fleets, plural! Better do some more recon on us or at least get some reliable data!

They only count as fleets if you actually have enough ships to fill them...*evil grin*. =P

I'd forgotten how much fun this was. But I'd better pull my head in, considering the number of active members of the ISS we have left. I HAd noticed the enhancements the Insurgency has made to it's army, and it's heartening to see at least one BC group doing well. I even considered defecting as part of my return to the BC world, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Ah well, such is life.

ISS was suppose to be the clearing house and coordinate all the inter-agency/fleet stuff, at least at its inception - IOW all bark with no bite. Guess this has gone by the wayside, I mean with all the lemmings following each other off the nearest cliff, the Primies are a bunch of lackless lackies, and Wraith being nothing better than a court jester - what exactly is left to deny what is rightfully ours?

This is the Calm Before the Storm. MP cometh with GCO hot on its tail

Oh, insurgents attacking another recruitment thread in hopes of nabbing some more saps into their ranks.

*throws the pizza across the room and closes the door*

Ah, nothing like rabid wolves on a cold spring morning.

Good to see you active again De Sylva!

Actually, Gallion, I thought I was always clear on the purposes of the ISS.

1) Home system defence - which means very much bite if you stray on our turf.

2) Intelligence and espionage, so we know where to bite.

3) Coordination of tactical support craft such as minesweepers, medical evacuation, demolition, etc.. - so we know lots of different ways to make our bite hurt. *grin*.

Don't forgot who penetrated who before the Gammulan War. You might like to think we haven't got teeth, but that's only because you don't like to concede the inevitable - we have won over you once and we will again.

Hi Tac, good to see you, share the pizza.

What, like causing social and political upheaval and actively promoting violence in a rebel civil war that has caused death or injury to millions?

You mean THOSE underhanded tactics?

[/RP]

Touche, Chavik.

I can't wait for multiplayer either. And considering I won't be ABLE to multiplay, you might see why I'm actively recruiting again...*grin*. I hate not being able to back-up talk with action. and seeing our only dedicated MPer is going to be Jamont...well...I'm worried.

I WAS going to contract some of our MP actions out to Wraith, but they are, alas, not looking healthy.

Join the ISS. We're cool. If I had mooney, I'd give it to you. I don;t, but the thought is there. *grin*.

*sniffs his armpits*

not healthy? what?

We are per our SOP, a small unit.

I prefer to do my recruitment DURING MP. Beefing ranks when the game is not MP playable is likely to get you cannon fodder. Nay, ze zpezial fourzes taik only ze bezt.

I will see them fight

I shall fight by their side

I will decide their skill level

...if they qualify, I shall recruit them.

I truly prefer to think of the Galcom Fleets as a fighting team. ISS provides intel on a strong enemy position and provides the info to Galcom, which calls in elements from Prime to provide an assault force, elements from Orion to punch through & do heavy damage in space, and elements from Wraith to sabotage / do pre-strike softening of the target's defenses.

We're all in the Pot.

In fact, we should be campainging for people to join GALCOM

Also, you can contract out combat services to them Merc and Assassin castes De Sylva, no need to waste Galcom multi-billion ships (or in MP terms, our limited number of ships we can launch from the starstations!) when you can drop a few thousand creds into these people's pockets and let them do the bleeding

Uh no, u better back those contracts up with some reinforcements otherwise u can do the bleeding. Ain't gonna let my ship go to waste if u don't have your fleet ships alongside me. My vessel ain't gonna tackle a sizable force alone.

Actually no, I meant the underhanded tactic of inserting spies into other fleets. RP wise it was cool. Real life Player wise it was not cool. But it did turn into a good RP thread.

Oh, I KNOW what you meant. You're just sore 'cause we took the initiative...*grin*.

Yeah, Ok, it was underhanded, but I knew he wouldn't get much. Besides - it's not like there's that much to find out. I've made my own assumptions regarding the ultimate aims of the Insurgency, based on the intelligence at hand (little) and the state of the game. That's about the best I can do. Alun's escapade was merely a bit of fun.

Besides, where would we all be if you and Alun HADN'T discovered the cloaked insurgent fleet in Polaris? I mean, let's face it, More Fresh Meat led to the First Gammulan War, which led to Finding Akira, and the Wraith Massacre threads - all of which helped define nearly every major character in the RPs today.

I'm kinda proud of the achievements this little community has made.

Besides. We NEARLY had a peace treaty going, didn't we, Charles? I suspect the SC woulda had our hides if we'd signed it...

LOL I forgot about the peace treaty. SC would have been going for you and Rattler would have been after me.

Nope, the thought never entered my mind. I'm sure it would have occurred to someone sooner or later. Just it was you and Alun and much much sooner than I would have thought.

Me too.
