Raven Report post Posted September 14, 2002 I know I fly a Violon, and Dredd flies a stormcarrier, but I was wondering what the rest of the Gammulans preferred.
Genken Report post Posted September 14, 2002 Since I'm a transport pilot...supplying the front lines, Either a LRT-15 for an unarmed transport, and for an armed transport, a Jenstar, since it has a good combination of speed, cargo capacity(I hope the appendix is still accurate), and defense. That and 10 marines are good to keep unwanted intruders at bay. And what I find weird is that the appendix says that the LRT-10 has more cargo capacity, when the LRT-15 is alot bigger...odd
Guest Report post Posted September 14, 2002 I fly a fully stocked and customized Stormcarrier, and of course my escorts will be stormcarriers and some smaller more maneuverable ships. THe diplomacy fleet is just that, a fleet, and we will combine the ships to the best combination to bring the most firepower, maneuverability and overwhelming force to bear upon our enemies. We will be an unstoppable force of such dimensions that the galaxy will be terrified whenever our names are mentioned. I'm sorry, what was the question? Oh yeah, I fly a Stormcarrier!! 1700th post, RIGHT ON!!! [ 09-14-2002, 07:50 PM: Message edited by: Jaguar ]

Advil Report post Posted September 15, 2002 Barring a shortage of available ship, I like to protect the homeworlds in a Stormcarrier.

Outlaw Report post Posted September 15, 2002 As shown in my sig, I prefer the Sunflash for a combo of speed and firepower and when the going gets tough, my speedy hyperdrive can get me out of the toughest firefights. Great as a fast transport as well.
Guest Report post Posted September 16, 2002 quote: You know, no one won a war just with numbers ... Who invited you into this thread? And we not only have incredible numbers, we have excellent command abilities and structure. We will be a devastating force in BCM MP, but that is our job. SC created us, and we aim to please. We will be your nightmare, and that is just the way he wants it!!

CommanderJohnson Report post Posted September 19, 2002 So many Stormcarriers. Greatest thing about them is when an enemy ship drops out of hyperdrive, the Stormcarrier's fighters blow the target to bits before the target's engines even re-materialize. Yeah, Dragon Lady's right, I fly a Stormcarrier.
kiloton Report post Posted September 20, 2002 Am I reading the multiplayer features right or did the Stormcarrier get a little less scary since support craft deployment will not be a part of multiplayer for BCM or BCM Gold (and may not be a part of BCG MP either)? Anybody rethinking their ship choices based on those listed features or am I not reading them right? Ken
Raven Report post Posted September 21, 2002 I almost never use my fighters anyway, though my four mk3 shuttles are very useful.
TARWMSRK Report post Posted September 21, 2002 pfft stormcarrier... overrated pile of bolts.. the firestorm is the only craft worthy of being called a supercarrier..

I really hope you aren't reading them right...someone, please tell me he isn't reading them right...I remember reading that, but I don't remember making the connection...the SC wouldn't NOT let us deploy FIGHTERS, would he? Would he?!? Someone, please, tell me it isn't so! TELL ME!!!!! *screams*

Guest Remo Williams Report post Posted September 21, 2002 With cruiser and other support craft escort the Stormcarrier will still be a real badboy to deal with in MP.
CommanderJohnson Report post Posted September 21, 2002 So, since we can't tractor in cargo-pods in a Stormcarrier, we're going to be reduced to having to TRADE to make money to buy ship upgrades?!?!?!?
TARWMSRK Report post Posted September 22, 2002 BWHAHAHAHAHHAHA now ill show all of you stormcarrier commanding pukes what happens when a carrier is stripped of its support craft Man im happy right now.... But since I seriously doubt that the stormcarrier wont be able to launch support craft im going to read the VCF..
CommanderJohnson Report post Posted September 22, 2002 I really hope it isn't true...it'd be REALLY stupid to have carriers without support craft, since then they are essentially oversized and slow cruisers.
AWells Report post Posted September 22, 2002 As of right now, the official word (though subject to change) is that there will be no troop, probe, support craft, or mining drone deployment in MP until BCG. There will also be no tractor beams until BCG, and no use of OTS weapons until BCM Gold. Complete details of what will be available in BC MP games up until BCG is available publicly on the newly opened battlecruiser.net site. You can find the FAQ here, complete with a table of projected features for each release in comparison to each other. So, yes, carriers in BCM and BCM Gold MP will be sluggish overweight cruisers for the most part.
Raven Report post Posted September 22, 2002 Yea, but they will be sluggish overweight cruisers with cloaking devices. Cloaking devices are fun
AWells Report post Posted September 22, 2002 quote: Yea, but they will be sluggish overweight cruisers with cloaking devices. Cloaking devices are fun Haha... true enough. My personal opinion is that I don't mind the lack of support craft deployment. Really, in a way it kind of defeats the point of multiplayer if everyone just sends waves of AI fighters to fight for them.
